“ Brand: Hannah Montana / Misc House Type: Storage „
My daughter, like many other girls her age (7) is very keen on Hannah Montana at the moment . This has resulted in me spending a fortune on various branded merchandising to keep her happy, all the while with a niggling feeling in the back of my mind that she's going to lose interest soon . Luckily, a lunch bag is both a practical and an indulgent purchase - I indulge her desire for all things Hannah, and I also get a practical bag for her to take her packed lunch to school in. I paid around £10 for this from Toys R Us some time ago, and I remember at the time it was a little pricey for what it was. It does come with a drinks bottle and a small plastic tub too though . The bag itself is well made, and is padded to help keep food cool - always a feature I like to see in a lunch bag. There is some netting along the 'lid' of the bag, which enables you to keep things seperate inside. It seems well stitched and sturdy - and certainly it's still looking as good as new many months on . It's easy to wipe clean both inside and out, and the handles are a nice size for comfortable gripping . The pink drinks bottle is nice enough - although for the price I paid for the set I would have like both that and the small container to also be branded, rather than just plain. I find that the plastic tub is rather small, too small in fact for sandwiches, but a good size for perhaps including a little salad, or for making a jelly in . The size of the bag itself is OK for my daughter, who doesn't have the biggest appetite, although I do tend to have the drink outside the bag as the bottle takes up plenty of room. Inside the bag itself I can easily fit sandwiches, fruit, a small yoghurt, and a packet of crisps or a small salad/snack box . It is rather a pain that to fit all this in the bottle is kept outside the bag though, as it makes it easy for my daughter to forget to take her drink to school. However, this is a problem I have had with all the lunch bags I've used for her, not just this one . Overall, it's a nice enough lunch bag. Pricey for what it is, but I suppose you're paying for the branding . 3 stars .
Since my daughter started nursery, I dread to think how many lunch bags and boxes she has had over the years. Every couple of months there is a new design, with all children's tv shows jumping on the merchandising band wagon. So when I was asked by my daughter if she could have a Hannah montana lunch bag kit, I was less than happy. However like all mothers, I couldn't resist trating my daughter and so this kit was purchased from Toys r us for around £9. The kit comprises of a good size plastic and material luch bag. I must say I was quite impressed on first glance at this bag as it seemed to tick the practicality and cool design boxes. The lunch box itself was nothing special, just a normal plastic lunch box, quite small in size with a plastic lid. The water bottle was also baby pink in colour, but if im honest looked quite cheap. It had a pull up lid so that the user does not have to unscrew the bottle. However we found that this began to look chewed and scruffy after only a few uses. The Hannah Montana lunch bag is very impressive to look at. It is emblazoned with small photos of Hannah. All the photos are different but they each have the theme that she is perfoming on stage. I like the colours of the bag, I think the pink and black work well together in order to create a funky look. The bag has two black fabric handles. Which must be held in the hand as they are too small to fit over the shoulder properly. When preparing my daughters lunch for this bag, I was suprised at how sparse the diameter is at the bottom of the bag. This means that you have to pile things in on top of each other. I found this to be really frustrating as if my daughter wants to eat her rolls first she has to take everything out in order to get to the lunch box container. Also there is no room to fit the drinks bottle in this bag, which to me is quite useless as the whole point in buying the kit was that she could use all three with ease. The bag itself has lasted well. It is silver layered inside which can be wiped easily with a cloth. The silver layer helps to cool the bag down when placed in the fridge, in order to keep food colder and fresher. I did try this once or twice but I was not very impressed with the coolness. Infact I couldn't tell much difference. The drinks bottle did not last two minutes. I was very unimpressed with this item. It began to leak fairly soon after having it. I believe that this is because my daughter was biting on the top to pull the drink open. The top was very difficult to pull open by hand. I also didn't think this was the most hygenic of ideas either.as the plastic top began to get ridges which although cleaned thoroughly were obviously harbouring germs. All in all I was quite unimpressed with this set. The design is great, but I don't think the producers of this item have thought much about practicality. My daughter now has to have her rolls wrapped in foil and placed in this bag. As there just was inadequate room for everything. The colours on the bag have stayed strong and have not faded. It looks really cool. In all fairness, the zip which seals the bag shut is sturdy and of a high quality. But this is all spoilt by the fact that the bag is just not big enough.
My daughter has this particular lunch set as she is a huge Hannah Montana fan. I bought it from toys r us for £9.99 which I think is a very good price for the set as the last set I bought cost me £8 for the bag and then another £4 for the cup. The lunch bag is pink and purple with printed Hannah Montana pictures on both sides. It has a silver cooling material inside, therefore I keep her lunchbox in the fridge when made up at some so that the silver material gets cold and when taken to school, it stays cool for a while keeping the lunch fresh. The lunch bag has a zip on the top, therefore my daughter's lunch seems to be stacked on top of each other, and she has to take the items out and place them on the desk at school. I have found that this is not as good as other lunchboxes she has had in the past where they can be fully opened and eaten out of the actual lunch box. Although the lunch bag is small it can carry all of my daughter's lunch which usually consists of a sandwich, a bag of crisps and the container filled with mixed fruit and yoghurt. I agree with Lyndsayw who has also written a very useful review on this product that it is not big enough to fit the drinks cup inside as well as lunch; however this is not a problem for my daughter as they keep their drinks in the classroom with them on their desk. Although the drinking cup is just a basic pink plastic cup, I find these much better than the more expensive metal ones, which I find seem to leak. My daughter has had no leakage with this drinks cup at all and as with the supplied sandwich container, it is easy to put a name label on or write it on with a permanent pen. It is a good value set, however I would recommend a fully opening lunch box.
As my oldest daughter is Hannah Montana mad at the minute you can guess how much stuff with her name plastered all over it we have so my next review will be a hannah montana lunch bag. I brought Nicole this for her to take her school lunch in. The bag its self is pink and purple with hannah montana written on the top in baby pink with two guitars in between her names then you have six pictures of hannah all looking different and then the back is the same as the front. Inside its silver which has been designed to keep your lunch cool. It has a netting in so you can put your drink to save it from falling all over the place and squashing everything in there. I don't really like this bag as when it comes for me to be doing her lunch you can fit everything in so we have to leave her drink out and let her carry it. The bag is easy to wipe clean and i have even put mine in the washer as when you wipe it you cant get into the seams to get the crumbs that have hidden in there. My daughter would recommend this to any hannah montana fan but as a mum i wouldn't as from what i said its small and pointless. We brought Nicole's from wilkos for £9.99 they also sell it in toys r us at the same price.
