Glade Fresh Litter:
Ah the smell of a summer breeze wafts from the litter tray since I got this.... ok well it is not that good but it smells a lot better than cat poo. Our cat, the crazy little monster that she has, has always been very picky when it comes to where she will go to the loo but as an indoor cat there is only one place that we will tolerate and despite her thinking better of it and using behind the TV or right beside her litter tray the only place she is allowed to go is in the litter tray.
Our cat though will not use the litter tray if the litter has not been changed in the last ten minutes (ok so I'm exaggerating) and it was not economical to change it as much as she liked and this meant the choice of using the smelly litter tray or the nice clean carpet and this wasn't much of a competition for her. We initially used an alternative product to freshen her tray and while this worked I can no longer find it, however on a recent look through Amazon I saw this product listed at a bargain price of £12 for 12 units of 500g so I snapped it up.
The set of 12 arrived promptly and were well packed in bulk packing but this was easy to get into. The individual units are in a green tub about 15cm tall and are convenient to store upright as they don't fall over but could also be stored on their side as they don't leak. We straight away cleaned the litter tray and put in fresh litter with a sprinkling of this stuff, it was clear from the powerful aroma that it was potent stuff and that we didn't need to use much at all to cover the (awful) smells she makes. Sure enough it is a month later and the litter tray has been used and cleaned numerous times and we are not only still on the first tub of Glade Fresh Litter but still have some left in it , which means for £12 we have enough to last us over a year. There is no way however that I would ever consider leaving the litter tray without cleaning it for more than a week as after this length of time the smell of the glade, although still present, has stopped beating the combination of the smell of cat pee and poo.
Does the product work? Yes it does and it is definitely worth the price paid for it and more, the smell coming from her litter tray has been much less pooey and much more neutral which not only do we find nice so does the cat, that makes us smile and her purr, if they could only make something that cleans the litter tray as well.
Summary: Keeps the litter tray smelling fresh
