“ Brand: Worlds Apart / Type: Baby Toy „
I bought this for my granddaughters to help keep their clothes tidy. I am glad I did as it's proven to be very practical and useful for them.
I bought it for £5 from a local shop and I thought it was a decent price to pay. My granddaughters love anything girlie especially if it has princesses on so when I saw it I knew they would like it.
It goes well in their bedroom as it's very pink so fits in well that's for sure. My granddaughters loved that it was so girlie and had their favourite characters on it but they also loved the fact that they could put their clothes in when it was time for them being washed. They felt like big girls having their own little laundry bin instead of using the main family one.
My daughter has said it is really useful as she doesn't have to spend as much time separating clothes before they go in the wash so it's really practical.
It doesn't take up much room as it's not all that large and it's not very tall either so it's easy for children to put clothes in by themselves without needing any help. Due to this it doesn't hold a great amount compared to a family sized one but this is just perfect for going in a little girl's bedroom.
For £5 I think it was vry good value for money as it doesn't look like a laundry bin but just another part of their room so it's lovely. They like putting their clothes in themselves and it helps my daughter out too so it's 5 stars all round I think!
Storage, no matter how much room you have you can always do with that little bit more. Kid's rooms are the same, but in their case it soon goes from toys everywhere with seemingly no homes to clothes everywhere instead.
My two are no different, I bought them both when they were younger, pop up clothes and toy tidy's. My son had a Spiderman one and my daughter had a Disney princess version. I thought they were ingenious ideas as they popped up and stood quite firmly on their own. The other reason I liked these (it got a thumbs up from the kids as well) was they didn't have to put their toys in these neatly! Unlike putting them in back in order on their shelves or in their toy boxes, toys could be just randomly put in these bins without worrying about space etc. They have both grown up since I bought these and although the toys have made way for computer games and make up (I have a boy and a girl) these bins are still going strong. They are now wedged in between shelving units so the patterns are not so noticeable, after all Spiderman is so last year!!! They are now used as laundry baskets. I may not be able to get my teenage kids to do much around the house but at least they will put their washing in these every day.
I have bought a couple of these (plain ones) for our bathroom and us adults use them too. They are small enough not to be a great eyesore, but big enough to allow a fair amount of items to be put inside, I paid £5 each for the kids ones but then they do have characters on them. The plain black versions I bought, were from a poundshop. Size wise they measure roughly 43cm x 29cm x 29cm and it's made from polyester which is easy to wipe clean. The kid's ones have been drawn on with permanent marker which will never come off, and I am not sure the Disney princesses will ever be the same but the stitching and seams have remained intact. Well worth buying, good for so many different storage ideas.
Only downside, when they pop open, they do spring open with quite a force, can be dangerous for younger kids. Folds up easily enough for storage again though.
When we decorated our daughter's bedroom a few years ago we wanted a few colourful girly accessories to complement her theme of princesses.
I was all too aware how quickly children grow out of things and knew that although my daughter was completely obsessed with princesses it wouldn't last very long. With this in mind I wanted to keep the cost of anything that she would grow out of to a minimum while still making the room feel bright, colourful and fun.
As with most families storage is always an issue in our house so finding practical solutions is a must. My daughter has a lot of toys and stuffed animals and most things are kept in her bedroom. I particularly wanted some kind of funky storage for her teddy bears and baby dollies so they could be put away and not lined up on the bed all the time.
While shopping in Asda Living I found the Princess pop up tidy priced at just £4 and felt this would be ideal as a storage space for teddies or dressing up clothes.
The pop up tidy comes in a plastic envelope style packet and is neatly folded so is very small and easy to get home. When you removed the pop up tidy from the packet and start to unfold it it does ping into its proper shape. Unfortunately I have never managed to fold it back up again. Because of the size of this item it would make an ideal stocking filler.
The pop up tidy isn't very big measuring approximately 43cm x 29cm x 29cm. There are two mesh sides and two shiny patterned sides. We have owned the princess version but have moved on to Hello Kitty now. The pop up tidys come in many different characters including Mickey Mouse, Ben 10, Peppa Pig, Toy Story, Sponge Bob, Football Teams, Disney Cars, Fairies, Spiderman, Thomas the Tank and loads more. In the shop you can get them for around £4 to £10 pounds depending on the character and if you are buying in the sales. These are widely available online for around the same sort of prices but obviously then postage prices will also need to be added.
The pop up tidy can hold quite a few soft toys and has also managed to hold a fair amount of dressing up clothes. I imagine they would also work with toys depending on the size and would be ideal for holding pots and pans and food for a toy kitchen or duplo lego.
Unfortunately after a while the seams did start to fray and the whole thing did start to lean over and refused to stand upright when full but they are so neat and small that when we moved house I bought another in the new theme.
On the whole I have been pleased with our pop up tidy and it has done the job we needed it to do. I did need to replace it but at £4 that really isn't a problem and the old one lasted about four years so I can't complain.
