“ Brand: Glade / Product Type: Air Freshener „
I have several of these candles, in fact probably most of the ones that they do. I use them all the year round, cosy in winter and fresh in summer. You do not need these candles to be lit to know that they are there as you catch a whiff when you walk past. This particular one is on my bathroom windowsill at the moment and the air catches it when the window is open. It has a refreshing summery scent, which is uplifting and slightly tropical. It's a nice one to have on when you're in the bath. These candles seem to burn for hours and hours and although I've never counted I would guess that they last the 30 hours that the packaging claims. Unlike some candles these do fill the room with scent rather than just the little area where the candle is situated. The candle is bright and cheerful looking, which goes well with the scent and puts me in mind of carnival colours. It is advised that you burn the candle for 2-3 hours at a time this enables the wax to burn down evenly without creating a well. If you don't leave it on for long enough to burn evenly then you will not get as much burn time as you will burn down the wick but not use up the wax. The added bonus with these candles is that the glass container holds all the wax inside so there is no wax falling down on things and ruining surfaces.
I love Candles and will often have either a scented Candle on in the house, or use a Tealight with a solid perfume block. There's just something nice about a gentle scent teamed with a nice glow from a Candle.
The Glade Candles are often on offer in Asda and the range was £2 each or 2 for £3.
After having a sniff of this in the shop I decided to get one.
This is packaged in a cardboard sleeve but a part of the Candle is sticking out of the side of it so you can see the glass holder and you can sniff the scent. The jar this is in is a bit brighter than other Glade Candles i've had. This is striped and is a mix of blues, yellow, pink and green. Not gawdy, but that subtle either.
Now to the scent of this. It is lovely. It is a nice light scent. It seems to be a mixture of tropical fruit, fresh air, and a kinda sunshine scent. You know how the air smells on a nice warm balmy day? Well that is it in a jar.
I would say the scent starts to come through after about 10 minutes and gentle scents the room that it is in. It's good that it isn't that heavy a scent, but you can smell the different scents in this.
It's hard to say how long this Candle lasts, as I tend to just have this on for the odd hour or 2. I would say this would last approx 10 hours, but again I could be wrong.
A lovely scent for a good price. I love the Glade range of Candles and scents, and would buy this one again.
When entering a room that the candle is lit in, I want to be able to smell it straight away, for the smell to be strong and to make me comment on how gorgeous it smells, if it doesn't do this then I don't consider it to be a success and think it shouldn't class itself as a scented candle, luckily this one can, the scent is beautiful and fruity!
It was the bright colourful packaging of summery stripes that drew me to this first of all, that and the fact it was on offer in Wilkinson's. They usually retail at around £3 but this one only cost me £1.97! I might go and stock up while they are on offer.
It claims to give a summer feeling to your home and it does just that! Filling the whole room with a "fresh and sparkling fragrance with a hint of lime and red berries" I can detect a slight wiff of lime, but the most prominant scent is of the red berries, strawberry being the most prominant.
Even from first sniff, before it's even lit you just know that it's not going to disappoint and that the smell isn't going to be a weak and wimpy excuse of a candle. It recommends for best results to burn for 2-4 hours, and the longer it burns the better and stronger the scent seems to get.
Well worth the money, even if you get one from the supermarket at full price. The jar can be re-used as a tealight or votive holder when finished, it looks very pretty, especially nice in a kitchen! Just put it in the freezer to get rid of any excess wax left in the jar, you'll find it just drops out.
I will be trying more scents from this range as I am very impressed with this one!
GLADE ISLAND BREEZE CANDLE
This is a candle which is very refreshing. On the packaging it says it is a 'fresh and sparkling fragrance with a hint of lime and red berries to give a summer feel to your home!' I agree with the summer feel to your home part but I think it smells more like orange to me. You are advised for best results to burn for 2-4 hours however an hour is always enough for me. Like any candle if you only light it for a few minutes and blow it out and repeat this a few rime there will be a hole in your candle and you will not get to use it al. I feel like it is such a waste when this happens.
This candle is harmful to aquatic organisms. You need to follow the instructions to avoid harm to yourself or others. Make sure to keep out of reach from children or pets, as it could be harmful to them. Also make sure to keep the candle away from draughts, keep it on a heat resistant surface, flammable materials and sources of heat (such as fires, ATV's, electrical equipment).
Trim wick to 5mm before lighting. Keep the jar out of the way of foreign objects. Do not move the candle while the wax is still a liquid, wait until it hardens. Also do not move while lit as the jar can become hot and you could burn yourself. Never leave you candle unattended as a fire could start. When blowing out the flame make sure to do so carefully so not to unsettle the wax as it could stick to you and burn you. It is for indoor use only.
It contains octabbenzone and 4-(4- hydroxy-4-methylpentyl) cyclohex-3-enecarbaldehyde. These ingredients could possibly cause an allergic reaction.
I have to admit the packaging instantly drew me to this candle, as it is very bright. The candle comes in a box with a corner missing in it so you can see the candle. It has a picture of the candle with a lime on top, which are all in bright tropical colours. It has the glade logo on the top and the two sides of the box are blue and white, which is eye-catching. The candle itself comes in a jar, which has what seems to be a sticker on it. The sticker has different coloured lines on it (cream, yellow, blue and pink) which are all brightly coloured. You can see the bright orange candle in-between these lines. The sticker also has a slightly multicoloured sparkle tinge to it. The jar looks very attractive and eye-catching sitting in any room. It is one of the reasons why I bought it I have to admit.
I like the glade candles in general even though they are slightly more expensive I feel that they last longer giving you more value for money. The particular candle cost me £3 and lasts up to 30 hours. Although I feel that it only really has lasted me about 20 hours but I suppose this will vary. I like the smell of this candle, as it is fresh and fruity. It gets bad odours out of your room giving it a pleasant smell in the process. I feel personally that it has an orange smell with lime mixed with it. This may be all in my head as the candle is orange itself. The box says that it has a lime smell with a mixture of berries but I can't smell the berries at all. I feel that I got good value for money as the candle lasted a long time. There is no mess as it already comes in a jar so I don't need to worry about finding something to set the candle in and you can keep the jar once you are finished and reuse it again. I would recommend this Island Breeze candle to anyone as it has a nice smell but this really comes down to personal taste.
A fresh and sparkling fragrance with a hint of lime and red berries, to give a summer feeling to your home.
