==Dunelm Vintage union Jack Draught Excluder==
Having just recently moved into a new house we have literally had to decorate every single room. I have gone with the simple magnolia walls and decided to accessories each room to give it a different look and feel. Jack's bedroom has been done in a red white and blue theme (with of course copious amounts of Star Wars and Lego items thrown in for good measure). Luckily we have recently had a Denelm Mill store open in our local town and I must say that I don't know how we did without it.
One of the best items I have purchased from there (apart from blinds for the entire house) was this wonderful draught excluder for Jacks bedroom. Not only does it look super stylish and match in with the whole décor of his room but it also serves a great purpose and keeps the mysterious draught out from his room in the evening.
His bedroom door seems not to be the best fit and until we have the money to replace things like this the gap under his door needs to be covered over with this great item which he does seem to mind. It also doubles up as a door stop as in the day when his door is open I put this draught excluder in front of his door and it keeps it propped open.
I paid £12 for this item which isn't a bad price for an item such as this - you can get some cheaper than this but the quality wouldn't be as good. The size is a standard draught excluder size (35" by 9") and covers the full width of the door.
The draught excluder has a nice vintage look to it as the red, white and blue colours are a little distressed where the white is more of a cream colour and the material it is made from is a sort of towelling embroidered feel which works really well.
You can only surface sponge clean this item and it is not something that can be washed in the machine but on the whole I have found that it doesn't get dirty get a little dusty but I run the hoover over it (with one of the vacuum accessories) and this brings it up nicely without causing it any damage.
All in all I really like the look and the effect that this draught excluder has in Jack's bedroom. It works well with all his other union jack items and it also does the job it is intended for and blocks out the draught from under his door.
I think it is a well made product which is well deserving of a top score of 5 out of 5 stars and a high recommendation!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
I wouldn't say I'm a fan of the Royal family however I am proud of being British! Recently I was mooching around in Dunhelm (which is one of my favourite stores!) and I spotted this lovely looking draught excluder with a bit of a difference and I took a good look at it and liked the fact it is well finished and sturdy and so treated myself to one.
The pattern on this is a dark red, bright white and and a rich dark blue colour and appears embroidered on and it is on both sides. This is a rather long and plump filled draught excluder and the Union Jack design is stretched across the cushion.
It is made from man made fibres and is only allowed to be sponge cleaned down and is not suitable for machine washing or anything like that and certainly not able to be put in a tumble drier so you need to keep it somwhere really clean really to keep it in a nice condition!
It is only available in one size and that size is 22cm x 90cm (9" x 35") and that for me is actually almost the length of my doorframe and once I shove it there it stays put and stops draughts beautifully.
All in all I really like this item alot. It's so well made and colourful, its nice that the pattern is on both sides and other matching items are also available in Dunhelm such as cushions and things like that.
I am pleased with this, I do wish it was washable though but thats my only quibble about it This usually costs £11.99 but at the moment (in the Dunhelm sale) is available for £9.50 from the store or online (www.dunhelm.com).