A cheap way to add funky storage and decoration to your Child's bedroom or playroom.
My daughter has toys at both our house and at my mums house. We often visit her so it's essential she keeps some toys there to stop me carting toys here, there and everywhere. As there are quite a few toys there, I had to buy something to keep all the toys in one place. My daughter already has a pop up tidy here so I thought it would be the right solution to keep at mums house too. I bought the Disney Princess version.
I purchased the Disney Princess pop up room tidy from Amazon for £7. It can be found quite easily from a number of places such as play.com, it's currently available to buy for only £4.40 from Tesco Direct.
The room tidy comes packaged inside a transparent plastic covering backed on a piece of cardboard. After opening the packaging the room tidy simply pops up into shape. There is no assembly required and it pops up in an instant.
Once it has been popped up, the room tidy is around half a metre high, 30cm wide and 30cm long. It is completely pink with one side of the tidy having the Disney Princess design with three princesses pictured in their pretty dressed. There is a circular hole at the top of the tidy.
As I said before, I bought this to use as a place to store toys at my mums house and it serves this purpose well. Although it isn't the strongest of storage solutions, it holds the few toys my daughter has there without any problems. I would imagine, if there was more bulky toys then the sides of the room tidy could give way. We have the Peppa Pig version here and use that for laundry so that would be another good use for this Disney Princess version though we don't use it for that at mums house.
I'd definitely recommend this Disney Princess pop up room tidy, there is no assembly required and it holds light, small toys and laundry well. It definitely keeps the room looking a lot tidier.
Having a baby can get very messy and sometimes the amount of outfits she gets through in a day amazes me due to food, falling over outside and accidents with the nappy. We have a family sized laundry basket in the bathroom but I decided that it would be helpful to have a place to put the dirty clothes in during the day and this is stored in the nursery so we don't have to leave our daughter unsupervised on the changing table.
I have had plain pop up versions of this in the past and they have been handy for handling the dry laundry like underwear on it's route back upstairs for putting away so I knew this was the style I wanted. When not in use you can fold it flat and it takes up little room, slid under the cot.
I wanted something a little more girly for our daughter as hopefully it will last us a few years so I was delighted to find the pop up basket in B&M for £4.99.
In addition to a laundry bin, this can be used to store toys or anything really. They are not terribly strong so it's not advisable to put heavy things in as you will end up dragging it and either damage the bottom or tear the handles on the top.
The basket is made of nylon material and wire gives the shape that it pops out into. You can fit a lot of clothes into the basket and it works as either a laundry or ironing basket for me!
I like the concept of this pop up hamper and it has many potential uses. It is quite hardy within reason and can be used for a number of storage solutions but my favourite thing about is that you can fold it away when not in use. I think the price is good for a branded product and it is also nice and pink and girly for our little daughter.
Now I have bought and used the pop up basket I am pleased that we bought it and think we will get plenty of use out of it over the coming years. My daughter isn't a girly girl particularly but it doesn't stop me from choosing pink things for her!
My daughter started taking an interest in Disney Princess last year so we decided to get her some things for her bedroom for christmas as up until then it was simply pink with pink accessories, we bought a number of accessories to change the room to Disney Princess without having to spend major money and the pop up tidy was one of the purchases.
I have seen these character pop up tidies in numerous places for about £7 but I found this one in our local B&M store for £4.99 so I managed to save a couple of pound on it. It came packaged in a see through plastic bag with a simple piece of paper slipped inside showing a picture of the how the pop up tidy would look when it was put up.
Once the plastic was ripped off the pop up tidy is held in place with a little loop over a little toggle and on removing the loop the tidy sprung open so there is no construction needed. The pop up tidy has 4 sides each one being a rectanglar shape with rounded edges and then there are little pieces of material in between the panels holding them all together, the outer edges of the panels are some sort of flexible plastic or the like to allow it to be folded up again although I have never managed to fold it up yet. The pop up tidy measuires 50cm high, 35cm wide and 35cm in depth so you can get quite a bit in it.
The front panel on the tidy has the disney princess pictures which are Cinderella, Belle from Beaty and the Beast and sleeping beauty all of which are wearing a different colour dress and their crowns, the rest of the tidy is pink in colour so goes great with my daughters bedroom.
My daughter was thrilled when she saw all her princess things and we had to put everything in place in her room as soon as present time was over, she used the tidy for her washing which means she is responsible for putting her own washing away on an evening which she loves as she really likes to help around the house and when I am doing a wash load if I tell her whether I want light or dark washing she will get hers out for me.
This is a lovely tidy which is still clean and does the job well, it stays up perfectly and is good and strong even though she sometimes leans in a little too far to get her washing it doesn't have any bends or kinks in it. I would recommend this bedroom tidy and of course it can be used for toys rather than clothes.
