~Glade Magnolia and Vanilla~

Glade is a range of air freshener sprays available for your home. There are lots of different scents available for for now I will be discussing the Magnolia and Vanilla scent.

This air freshener is presented in a tall, cream and white coloured aerosol can featuring a pretty magnolia flower on the front. The can features an in-built spray top. Glade promise 'instant freshness and long lasting fragrance'.

~Price and Availability~

A 300ml can is available from supermarkets and some local shops may stock it. It is priced between £1.00 and £1.25 depending on where you buy it from.

~My Thoughts~

I find it very important to keep my home smelling pleasant and make use of various scented products in addition to cleaning my home. Whilst I favour reed diffusers and scented candles, I always have one or two air freshener sprays in my cleaning box to give my home a quick freshen up after cleaning or prior to visitors coming. It is always handy to have a spray in the kitchen or bathroom to get rid of any unpleasant aromas.

I usually opt to buy Febreze sprays as I prefer them over any others. I do only buy them when they are on offer though. Sometimes funds won't stretch to Febreze so a cheaper air freshener is purchased for my home. My local Premier shop sells the Glade air fresheners and I occasionally purchase a can of Magnolia and Vanilla as it appeals to me more than the alternative which is lavender.

The packaging has been updated a little and now looks a little nicer compared to the old style packaging. I have had a few issues with the odd can whereby the spray clogs up and refuses to work properly but this isn't always the case. When the spray top is fully functional it releases a strong mist of air freshener into the air. I wouldn't say it is as light as Febreze but it doesn't leave any wet marks on my furniture or a potential slipping hazzard on my wooden flooring.

This particular scent is nice enough. The scent is fairly strong and perhaps a little too heavy at first. The vanilla is the predominant scent and is sweet but perhaps a little more artificial than I personally like. The magnolia is very subtle but a delicate floral undertone is evident in the scent. This air freshener does a good job at refreshing my home quickly. The scent is evident and it masks any homely odours for a short while. It doesn't eliminate them like Febreze but is great as a quick refresher.

~Conclusion~

This Glade spray offers a quick boost of freshness and sweet scent around my home with very little effort on my part. The scent is no where near as nice as the Febreze scents in my opinion but this spray is a third of the price so I will let that slide. The scent starts to fade quickly and isn't noticeable after 30 minutes or so which is disappointing given the 'long lasting fragrance' claim. The actual freshness element is noticeable for a little longer after the scent has started to fade.

Overall this air freshener is worth the £1.00 but no more. It is of an 'okay' quality but nothing outstanding and not something I would opt to purchase on a regular basis. Because the scent doesn't last long, I find myself needing to top it up and therefore a can doesn't last very long in my home.

Thanks for reading :)

Summary: fine for the price
