It was my lovely daughter's 4th birthday yesterday as you will know from my review about parties. We had the party at our home and along with all the party food and prizes I had to make sure that we had all the paper plates, cups, napkins, etc. Normally, I would buy these at Sainsburys but I was doing some shopping at yellowmoon.org and I spotted this Fairy Princess Party Pack. They looked pretty good and as they would help me spend the amount I needed to get the free postage I thought it was worth it.
The pack contains forty two itmes which is broken down into:
6 paper plates
6 paper cups
6 pace cards
6 invitation cards
6 hats and
They all have a very pretty princess design standing in front of clouds and a rainbow on a pink background. It was just the sort of design that was going to appeal to my daughter and all her friends.
The first thing to point out though is that if you are going to make use of the invitations you wil need to buy these packs well in advance. Athough the invitations are very pretty and are cut in the shape of a fairy, I did find them a little disappointing. The reason for this is that they are quite small and I found it difficult to have room to write all the party details on them. Having said that though all the party guests did turn up at the right place and on time.
The rest of the contents I did not need to use until the actual party. Everything was of good quality although I did think that the plates were a little on the small side. In fact, because all the children had made pizzas I had to find larger plates for those and we used these smaller plates for putting on the cakes and things afterwards. The paper cups were very solid and the napkins were big enough to wrap around a slice of birthday cake.
The blowouts were a nice little extra to put in the party bags so we didn't actually have the mayhem of twelve children blowing them at the same time at the party and making even more noise. Most children did wear their hats though and these were the typical cone shapes with a piece of elastic to go under the chin to make sure they didn't fall off! The only thing we did not make use of was the place names. THis was a nice idea but as we were having a picnic tea in the lounge they were not appropriate. Had all the guests been sitting down at the table I definitely would have used them. I'm sure though that my daughters will make good use of them when they are playing tea parties with their dolls.
This is a good pack and it's great to have it all sorted. I was somewhat surprised that it did not contain party bags because then that would pretty much have been all of these sorts of things that you needed.
It was a great pack for girls who like pretty pink things. We did have one lone boy at the party but I don't think he minded all the pink things too much. However, if you have more of a mix of boys and girls yellowmoon do other packs too. Each pack cost £5.95 and I bought two. I think this is reasonable value but I have not compared this price to what I would have paid had I bought all the items separately in Sainsburys.
Overall, this is a useful pack to buy and once bought, you can cross all those things off your list of things to think about. It's good that everything matches as well and I know my daughter thought they were all lovely. My only thought is that I would have preferred party bags rather than the invitations and then you could buy the packs just a few days before the party.
