“ Brand: Dunelm „
Last year a Dunelm Mill opened up quite close to where we live and I spotted these handy little stools in there one day whilst browsing around. To be honest it was the bright pink colour that caught my attention (mine is fuchsia pink) but I knew the stool would be ideal for me.
The Simply Foldable Step Stool is basically just that, a little stool that folds up.
The Foldable Step Stool is made from a strong plastic and is available in four colours, blue, coral pink, fuchsia pink and purple, I'm not sure if any other colours are available but these were the only ones on display at the time.
The step stool measures 29cm's long, 22cm's wide and 22cm's high, once again this was the only size available to me at the time. The stool has a nice spotty design giving it an up to the minuet look and a non slip top. The handle neatly folds into the top of the stool and has finger grips moulded into it making it easy to grip and carry, the stool is very light there's no real weight to it but if you suffer with hand problems and don't grip too well these will be very handy.
There's nothing complicated about folding this stool up, when you pick it up using the handle the stool just seems to fold in on itself using chunky plastic hinges, when you open it the top flattens out again creating the "step" and the whole thing supports itself and becomes very stable.
The foldable step stool can hold weights of up to 150kg which is over 20 stones so it would be suitable for most people.
Since I bought my original step stool I have since bought myself another one, I have one downstairs to use in the kitchen and one upstairs. In our bedroom we have a built in cupboard which is really deep, I have a rail in it and use it as a wardrobe but its so deep you could actually hide in the back and not be found! This cupboard is ideal except for the fact that it doesn't go right to the floor, to get right to the back of it or sort through any clothes I have to stand inside and the cupboard floor is about 2 feet above the bedroom floor, this is where this little step is so handy for me, it means I can hang clothes etc without having to climb in the cupboard.
The stool I have downstairs is for reaching the top shelf in the wall cupboards, I'm not very tall and the step stool makes this easy.
What I really like about it though is the fact that it folds up flat, I can tuck it down beside the fridge out of the way and it takes up hardly any room, upstairs I just slide it under the bed.
I've used my step stools on so many different occasions, hanging curtains, decorating, cleaning and even in the garden. The stool would also be ideal for little ones when toilet training and washing hands etc.
I would recommend these little foldable step stools to anyone, at just £4.99 they wont break the bank, they are so useful and much safer than balancing on a chair
Last year I was at dunelm mill when I came across a pile of these foldable steps priced at £5.
I only saw them in the colours white and grey and ended up buying the grey one for our kitchen.
I'd seen these foldable steps on sale in a few different home shops and thought they were quite handy to have. At times when in the kitchen I need to reach something on the top shelf which sometimes I am too short for especially if it's been pushed to the back. I used to go and grab a chair to stand on for this but coming across the foldable step meant it wouldn't take up much space in the kitchen and would be easily at hand.
The foldable step has hinges so you can lift it from the handle and get it to turn flat.. I used to do this and keep it behind the kitchen door so I could use it whenever needed but gradually I decided to keep the step out as it was small enough to not get in the way.
The step is long lasting and durable.. it does not feel weak to step on or as if it would break and so is made well. There are little grips on the top of the step so you would not slip when stood on it, but it is not big enough to be uncomfortable.
Overall I give the foldable step 5 stars, I think it's a handy product to have and would come in useful in the kitchen or around the house - especially for young children in terms of reaching for the sink etc.
There are other steps that can be bought and that I have had around the home, but due to the foldable aspect this step has it's advantages and allows easy storage.
Thanks for reading :)

This is a review of the Simply Foldable Step Stool from Dunelm which we recently purchased - three times over! Having achieved some success potty training our daughter we were ready to move on to the toilet seat insert and she needed a small step to help her climb up to the loo and also to the sink to wash her hands.
Purchase x 3
I happened upon a big display of these stools to the rear of our local Dunelm store and immediately thought that was what we were looking for so purchased one. On the way home we stopped at Nan's house and she said she could use one at her house (for various tasks as well as helping with the toilet training). So I left it with her and bought myself two more, one for upstairs and one for downstairs toilets as when the urge takes a toddler, there is no time to waste!
Available in seven colour options, the stool is fully foldable and can be stored flat when not in use. When constructed (which takes about two seconds) it is 22cm high and has a surface area of 29 x 22cm. The flat pack is really clever and the stool discretely hinged with a 150kg maximum weight as a bearable load. Made of plastic, the stool is wipe clean and all the colour come in a spotty pattern on the top.
We store our stool (s) flat and put them in front of the toilet or sink when our daughter needs to use them. They are solid and sturdy and will not collapse on you when folded out. There is a handle on the top which forms part of the seat of the stool. Ours gets used several times a day for this purpose but I would also use it for cleaning and reaching and it's far easier to store than a set of ladders (and less far to fall off!).
These are so cleverly made, there is a small finger trapping risk which makes it a little awkward as my daughter is always trying to 'help' and she goes straight for the stool to open it up and I cringe every time saying FINGERS!! To her so she is careful but a little young at nearly two to fully understand what the consequences are if she traps them. I liked the first step we bought so much that I went back and bought two more so have been pleased with them so far.
The step is very reasonable at £4.99.
I think this is something that most people would find handy in the home. I like all the cheerful colours available although you can also go with the more neutral white if you prefer! We have found ours so useful since buying I imagine they will stay with us for years. A great find and was definitely a repurchase for us!
