~Glade~ Glade is a range of air freshener products offered by SC Johnson. When it comes to air freshener aerosols, Glade offers quite a few different scents including Clean Linen and Relaxing Zen. Limited edition scents include Spiced Apple and Cinnamon and Orange and Spice. Glade promise that your home will be left smelling refreshed thanks to the essential oils that they use in their sprays. The packaging of the regular scents consists of a tall, slender aerosol can with a colour theme based on the scent your have chosen. The limited edition, seasonal scents are presented in a slightly different can which features a trigger spray. ~Price and Availability~ Glade aerosols are available from local shops and most supermarkets. Expect to pay between £1.00 and £3.00 depending on which variation you buy. The regular cans hold 300ml whilst the limited edition cans hold 275ml. ~My Thoughts~ I cannot say that Glade is my favourite range of air fresheners but I do buy them occasionally if money is a little too tight to indulge in my beloved Febreze. I clean my home thoroughly but always have a range of scented products in the cupboard. I love all things festive and this extends to festive inspired air fresheners. I bought my can of Glade 'Air and Fabrics' in the Spiced Apple and Cinnamon scent two months ago but to be honest, it has hardly been used as I am not keen. The trigger spray releases quite a heavy mist which drops really quickly on to my surfaces and covers them in a damp layer which isn't pleasant. It isn't practical for using around most of my house as it makes my wooden flooring rather slippy. It doesn't do much for fabrics except make them damp which is disappointing. I bought this one as part of a half price deal but it is priced at £3.00 in Tesco. For this price, I would expect a gorgeous fragrance on par with Febreze but sadly it wasn't to be. The apple and cinnamon are both noticeable in the scent but they aren't overly pleasant at all. The scent is very heavy, cloying and there is a very strong, artificial feel to it. The scent is powerful enough to overtake any homely odours but I cannot say that the scent is as favourable and welcoming as I would have hoped for. I won't be buying this one again. I have tried a few of the scents available in the regular Glade range and have found the results to be more favourable but not outstanding. The other sprays are normally priced around the £1.00 so good value for money and widely available. Relaxing Zen is quite a pleasant scent which refreshes my home well. Magnolia and Vanilla is another one which is nice enough to use but fails to have a completely 'natural' smell to it which I personally prefer. ~Conclusion~ I would happily recommend the cheaper scents in this range as the sprays last well and provide ample refreshment for my home. The more expensive Spiced Apple and Cinnamon scent is not worth the money as it smells so cheap and is too overbearing to use. Even the Airwick festive scents are much more appealing and much cheaper! Overall the Glade range is mainly affordable and the cheaper scents offer a purse-friendly way to scent your home for a short while. Just don't expect outstanding, authentic aromas which last all day! Thanks for reading :)
When you are looking for freshness in your home the quickest and easiest thing to clean is the air in the rooms as this can build up odours which remain until they are either cleaned (broken down) or replaced with fresh air through opening windows which is not always something which is feasible to do when it is cold and wintery. So what can you do to clean the air? Glade air fresheners are designed to do exactly this and leave a fresh fragrance in the place of the nasty odours they get rid of but do they manage to do what they are designed to? Pros: Glade airosoles offer an quick and easy way to freshen your rooms as you simply spray and they will then work their magic. These air fresheners use Oust technologies to break down the odours in the air rather than just try to mask them and thanks to this you can feel sure that the smell is gone for good. The fresh fragrances that the spray leaves behind means that your rooms feel inviting and refreshed after each use so these are perfect to have around for when you have people visiting. The sprays are available from most supermarkets and normally range in price from £1.50 to £2.50 which is exceptional value for a product which is going to elimanate odours in the air and leave a fresh smell. The fact each aerosol will last you for quite a while makes it even better value and so I have regularly used these thanks to the fact that I know it will take hardly any spray each use. The aerosols come in very well designed can which allows for you to quickly and easily spray thanks to the well placed trigger at the front end which you simply pull lightly with your forefinger to use. These Glade air fresheners not only leave a clean and fresh fragrance but also manage to leave your air feeling cleansed thanks to the Oust technologies working at removing and breaking down the odours. The fresh smell lasts for ages too which I have found other air fresheners just don't. Negatives: None Overall the Glade aerosol air fresheners leave your room feeling like the air is very clean and fresh thanks to the fact they work on removing the odour particles before giving a fresh fragrance to the room. Great value for money thanks to how well these air fresheners work and how long they last is an added bonus. For me the main reason I love to have one of these in my flat at all times is if I find out I am going to have a visitor at short notice as I know I can trust this to leave the air feeling cleaner and smelling much fresher.
