Two months ago, we celebrated my sons 5th birthday and had a Fireman Sam themed tea party for him and his young cousins. Amazon offer a wide range of Fireman Sam party items and we bought a good selection including party loot bags.
What you get is a pack of 8 plastic bags which are presented in a thin, plastic outer wrapper. These loot bags are suitable for children over the age of three. Each loot bag measures approx 25 x 17cm.
At the moment, a pack of 8 loot bags can be bought from Amazon from seller Missy Moo. The current price is £1.45 with 10p postage. They can be bought elsewhere too for a similar price.
When these loot bags arrived, they fitted through my door as the package was so slim. I wanted to make up a party bag for each of the children who were coming to visit Boo on his birthday. These loot bags are very thin but are a good size for small treats. The handles aren't perfect. There is a loose flap of plastic which if pushed through too forcefully, does snap. I experienced this with the first bag as I assumed that the plastic flap needed to be removed - I learned my lesson with the other 7 bags!
Anyway, these loot bags look okay and the children found them to be attractive in appearance. I do feel that the manufacturer has skimped on the design of the bag though as Fireman Sam print is only at the front of the bag with the back of the bag being completely white in colour. An all over print would have been much better in my opinion. The print on each bag is very appealing to Fireman Sam fans and the design fits in with the other party items in this range. Jupiter the fire engine provides the backdrop whilst the various fireman appear happy whilst waving.
I pre-filled these bags the night before the party. Being so thin, they won't hold anything of much weight but I was careful not to overfill them. They open up well allowing the treats to be put inside easily and each child found them comfortable to carry. In each bag, I placed a little bottle of bubbles, a Fireman Sam pencil and various sweetie treats.
Whilst there would have been enough space for a piece of wrapped cake, I wouldn't have took the chance of adding anything extra to the bags as they started to show signs of straining under the weight of the contents. You couldn't fit anything large in these bags - only small party favours and nothing sharp either. The items I placed in each bag had smooth edges but the bag would most definitely tear if anything sharp was put in it.
Okay, these bags aren't of a high quality and could be much better in my opinion but they served the purpose of being filled with treats for the children to take home. Boo had a party bag too and was able to carry it around the house filled with little characters after his party. They are very cheap but I doubt I would buy them again due to how flimsy they are.
