Do the shake and vac and put the freshness back!

Do you remember those television adverts from years ago, probably the 80's, that showed a housewife doing a little dance and singing the above line of the song whilst she shook this powder all over her carpet? For some reason I loved this advert when I was a kid and would pretend to shake and vac with the parmesan cheese, that is until the lid came off one day and it went all over the kitchen and I got in trouble with my mum and dad!

Well I remembered that product and now use it on my own carpets although I use the proper product and not packaged cheese!! Shake and vac is a powder with an odour eliminator which you spread over your carpets before you vacuum in order to lift dirt and make them smell nice. We have a cat and a dog in our house and they like to come upstairs where we have carpets and generally just lounge about. They do get smelly from time to time so I find shake and vac really helps to bring the freshness back to my carpets. 

It's a really easy product to use. Basically you just shake the bottle over the carpet, getting a good coverage over the whole area, leave it there for a few minutes and then vacuum it up. I find the longer you leave it there the better as it has a chance to really smell up the carpets. 
Glade shake and vac comes in a number of different flavours and at the moment I am using the citrus blossom fragrance which is nice and light. I find this gives my carpets a nice clean smell and I think the whole floor looks a bit cleaner and nicer after I have used this product. The smell is not overpowering, it's just enough to smell nice and clean. 

A bottle costs £1.60 which I think is good value as if I do my carpets about once every two weeks I can make this later a couple of months so it's very economical and a household product that I recommend.