I try as much as possible to run a clean and tidy household (although it can be hard when you are working all the time!!) and I find these Glade aerosols give a fantastic finish to a cleaned and tidied room!! There are a lot of different Glade products.......aerosol sprays, candles, plug-in scented oils etc. However, I find that the aerosol suits me the most and I find it great value......they come in at the excellent price of £1 at most top supermarkets and they last quite a while!! The aerosols come in plenty of different scents and I have personal experience with Lilac Spring, Clean Linen, French Vanilla and Tropical Mist with my personal favourite being French Vanilla. The actual mechanism is very simple - it sprays outwards like a deodorant spray. After you spray, the scent lingers in the room from anywhere between 3 to 6 hours. However, while the oil-scented candles or the plug-ins give a constant output of fragrance, I personally prefer the versatility of the aerosol spray. You can spray it wherever you want, whenever you want and you can top it up with as much or as little as you want. On the other hand, there are some negatives. I always try and avoid using the sprays before I have visitors as they are not everyones cup of tea. Some people can't stand them and I try never to force them on anyone!!! Also, if you spray too much they can be quite overbearing (depending on the particular fragrance) so you just need to be careful that you do not spray too much!! I think they are the best product from Glade as opposed to all of the plug-ins and oil candles - overall, I think that these aerosols are excellent value and provide exactly what they say on the tin
I must admit I buy a good few air freshening products as I like my home to have a distinguished smell. I first started using the plug in air fresheners and I was extremely happy with them. They give a continual flow of desired fragrance throughout the day meaning the home smells lovely all day. The plug in variety is also lovely when coming in from work to a beautifully smelling home however they can prove expensive and they are not for every ones taste as they can be somewhat perfumed. The next air freshener I opted for was the fragranced candle but after one attempt with this I decided it wasn't for me. I was actually surprised how a little candle could fill the room with so much scent however I just don't like the idea of using a candle. I decided I needed to try a spray that I could use every now and again when needed. I cook a lot of fish at home and I do try and make healthy meals from scratch as often as I can which can also lead to smells such as onion and garlic and since I live in a small flat these smells can reach each room. The reason I purchased the aerosol was due to these lingering smells which isn't very nice when people come to visit. I decided to opt for the glade 2 in 1 air freshener in the clean linen variety as the can was the first thing to attract me. It was a lovely baby blue colour. The can size is 300ml and it displays a picture of an open window by clean linen. The second reason on deciding on this particular freshener was the price it was only £1.20 which was a bargain considering I have paid over a pound more in the past for air fresheners. The evening I got the air freshener home I was expecting company so about 30 minutes before they arrived I went round each room spritzing into the centre as advised on the tin plus adding a few extra squirts here and there. I loved the glade scent immediately it did strangely give the feeling of freshly washed linen. I'm not actually sure what the scent is as I haven't smelled anything quite like it although I'm sure it has hidden vanilla notes. I have also used this spray after cooking items such as fish and I must admit it does mask them rather well. They spray doesn't take away the scent altogether but it does mask it and makes sitting at home a lot nicer after cooking instead of me having to open all the windows in the middle of the winter. Overall this spray is well priced and I do think it works and definitely freshens up a room. A few of my friends are now using this and they all agree they love the scent. I would definitely recommend.
