      Go and get one!

Me and my partner always snuggle under throws as soon as the weather get colder. Up until recently we'd had the same same old boring flat type fleece blankets, although these were fine and by no means worn it we decided to treat ourselves to some of these throws. What is it? The teddy bear throw is a thick fur fleece made from 100% polyester, it is available in green, brown, white, black, navy, blue, purple, plum, pink and cream. It is machine washable and you can tumble dry on a low heat (although I'd imagine they'd dry quickly naturally due to the nature of the material) the throw is available in two sizes, small which is £9.99 and large which is £19.99 - it is part of the dunelm "teddy bear" range which also includes: Teddy Bear Mattress Enhancer Teddy Bear Boudoir Cushion Teddy Bear Towel Teddy Bear Rug In use- We chose the "large" and bought one each, one large throw would easily cover a king size bed! It's huge and may be something to bear in mind should you not have a great deal of space to store them. We chose the green, which is a lovely olive green colour. We sat down for the first time a couple of nights ago and gave them a go, they feel extremely soft and luxurious and softer than any teddy I've ever seen. They really are like a big hug, and are very warm. So warm and comfy in fact we both woke up at 6am the following morning, still on the sofas under these! You really need to have a feel of these to truly appreciate the thick soft plushness, they are like a little bit of heaven! Conclusion- We were worried about about spending out so much on throws but incredibly glad we did, I feel as though they would be a worthy investment for any home, and possibly for a caravan or motor home due to the fact the keep you so warm! I wish we'd got them sooner, only thing I can fault is that they lose little bits of fur but I'd imagine after a wash they'd be fine. 5 stars!

A great purchase for me, my home and my cat!

When it comes to throws and blankets and that type of thing I am a very big fan of them. I used to live in a flat in which I really felt the cold in and suffering with M.E and Hypothyroidism I really feel the cold more than most anyway which is why I recently added to my collection and treated myself to one of these. The one I bought myself was a wine coloured one to keep in my living room though other colours are available for the same price that I paid for mine and those colours are Aubergine, Black, Cream, Chocolate, Duck Egg, Green, Taupe and Teal and there are two sizes to choose from which are Small (£9.99) and the Large which is £19.99 and they measure in at Small 127cm x 178 cm (50" x 70") and the Large: 220cm x 220 cm (87" x 87") and I bought myself the largest one of those. Whatever size you go for they appear the same its just the size that's different. Mine is huge and covers me very well indeed and gives me plenty of warmth and snuggle room. It is made from Polyester and is quite thick and fluffy with no fluff or bits coming off it. Its really fleecy feeling and soft and bouncy and this is suitable for machine washing and I can even tumble dry this on a low heat though it isn't suitable for ironing (not that you should even want to!) and I have washed and dried mine often and had no issues with doing so at all! This has turned out to be a really fabulous and cosy buy for me this one and it has turned out to be a really good value for money buy too as its just such great quality. It looks great, I can take it to bed with me and place it over my duvet or wrap myself in it and then cover myself in a duvet too or shove it around myself when I'm simply watching the tv for a bit of extra toasty comfort. Its quite simply a really great buy! Only available in Dunelm stores. This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.

