A fantastic napkin that went down very well at my party.

I know Easter is a dim and distant memory, but I am now tackling the suggestions I have had processed for the products I used at the Easter party I held for my granddaughters' and other relatives. I found the perfect theme at www.partybox.co.uk where they stock the Garden Bunny range of tableware, highly decorated but not too twee and happily featuring a picture of a real rabbit as opposed to a cartoon version.

As there were lots of children attending the party I knew napkins were a must, I had a selection of non-festive napkins left over from Christmas so used these but decided whilst placing an order to grab a pack of the Garden Bunny napkins for the little ones to use. I was pleased to find they came in a packet of 16 as I had twelve children coming to the party and had been expecting to have to buy two packs of ten and end up adding to my glut of unused napkins. They are rather more expensive than I'd usually pay for napkins at £3.25 a packet, but as they fitted so beautifully into my table theme I didn't really mind the price.

The napkins are made of a slightly absorbent paper, although to be honest they were no good at all for wiping up spills as the surface of the napkin was a little too shiny. Minor spills and sticky patches were dealt with quite well, I found the napkins to be strong enough to wrap food in (chicken drumsticks to save greasy fingers) and also good for the children to wipe their hands and faces after eating. Mind you, most of the children loved the design so much that they kept them clean to take home and used the other napkins for the mundane task of cleaning themselves!

Each napkin measures 33cm x 33cm which is very slightly larger than other cheaper napkins and when folded they feel thicker and more substantial than most napkins. They're not particularly soft because of the shininess but really I find soft napkins to be more trouble that they're worth sometimes as they generally shed more fibres and break up easier. I was impressed that none of the colour was transferred off these napkins onto my surfaces or the children's skin, this can sometimes happen when using highly coloured napkins such as these so the fact that the colours are so resistant just proves what high quality these are.

Overall I think I picked the best napkin for my party. They not only look fantastic but do their job well and appealed to both the children and adults there, admittedly they are expensive for napkins considering you can buy several designs in Poundland now but for a once in a while purchase I think they're excellent.