On my recent visit to my local supermarket I purchased a can of Glade Magnolia & Vanilla air freshener. There are many brands and aromas currently residing on the supermarket shelves but I was looking for something with a subtle fragrance that really did mask nasty odours. I recognised Glade as a trusted brand name and felt that the scent of magnolia & vanilla sounded very pleasant indeed. As promised on the front of the can, this product freshens and fragrances. Simply shake well and point the can towards the centre of the room and spray. This then eliminates all those nasty smells and leaves a very pleasant aroma that certainly isn't as overpowering as some other brands that I have tried in the past. Other varieties available in this range are Lavender, Lily Of The Valley and my personal favourite, Clean Linen. Do bear in mind though that this product is extremely flammable and should be stored and used with caution. All the relevant safety data is printed on the can. It is also advised that this is not to be used on fabric and of course, should always be kept out of the reach of young children. I certainly recommend this air freshener. It's currently priced at 99p for a 300ml can in ASDA at the moment. You can buy cheaper but considering how well it works, I personally feel that it's good value for money.
Glade aerosols are my favourite at keeping my home smelling fresh. In particular the clean linen scent.. it really does smell like fresh clean linen. when i get home from work i love to spray around the house and it instantly gives that fresh clean smell without all the hard work of having to run the hoover round especially after that long day at work. Also great in the kitchen when you have "accidently" burnt something as i regulary do.. or cooking something smelly.. a few sprays of glade and it gets rid of all the evidence .. These sprays are great at accompanying the plug in glade air scents which also come in a range of scents, although they are a bit expensive at approx £5 the aerosol gives the same effect at just under £1 . Only one wish though sc johnson? - can you put something in it to make the smell last longer?
I was on my weekly shop as always with a big list of things that had sprung to mind that I needed to buy and on that list was air freshener. I am not someone who bothers about brands with something like this, as long as it smells nice and isn't too overpriced then I am happy. I went down the aisle in my local supermarket and was soon surprised to see that there was actually quite a big range. There are so many to choose from, there's your plug in ones that the heat spreads the scent about the room, then there's the fake candle one that has a battery and has a candle like glow but is scented and then you have your ones you put anywhere and pull back the lid to reveal the smell but I just wanted a simple spray. I opted for the Glade spray as it was probably the cheapest but this wasn't my main reasoning, it was because they did the smell that I liked the most. The packaging on the can is quite nice, it stands out on the shelf; well I chose the Magnolia & Vanilla spray so it overall has a pale yellow colour to it. The picture is of some flowers a floral scene which is pretty and relaxing, it has an almost paradise like look to it. The blue sky behind is also warm and on top of this is the Glade logo. The spray comes in a 300ml spray can. On the back of the can, are the instructions of how to use. It clearly states to shake the can beforehand and then to point it centrally in the room. It states for safety to not have it in contact with sunlight or temperatures over 50 degrees and to keep out of reach of all flames and out of the way of children. Being at university, there are a lot of people who don't seem to open windows and cause a staleness smell to creep in which is part of the reason why I bought Glade. I always air out rooms but this gives a fresher, nicer smell to any space. Also, even though no one is meant to smoke indoors there is always one who never listens which again is why I needed spray because I hate the smell of smoke, it lingers and isn't pleasant which is one of the smells in life I hate. I hoped this would get rid of these smells because otherwise I'd have to find an alternative. In the past I have used Febreze but I do find the smell a bit too heavy even though it does get rid of the odours around. So I begin to shake the spray can as directed to on the can and then push down the button at the top to release the spray. A powerful spray comes out while the scent rains down over the room, engulfing it in a sweet but quite light vanilla scent. The smell is very refreshing and a lot better than before, even though after about 15 minutes the smell does fade, with it the smell does to so that you are left with no musty or smokey scents to creep back into the air. As I have mentioned, I do use this spray in all different smelly scenarios to really test it and to see how effective it is in more than one situation. It definitely tackles everything thrown at it, I've used it over smoke, mustiness, unpleasant smells, smokey kitchens and so on and it has gone sweet and then drifted back to a normal fresh smelling air again. It says it is a 2 in 1 fragrance but I don't really smell the magnolia, this could be because I love the smell of vanilla and it probably is a more overpowering smell. I have seen these sprays at most supermarkets and healthy and beauty stores where you would most likely pick up an air freshener. There are a few different smells in the Glade Aerosols range, obviously Magnolia & Vanilla, Clean Linen and Soft Petals; I cannot find the last one in the range. I picked my Glade Aerosol up at Tesco and it cost me £1. I have had my spray for a good few months and it had lasted really well. SC Johnson make the Glade products so for more product information, click onto the official website at http://www.scjohnson.co.uk/ here you can click on the room you want a spray for and then you are given the options of further information and you can click Aerosols. I would say though that there is not a lot of information on the website about the aerosols which is a bit useless if you were looking to find more out. As said before, I have used a lot of sprays but Glade have been a brand that have probably worked the best in cancelling out bad odours and I like the scents in their range. They offer good long lasting sprays for a good price.