Great throws that make excellent blankets

Our local Dunelm hasn't been there for very long, but we have made multiple trips to it and have adorned our house with various products from it. One such product is this Teddy Bear throw, designed as a throw but ultimately the best blanket we've ever had and used. We live in a house with big Victorian sash windows. At the moment, we have serious issues with the cold weather and trying to keep the house warm, and are seriously considering double glazing. However, until then we need a way of keeping nice and warm. Previously, we have used IKEA blankets which are quite good at always feeling warm, but these are just the best! The throws are light and fluffy, and I guess it's their texture which gives them their name. There is no Teddy Bear insignia on them or anything like that. The blanket has a slightly thicker edge to it, where the material seems to have been doubled and then stitched. The corners are similarly well folded over, and are gentle. Many blankets have more rigid corners but not this one. We find that the blankets have this beautiful softness to them, whereby in decent weather they're just really comfy, and in cold weather they are the best thing to snuggle up to. We have other blankets and of course our beds all have duvets on them, but in cold weather these are affected and actually get cold themselves. Dunelm's Teddy Bear throws maintain an ambient temperature and if you need warming up there's nothing better than snuggling up in one of these. Cold doesn't seem to permeate it and it keeps warmth in. This is a winner for me. It's also very comfy and well sized. There are two different sizes that these come in, and this is ideal for me. I'm quite tall and broad, and my feet feel the cold more than other parts of me. The smaller of these blankets is perfect for my wife and boys, but just too small for me. The smaller ones are 127cm by 178cm, slightly too small for me, while the large one, 220cm by 220cm, is absolutely perfect and I'm able to lose myself completely. It's like having an easy to manoeuvre lightweight permanently warm duvet. It doesn't do the same as a duvet would once it has warmed up, but it does give you that instant warmth and maintains it throughout. We've opted for brown with these, the same or near as dammit as the blanket from IKEA that we have. However, there are plenty of different colours here, and my wife has her sights set on a turquoise one. You could get a white one, green, cream, black, there are quite a few different shades and colours. Pricewise you're looking at £10 for a small, £20 for a large, not the cheapest blankets but very good value when you consider what you're actually getting. The throws wash very easily, and come out virtually dry. They maintain their softness and volume and withstand a lot of use. If you're after something to while away the last vestiges of a cold winter, get yourself down to Dunelm and pick yourself one of these. They're well worth it.

            brilliant, soft, throws

When we moved house we bought a new sofa and my mum bought us a few throws from Dunelm as a treat. They looked lovely when they first arrived as they were presented so nicely and I'm really happy to say that they are lovely now they're being used too. They are called teddy bear throw which may sound a bit odd but it is because they are so cuddly like a teddy bear! You cannot help but feel these when you first see them to see if they really are as soft to feel as they are to look at! They are too, they are very, very soft! The colours that we have is cream and turquoise (two separate throws). These are really lovely colours, the cream one is harmless enough and will blend with any other colours you have and the turquoise one is a very rich colour which makes a good impact. Our lounge is turquoise and it ties in nicely with our paint and curtains. It is quite a 'wow' colour in that it's not subtle but it is classy too. There were other colours available too, I think my Mum has one in an oatmeal/pale brown. We have these on our sofa to protect the sofa from the things our children spill on them and we have washed them, on a low heat, and they have come out fine. They look lovely against the sofa but they are also used for snuggling under too so more like a blanket. On cold evenings it's really nice to just snuggle underneath them and keep warm and because they are so soft it's very comforting. Hope (4) loves to snuggle on them when she's feeling tired. They are very good quality, no bits have come off it even when we have washed it. They remain in good shape and still very soft. I really am pleased with these, I like that we can use them for a practical purpose to protect the chair but also so that it looks good in our lounge and we can also use it to snuggle and be cosy. If you are looking for a throw then I recommend these, lots of choices in terms of colour and a decent size too. Two cover our sofa nicely. I think that these are the best throws we've had. 5 stars from us.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Not bad for the price

