The product
The product itself comes in a plastic tube container that you open at the top to reveal an opening to let the powder fall from. It is designed to eliminate odours around your home and as I have 3 children under 5 a husky dog and all the other day to day smells created by al of these combined I like to have a spring clean once a month and clean the whole house from top to bottom. This product promises to help eliminate these smells and leave your house smelling fresh.
It is available in two different fragrances but I prefer the citrus blossom as both my husband and I favour this scent and it gives more of a natural smell although you can of course tell it is artificially given. It costs 97p for a 400g container at my local shops where as in the supermarkets I find it can see for anything up to £1.80 so it is best to shop around.
How to use
To use it is simple sprinkle the powder from the tube as evenly as possible across your carpets you it does pour out rather fast and you have to be careful that it spreads around fairly rather than having piles in areas as this makes it harder to vacuum up. Then you simply leave it for a few minutes before you vacuum to allow it to settle and spread the scent and then you are good to go and can begin to vacuum it up. It does leave a white substance on your carpet so when you vacuum up it is easy to see where it still lies and of course if you are vacuuming a whole room anyway you will pick it all up. It comes up very easily so no extra effort is required you just go about as you usually would.
Results
As soon as the product comes out of the bottle there is a strong smell of sweet citrus that hits straight away while it is still lying on the carpet I can find it to be rather over powering and so I tend to wait until my children are sleeping so I know they will not be running through it and get on with other bits around the house. I find the longer you leave it the more scent it leaves behind so I tend to get on with something else and let it settle for 5 - 8 minutes and then come back too vacuum it all up. After all the powder is removed not only do you have a nice clean carpet from vacuuming but there is a lovely scent left behind that fills the whole room but it is not as over powering as you first think which I think is great. Although the smell from the powder itself disappears rather fast it does claim to contain a deodoriser so that it covers other smells that linger.
Opinion
I think that this product is fantastic although as our downstairs is rather large and it is only our hallway we do not use this on I can easily go through 2 tubs of this if I am using it on my whole house I do think it is worth it especially as I only use this one or twice a month. It makes a nice change from plug in sprays and although the smell is not really long lasting it still works well enough for the price.
It is simple to use and provides simple results I would recommend giving this a try if you do not like it at £1 a tube it is not really bank breaking and you never know it might be a new addition to your household routine.
