Glade Shake N Vac
Advantages: Smells good, cheap, freshens carpet
In a recent spring cleaning attempt I purchased some of this Glade Shake n' Vac to give my carpets a bit of a sprucing up.
This product is a carpet freshener. It is in the form of a powder and it's purpose is to de-odorise and freshen your carpet. It does not actually clean carpet or remove stains. Glade Shake n' Vac comes in a green plastic cylinder shaped container. The lid has a double flip top - once side allows you to pour the powder out and the other has two smaller holes which allows the powder to be sprinkled out a bit more slowly.
To use this product you simply sprinkle the powder over your carpet, leave it for about 30 minutes and then vacuum it up. The powder itself is quite fine and easily sprinkled over your carpet evenly. When the time comes to vacuum it up, I find that my vacuum easily lifts the powder and leaves no residue, stains or marks on the carpet.
This product is available in a variety of scents including citrus blossom, magnolia and vanilla, and lily of the valley. Out of the scents I have tried, my favourite is the citrus blossom, it has a lovely fresh, lemony scent. During use of this product the smell is lovely and it fills your house. The lovely fragrance lasts for around a day or two, but I do find that even after the scent itself disappears, unpleasant odours e.g. doggy odours are still less noticeable for up to a week after use.
Each tub of Shake n' Vac contains 500g of product. I find that this covers my stairs and upstairs in my house (3 bedrooms and a hall) as well as 2 rugs downstairs, and I still have a small amount left in the tub. This can be bought for around £1.50 in most supermarkets but is usually available at PoundLand for yep, you guessed it, £1. I think this is a bit of a bargain and plan to stock up again next time I am passing.
I can't really fault this product in any way - it is a cheap and effective carpet freshener and for this reason I am giving it 5* along with my recommendation. Thanks for reading/rating and I hope you found this review useful.
