Advantages: Easy to fill and a good weight

Disadvantages: No in my opinion

I purchased my Ditsy Owl Door stop from Amazon last year for around £10 unfilled, they are currently selling on Amazon, unfilled for £7.90. They come in a number of different colours, including, pink, green (the one I have), purple and blue. The owl comes unfilled, is made of patchwork cotton fabric, has buttons for eyes and has a zip at the back. The owl is machine washable, though I have yet to wash it, so am not sure how well they wash and iron.

To fill Ditsy all you have to do it take out of the plastic bag and from the back of the owl you fill it with either sand or rice. I filled my owl with rice, I found that it was easier to fill the bag partly full and then insert it into the owl to gage if the owl was plump and weighty enough, I ended up adding more rice to give more weight. The dimension of the owl are 200mm in height by 150mm wide, so plenty big enough to do a good job and also be noticeable in a decorative way. You could also fill the bag with dried lentils or beans, but the smaller the filling the better the overall shape of the Owl.

I use Ditsy the Owl to hold open one of my French doors mainly in the summer, for the rest of the year Ditsy sits on the window sill in the dining room looking very cute.

Overall I would recommend Ditsy the Owl to others as they are easy to fill, look great and work very well as a decorative doorstop.

Summary: Great looking novelty door stop