There are a range of aerosols available in the Glade selection including Clean Linen and Magnolia. I've had mixed experiences with both scents mentioned. Clean Linen smells very fresh, but doesn't seem to last long after being sprayed. The smell doesn't really relate to fresh laundry to me, but thats probably down to personal preference. The Magnolia scent however lasts a lot longer and I much prefer the scent. In terms of value for money, its good. A can took around a few months to run out and that was with me spraying it a fair few times. I suppose because the scent hangs around a lot longer than other products means you have to spray less frequently. Overall, a fantastic product. Only disadvantage I can think of is that the scents aren't consistently good. However, you get to know which is right for you. Definatly one to try and recommend.
I have used Glade air freshners for a while now and find them very effective and eliminating smells in the house. I have 3 cats, which means 3 litter trays so believe me it gets smelly at times! I love that Glade produce this aerosol in so many different scents, 9 to be exact, and each one is lovely. Some of my favourites are fruit explosion and vanilla mint cream. The aerosol can's are nicely presented and each can is decorated with things relevent to that scent. The Glade range actually claim to elimate odours and not just cover them up. I don't know if this is actually true as it would be pretty difficult to find anything that could cover up the smell of cat litter, short of changing it, but it does leave a lovely smell in the air meaning you can no longer smell the bad odours. The scent does last for a couple of minutes, it lasts longer then some cheaper air fresheners but for the price really I would of liked it to last a little longer. However I do really like this range and will continue buying it, I like to mix and match the different scents. I'm sure you'll find a scent to suit you from their range.
This review is on the glade air freshener , clean cotton, its a mainly blue aerosol can, 300ml with glade on the front and a picture of a window and folded washing. The spray itself comes out through the top of the can unlike other sprays which come out the side. it smells really fresh like fresh washing just out of the machine, a lovely fresh clean smell. I use it all over the house, its good for when you,ve been cooking , also good if you have animals , gets rid of the bad odours . a couple of sprays i have found lasts for ages and gets rid of those unwanted smells . I bought mine from wilkinsons its normally 79p but they had a offer on where you could buy two for a pound. I have saw it in various other supermarkets and shops too, prices vary though . I would recommend this spray . Thanks for reading
I should probably start by saying that Glade air fresheners in general are very good and I have used many in many various forms. The aerosol that I am reviewing here however is putrid and disgusting and one I would recommend everyone gives a wide berth. I am talking about the Magnolia & Vanilla 2 in 1 from Glade which smells like a sweetie shop which you might think is good but believe me it is not. The taste of vanilla is very nice but the smell of it deliberately enhanced into an air freshener is horrible. This scent is far too overpowering and you can actually taste it after a while even if you have only sprayed a tiny amount, there are many others to choose from in the glade range that are far better than this one such as Lilac spring, Country garden or my favourite clean linen. Whichever one you buy will come in a 300ml spray can and will cost you between 75 and 90p depending on where you buy it. I always buy mine from Asda at 78p and have often got them on a 2 for a pound deal which is a brilliant bargain but the day I picked up the Magnolia and Vanilla one was a big mistake and I urge you not to make the same mistake I did.