I've had my teddy bear throw from Dunelm for three years now. I bought it at Christmas time and picked out a magenta pink one when I was in the shop as I couldn't stop feeling how soft it was. I was so in love with it I went back and bought three more in different colours as presents for my friends that Christmas. Description The throw is incredibly soft and I used it over a chair to protect the chair which immediately covered the chair in pink bits of fluff. A couple of washes later and the blanket had collected itself together and didn't leave fluff everywhere any more but the finish had changed to a bit of a lumpy and matted finish and it didn't look quite so nice. The blanket is large and really thick, in fact it seems to get thicker every year! My thoughts I think my teddy bear throw is too thick to be classed as a throw really, it is more of a blanket and lovely to wrap around myself when it's cold. We have taken it on picnics as a blanket to sit on although it doesn't really fare well in the garden as the bits of grass and leaves stick to it and embed themselves so you have to spend ages picking bits off it. I have washed my blanket at least half a dozen times since buying it and I think this has made it a bit fluffier than it started out. Price It was a while ago but I think I paid between £10 - £12 for this blanket at Dunelm. Final thoughts I fell in love with the blanket in the shop due to how soft it was but when I unwrapped it at home it was too thick to be a proper throw in that it didn't melt into the corners like i expect a throw to do. However, it is still useful as a blanket or extra layer and we have used this on beds, chairs, sofa, garden so it has come in quite handy. I wouldn't buy another of these as it is quite chunky when not in use and does not fold down to an easily stored size. We don't use ours much in the summer but it's nice to have around in the colder months. The colour has stayed bright and vivid and I imagine this will be a blanket we own for many years to come.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Lovely as a blanket, not so good as a throw

I bought one of these Teddy Bear Throws last winter when browsing Dunelm Mill one weekend. I didn't particularly need one but after feeling how unbelievably soft they are, I just had to have one! They are a thick bouncy fleece type of material and in addition to feeling lovely to touch, they are nice and warm too. It's called a Teddy Bear Throw for a reason! In the store they were all haphazardly chucked in a huge container and a lot of them had lost their ribbons and tags (packaging) and come unfolded so it took a bit of digging around for me to find one that was in a presentable condition. I chose a cream one like in the picture however they were also available in other colours including red, purple, and black and probably other colours which had sold out too. Two different sizes were for sale and I chose the smaller one which cost £9.99. They are lovely and I think this is really good value. I used my throw to put on my bed in the winter for an extra layer of warmth. The only downside is that it often got sat on by me an others to watch tv etc and after time it became matted on the one side and got lots of fluff from thick winter socks stuck in it. No amount of washing or brushing made any difference to this and it looked scruffy so I stopped using it. So even though this is supposed to be a throw, I think it is much better to just use it as a blanket and not put it on beds or chairs where it will get sat on often and ruined. Despite this, I would still consider buying another as they are so nice and well priced. I would just put it away when not in use, buy a darker colour and make my boyfriend take his socks off before coming anywhere near it! I'm knocking a star off as it should be marketed as a blanket and not a throw.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              Supersoft and snug

I bought this throw for my daughter and loved it so much that I decided to buy one for myself too. It is called the Teddy Bear throw but don't let that put you off as it doesn't have a teddy pattern or anything and is just so called because the material resembles the softest of teddy bears. It comes in a range of different colours. I have both a teal one in my bedroom and a cream one in my daughters. Other colours include brown, red and green. It comes in two sizes small and large but I really think that if you want it for throwing over yourself and snuggling up in it then you need to get the large as the small is just too small for that. The large one costs £19.99 and I think it is well worth it. This is one of the softest things that I have ever felt and it feels so lovely and luxurious against my skin when I snuggle in it. I have it on my bed but on cold nights I tend to take it throw to the living room and snuggle in it while watching television and it does a wonderful job of both keeping me warm and also just helping me to relax. It is super light feeling and isn't heavy to wear when you are wrapped up in it and although it is really warm and snug it doesn't make me sweat and feel too warm. It is just really nice and comforting to wear and snuggle in while giving me some extra heat on cold nights. It also looks really good and much better than cheaper throws which get all bobbled within 5 minutes of owning them. This retains its shape and the fluffiness of it doesn't diminish. I have washed it a couple of times and it is looking just as good as when I bought it. I was worried the tumble drier might take some of the softness out of it but I needn't have worried about this as it didn't. The Dunelm Teddy Bear throw is a lovely throw that comes in a nice range of colours and feels super soft and cosy and also looks good as a household accessory. I have been really happy with the two I have and would recommend them to anyone.

