Glade Shake N Vac
Advantages: Smells lovely, great price, freshens the carpets
I remember the adverts for shake and vac from when I was a little girl but had never actually used it, I started working in a care home just over a year ago and they used the product there, feeling it freshened the carpets really well I decided I would give it a go at home.
You can buy the product in hardwear stores, supermarkets and discount stores, I found it in our local poundshop and therefore it cost me £1! The product comes packaged in a green plastic cylindrical tub with a flip top lid to allow you to use the product and a label around the centre half of the tub with the details and usual warnings that come with a cleaning product.
To use the product you simply do what is in the title, flip the lid open and shake the product from side to side over your carpet walking backwards as you do so to give a good overall coverage. It is easy to see where you have sprinkled the powder as it is white in colour unless of course you have a white carpet. I tend to leave the product on the carpet for about 30 minutes of so while as I work my way around the carpets in the house and then using a normal hoover just vac the powder back up again.
The product smells really nice fruity and fresh is how I would describe it, the idea of the product isn't so much to clean your carpets but to simply freshen them up and it does this really well. I tend to only use the product once every couple of weeks when I feel my carpets are flat and lifeless, this does seem to help lift the pile a little and my carpets smell lovely after use.
I don't think you need to use this product in your cleaning routine but I do feel it gives my carpets a bit more life and refreshes then nicely so I do like using it and when you can pick it up for £1 it hardly breaks the bank.
Summary: A lovely scented carpet