Glade Aerosols!! I love Clean Linen and Soft Petals! Everyone loves the smell of freshly washed clothes and with glade's air freshner you can have this whenever you like without turning the washing on. The glade aerosols have long lasting smell with a simple spray. The air freshners themselves cost less than a pound. I tend to spray my airfreshers if I have guests and normally every day and everyone seems to comment on the smell. The clean linen comes in a blue bottle and the soft petals comes in a pink bottle, the soft petals fragarence is also really nice and fresh. Both bottles hold 300ml's however you only need a small spray and this will last for hours and hours. Glade also do other fragerences, of these vanilla is my least favourite. Overall a good product if you want to spruce up the smell of your house quickly and cheaply. give it a try xx
As I have my own house now, I need my rooms to smell nice and clean when I haven't the chance to open the window as I've been at work all day or it's been too cold to. Also I have a lot of my partner's friends over. They seem to love leaving the seat up but also smelling out my bathroom or sometimes it's just my mum's cat using his litter tray. My mum has always use Glade Air Fresheners. The smells of Glade reminds me of home so I decide to go into Wilkos and get some. ...The Range... Glade is made by the company SC Johnson. Glade offers lots of different freshening products. In the Glade Air Fresheners, there are many different fragrances. The ones that I seen regular on the shelves in the shops are Magnolia & Vanilla, Clean Linen, Lavender, Lilly of the Valley and Refreshing Spa. On their website, there seems to be more fragrances. Apple and Spice, I've only seen it in the shops near Christmas. The others ones I've never seen them on the shelves. Maybe my Wilko don't like to stock some of these or the fragrances are meant for other countries. At work, we also use Glade and our company sends us the industrial cans and we have Pacific Breeze and Marine, which I've also not seen in the shops. That could be due to the fact that both of the cans have been there ages and maybe they don't make those fragrances anymore. ... The price ... When I got them in Wilkos, they were 69p each. I bought Magnolia & Vanilla and Clean Linen. I have seen them in Tesco and Adsa for around 90-£1. ...Packaging ... The cans come in all different colours dependant on the fragrances. Magnolia & Vanilla has a pale yellow colour. On the front of the can, there's a beautiful picture of some magnolias and vanilla pods. Clean Linen has a powder blue top colour and has a lovely picture of clean linen and open window leading to fresh grass and the sunshine. Both cans are the same in their layout. There's a logo that says 2 in 1 - Freshens & Fragrances. At the bottom of the can, there's the Johnson logo. The cans are both 300ml. The ones we have at work are 500ml. ... Using the Product... On the back of the can, it says to shake well. To freshen the air, point can towards centre of room and spray. This is product is not recommended for use on fabric. Then there's all the usually information. For example, protect from sunlight, do not spray onto or near a naked flame etc. So I follow the instructions. I grab the can and put my finger on the button, hold it up to the centre of the room and spray. A short gust of product is sprayed out. Looks a lot like mist and as it settles, you start to smell that wonderful fragrance. ...The Smell... Magnolia & Vanilla - At first, you smell the vanilla but as the spray begins to settle, you smell an undertone of Magnolia. It's not too sickly but just right. Clean Linen - it's smell exactly like I would imagine. It smells of washed clothes in a lovely fabric conditioner. ... Length of time ... The fragrance lingers for about an hour but it also banishes the other smells for a lot longer so even though you can't smell it, it's still doing the job. ... My thoughts... I notice that my rooms smell a lot fresher. Sometimes, I just spray it to smell the wonderful fragrance but I do say that it definitely works in the bathroom as that's where we mainly use it. If you also get the glade plug-in in the same fragrance, your house will smell wonderful. I definitely recommend it as it works and it smells nice.