                Disadvantages

                soft, luxurious throw

I'm one of those people that always feels the cold. My husband, on the other hand, is always hot. So, this means I usually end up with a blanket over me when in front of the telly on those cooler nights. This actually suits me fine as it is cheaper than heating the house and quite cosy too. So, for Christmas last year, my husband bought me this Teddy Bear throw from Dunelm for added comfort and cosiness. The throw costs £9.99 (small) and can be purchased in a variety of colours. I have it in cream but it is also available in 8 other colours including chocolate brown, black and aubergine. There is also a large size for £19.99, I am unsure of the size difference but given the small one is actually pretty generously sized and this is twice the price I would assume this to be very big indeed! The throw comes neatly folded with a black ribbon tied around holding it neatly in place - so it does make a well presented gift. As soon as you see it, you know it is going to feel luxuriously cosy. It just looks soft and warm - hence the 'teddy bear' name - it really does look like a teddy bear's fluffy coat. When you touch it, it feels incredibly soft on the skin, so you really do want to snuggle under it. On unfolding, I was surprised at the size. As I say, it is quite generous and easily covers me as a blanket with plenty to spare - I suspect it would cover the sofa nicely as a throw or the majority of a double bed. It doesn't actually feel that thick either - I was expecting it to be much thicker. Never-the-less, it is very warm. On cooler nights this acts as an incredibly luxurious blanket and it does prevent me from feeling the cold. I have also used this as a blanket for my young son when he has been under the weather and he loved to snuggle under this - with the soft fabric being really gentle on his delicate skin. I think it is probably the mum in me but, as soon as I saw it I was worried about how it would wash. The fabric looked so delicate that I was really concerned that once washed it would lose some of it's softness and also look worn. Knowing that it was cream, it was inevitable that it would need washing pretty soon! When the time came, I washed on a delicate cycle with fabric conditioner and this washed it up really well. It wasn't dirty or stained or anything (I suspect this may require a warmer cycle) so this washed it up well and maintained the softness. This is a really warm, soft blanket that feels and looks more luxurious than the pricetag would imply. It's become a definite must for me on cold evenings.

                A nice and warm blanket

There is a Dunelm shop just down the road from where we live so I do tend to go there to get household bits and bobs. When it was cold in November I went to Dunelm to get a throw, which would be multipurpose, I have used it on our bed, but also I sometimes sit in the lounge with it whilst watching tv. I choose the creamy colour, as shown above as it matches my decor best, but it was also available in a deep red, green, black and a chocolate brown in the store I went to. It also comes in two sizes, small and large, I got the large one which is 220x220cm so big enough to act as an extra blanket on a double bed. This throw is soft and cuddly - it really is a teddy bear. It feels really nice and is very cosy, keeping me very warm whether I am using over me whilst sitting on the sofa or on the few occasions I have used it on the bed. It is fleecy, ie. made from polyester, and I do find this material is very warm and efficient. So far I have only washed it once on a 30 degree wash and then tumble dried on a low heat. This blanket washes very nicely, it's "fur" hasn't become matted, and what I really like about this blanket and fleece in general is that it dries very quickly, it's a super material to have around kids. My large blanket was £19.99 but the small ones are cheaper at £9.99, about the size of a single bed, my sister has bought one which she uses to cover her dog's bed! This is a greet throw, or blanket and now I have it I wouldn't be without it!

