Disadvantages: A bit bland in my opinion
Glade Aerosol Essence of Nature Magnolia & Vanilla
Our work toilets all have their own air fresheners in them (for essential reasons!) and the fragrance that is there 98% of the time is Glade's Essence of Nature Magnolia and Vanilla which is a very pleasant if not a bit too neural scent.
Glade is a household air freshener manufacturer which is a subsidiary of S. C. Johnson & Son that began production of household fragrances in 1956. Glade also produce candles, car air fresheners plug in air fresheners and carpet & room scents amongst other things.
The glade aerosol holds 300 ml of air freshener in its metal canister. It is long, thin and circular that has a flat base on which the aerosol stands. The can is coloured pale yellow and white with a nice magnolia flower on the front and fancy Glade writing. The top fifth of the canister is a plastic cap that is coloured pale yellow to match the fragrance. This cap is not meant to be taken on and off, it is protecting the aerosol tube and mechanism underneath.
To work the aerosol there is a push down tab on the plastic cap that releases the spray upwards into the air, so watch you're not about to spray it directly into your face! You should shake the can before spraying to even out the aerosol inside.
This Glade air freshener is called Magnolia & Vanilla and is part of Glades Gourmand & Spicy range of sprays which are all fragrances concocted to be sweet with hints of vanilla and spices entwined. The chief ingredient that you can smell in the spray is the base vanilla flavour, which is quite light, airy and warm smelling. It is also quite a sweet vanilla scent but not overpowering and stuffy, which is exactly the kind of balance that you want when refreshing the rooms in your house.
The magnolia scent is a lot more light and subtle than the vanilla as you would expect and brings a slight floral overtone to the air freshener. Again this is not overpowering and perhaps a bit weak compared to the vanilla.
This fragrance I would say is a bit too light and fluffy for me, however it is very pleasant all the same and does a good job of fragrancing a room for a good amount of time. I would say that this scent is lacking a bit of bite to it and could do with some of the spice that Glade suggest it has in their 'Gourmand & Spicy' range.
Overall I am more than happy to use this at work; however for my home I like something a bit more bold and fruity. For that reason I am giving it a rather bland 3 out of 5. This is available from all supermarkets and online for around the £1 mark.
Summary: Could do with a bit of bite but still a pleasant experience - 3/5
