“ Brand: Dunelm / Type: Foot Cosy - Keeps feet warm „
~*~*~ Dunelm Pig Foot Cosy ~*~*~ ~ What is it? ~ That is a great question! I was with my brother whilst he was shopping for a present for his then girlfriend (she finished with him four days later :( ) when he spotted these slipper type things. She had a thing about frogs so he bought her a frog shaped one of these foot cosy's. I wasn't expecting one myself, however after I said how cute the piggy one's were my brother ended up buying one for me too. I was nicely surprised on Christmas morning as I hadn't been expecting it at all. So, to put this in an easy way, this is like a big giant slipper, although I wouldn't recommend trying to walk in it! If you do feel the need to try and shuffle around, I can recommend doing a jump - Just not when you have just made a cuppa! At first glance you could confuse it for a cuddly toy, but on closer inspection you will notice that the piggy part simply covers the front and at the back it is just open, like a slip on slipper. You simply have to pop your feet into the front to keep them toasty warm. The material is incredibly soft and fluffy, and it does a superb job at keeping you snuggly! ~ Practical? ~ In a word - No. I prefer to wear slippers as that way my feet stay warm in my slippers at all times, I don't have to remove my slippers to go to the loo or make a cuppa etc but with this of course, I do have to pull my feet out of the pig in order to be able to walk. But when I'm relaxing on the sofa in the night, watching a film or something, I do find it useful then. The bottom of this is fluffy so unlike my slippers which have harder bottoms it is not likely to mark the leather. So for keeping your feet warm it is practical. ~ Do I like it? ~ I love it! My 5yr old loves it more however and it now resides in his bedroom where it has been for the last two weeks or so, he likes to sit on his bed with his feet tucked in it whilst he is watching TV or whatever. I love it in the cold evenings when I am not planning on moving from the sofa for a good while, all snuggled in my pyjamas and dressing gown with my feet stuffed inside this. Lovely! It is quite large and my hubby can just about fit his size 10 feet into it comfortably. I believe my brother paid in the region of £7 - £8 for this which I think is really good value for money. I have owned it for 15 months now and I have washed it on a low temperature a couple of times, and I have also put it in the tumble dryer which ensures that it comes out all nice and fluffy. Thanks for reading :o) x
My husband and I always try to get a nik nak for each other for Christmas, something that we don't know about or haven't already picked out and last Christmas, I received this fluffy pig foot cosy from Dunelm, from my husband. Having been put away in the Spring/summer, it was only a month or so ago, that I came across it again at the bottom of the wardrobe and have had it out ever since, especially in these cold winter evenings. I think Dunelm is a great shop for reasonably priced items, and this pig cosy is no exception. My husban paid around £8 for this pig last year and this year, I have seen it in a variety of different animals in Dunelm including a cow and a sheep. THis foot cosy, does what its name suggests - it keeps your feet warm. Although I had always worn slippers and still do, there are times when I am sitting down and have maybe left my slippers upstairs and I simply pull out this foot cosy and I can sit on the sofa and keep my feet warm by sliding them into the slipper. This is like a double slipper, since both feet go inside, so you can't exactly walk around when you have this on, but then that is where your normal slippers can come into play. If I'm very organised, I have both to hand, so I get the best of both worlds. It was only when I brought this foot cosy out again this winter that my daughter took a shine to it, as last CHristmas she was too little to appreciate it. My daughter however, rather than putting her feet inside, likes to put her hands inside when she's watching tv, which is rather cute, so it does have another purpose! There is no doubt this item really does keep your feet cosy and warm, and if you are prone to cold feet, then you really should consider this for when you are sitting down and when your feet are likely to get cold. Its actually so cosy, that you really will not want to take your feet out, and I can get quite lazy in it sometimes, asking my husband to go and get me things rather than have to remove my feet from it. It is cosy, cute, fluffy and most importantly warm. All in all, for the price that my husband paid, I think this is a cute household product. No, it is not an essential product, but it is a nice cosy product if you tend to have cold feet, which I do.
My sister actually had one of these first and I was saying how much I loved it; so imagine by pleasant surprise on Christmas Day when I unwrapped this fluffy pig foot cosy. To look at, it actually looks like a big cuddly big and then when you look at the back you see the 'slot' where you put your feet. It's pretty to look at; the ; the pig has too eyes (like the old glass-type ones you get on teddys...not sure what these eyes are made of lol) as a sticky-out-snout. The pig also has floppy ears which I think children will like. Having looked on the Dunelm website, I can see that it is selling for around £7 which I think is good value for money. The foot cosy is very soft and fluffy - great for your feet from when they are tired and aching after standing on them all day. There is plenty of room in the foot cosy as the pouch is quite large. This is good because it means that your feet are not squished and you don't have to keep your feet together which may become uncomfortable after a while. Also due to its large size; this is perfect for all sizes of feet no matter how little or small. This is perfect for keeping tootsies warm in the winter. I keep mine under the desk (where my feet are always freezing cold) so this is perfect as it keeps them lovely and toasty. This is a lovely item and is available in 'dog', 'sheep' and 'duck' which I think is great! These foot cosies are only available from Dunelm. I would definitely recommend this foot cosy to all ages! I get incredibly cold feet no matter what I pop on them so I was really pleased when my bestmate/flatmate got me one of these though I was shocked when I spotted it coming into my flat along with her lol. This Pig Foot Cosy came from Dunhelm costing £7.99 and at first glance I thought she bought me a pig fluffy toy for some strange reason so was sort of relieved when I realised that I was meant to put my feet in it lol. It came unwrapped from the store and only comes in one colour and one size which is 34cm x 45cm (13" x 18") and its made from polyester. Its wide and rather bulky and light pink and fluffy to the most part of it (including the underside of it which is thickly padded) then to to the top of where you rest your feet in its a dark pink but a soft flat material that is padded as well for extra comfort. The head has two big brown button eyes, black eyebrows and a dark pink (again flat, brushed material) snout (again that section is padded to give the pig features). It has two moving ears that are big and flappy and it really can't be mistaken for anything but a pig! Not just does this have a novelty value it really is amazing quality. It's soft and robust and very large and so suitable for anyones feet at all as the area is huge. Not only that either it really is a brilliant foot warmer too and of course once its purchased you may even save on heating bills! The only issue with this is because it is so fluffy it is not suitable for washing or tumble drying and you can only sponge clean it which is a bit of a negative really as we all know that the feet can be smelly but I have sponge cleaned mine and had no adverse effects (which is recommended on the care label inside the pig). This is a brilliant novelty gift item which is also able to be put to good use but I'd say treat yourself to it! This keeps feet cosy and warm and my 'June' pig is very much part of my home and life, in fact my feet are stuffed into it now whilst I write this review lol. Only available in Dunhelm stores or from the website (www.dunhlem.com).