                Keep yourself cosy this winter

On a shopping trip to our local Dunelm store some time ago I came across the softest, snuggliest and what appeared to be warmest blanket / throw I think I have ever seen, and I decided there and then that I must have it. At a bargain price of £9.99 I promptly picked up a nice cream coloured throw. About the Dunelm Teddy bear throw ======================== Upon first laying your hands upon this particular throw it's easy to see why it's called the teddy bear, as it's incredibly soft and strokeable, the sort of material you could imagine would keep you very warm on a cold winters day or night and it looks fit for a teddy bear. Upon getting the throw home I immediately removed it from it's packaging - held together by some lovely black ribbon and draped it over the bottom of my bed to add an extra cosy element to the bed. On the first cold evening in our new house I decided that the throw needed to be utilised and promptly settled down on the sofa in the living room in front of the telly. Within about 20 minutes I was practically cooking so I can confirm that this is a very cosy throw and gauranteed to warm you up in a short space of time and appears to really hold the heat. I have found myself on numerous occasions having to remove myself from underneath the blanket just to cool myself down. I have washed the throw on a number of occassions now and it never seems to lose its soft strokableness and continues to be a hit in our household - it even has the cats approval earning the prestigious title of his favourite blanket. My The throw itself is made of 100% polyester and is machine washable at 40 degrees but is not to be tumble dried, ironed or dry cleaned. The throw is available in a variety of colours including; wine, black, chocolate, taupe, aubergine, cream, duck egg blue, teal and green so can offer a complimentary addition to most decors. My throw lives on my bed the majority of the time and as it's cream it doesn't look out of place at all and goes with all of my duvet covers. At the time of purchase there was only one size available measuriong 127cms by 178cms but upon further investigation on a recent shopping trip to dunelm I found that they also had large version available measuring 220 x 220 cms retailing at £19.99. At this bargain price I think this blanket is great value for money and is very effective at keeping you warm on colder evenings and with winter fast approaching will be a great addition to your bedroom collection - ideal for keeping you cosy in bed or for snuggling up in front of the telly. Instead of turning up the heating buy a cosy blanket.

                  Ultra-soft throw from Dunelm Mill

Introduction Over the cold Winter months of last year and this I found myself using my central heating and electric fire more than I wanted to and it occured to me that I was wasting money heating every room in my home when there's only me who spends the majority of time in just my living room. On an evening there's nothing I like more then getting settled down to watching a bit of television or a film and I thought about buying a throw or blanket to snuggle in to when the nights were cold and I didn't want to have my heating blasting out all night. A visit to my local Dunelm Mill gave me the chance to select from a number of throws that were available and in the end I settled for the subject of this review, the teddy bear throw which at the time of purchase cost me £9.99 Teddy Bear Throw The name of this throw refers to the softness of the material used rather than its design or pattern, it's made from super-soft polyester which has a brushed texture that feels like and is reminiscent of a teddy bear's fur. Available in two different sizes, small measuring 127cm x 178cm and large at 220cm x 220cm I bought the small one as I wanted it for my living room to put over my legs whilst sitting on my sofa watching the TV, there were plenty of colour options to choose from and in the end I bought the black one as it matched the colour scheme of my room and I figured it would go well with my dark fabric sofa and other accessories. It comes simply packaged in just a cardboard sleeve which is easily removable and once unfolded the small throw is rectangular in shape and is plenty big enough to snuggle into whilst offering a great deal of warmth and cosiness. I bought mine back in Novemeber last year and over the Winter months it was used every day, whilst being the smaller sized option it was big enough to act as a single blanket and there's no denying just how soft the material is as it does feel luxuriously cosy once you've been sat with it over you for a while. It's not too thick that it becomes heavy but it acts a good barrier between you and the cold air and because the material is so soft it doesn't irritate the skin or become scratchy. It's certainly better quality than the fleece throws available to buy as the material doesn't snag or bobble and can be washed in a washing machine at a regular temperature without it affecting the quality of the polyester or the feel of the material. It's fine to bung into a tumble dryer so long as the machine is set at a low temperature but it's not suitable for ironing although I doubt anyone would want to iron a furry throw as it doesn't crease so therefore doesnt need ironing. It can of course be used however you want, either on a sofa as a material throw or on a bed to give an extra layer of warmth and for me it has been a great buy. It doesn't look cheap or out of place in my living room and it gives me exactly what I wanted when I went out looking for a throw, it's warm and comfortable and washes well and even after a lot of use mine still looks and feels as good as it did when I bought it so I would say that it's hard wearing and very durable. Compared to the thinner fleece throws that are available to buy this is a far better option, it provides a luxurious feel without a luxury price tag and is definitely recommended as far as I'm concerened. The Teddy Bear throw is available to buy both in store and online from Dunelm Mill, colour and size choices are available and comes highly recommend by me, thanks for reading my review.
