      Try another air freshener instead

The Iba easy pouch is another air freshener I purchased in an attempt to make my living room smell a bit sweeter!

The air freshener comes in a plastic pouch with a leaf design on one side and a label on the other - the label states the company name, scent and the claim that it lasts up to 6 weeks, it's also called an 'odour zapper' and is supposed to help remove unpleasant smells from the air rather than just covering them. You peel the label off to reveal a number of holes in the packaging through which a jelly like product can be seen, this is the air freshener. Peeling off the label does leave some sticky residue so you want the leaf design side to be facing out.

Initially I purchased the 'original' scent as this was all that was available. I can't say that I noticed the smell permeating the room which is what I was expecting, however it's just aswell it didn't as the smell is quite unpleasant when you sniff it up close - the closest I can liken it to is a cross between ainseed and mint, I also didn't notice any reduction in household smells.

I'm not sure why (considering the lack of success with the first one) but I went out and bought another, this time in the summer fruits scent - it was reduced to £1 and I thought maybe another scent would produce better results. Unfortunately the smell (strong and reminiscent of oranges), while much improved upon the original, still doesn't seem to waft around the room with the exception of the first 5 minutes or so after opening.

The pouch is certainly not the most attractive of air fresheners at the best of times, but it doesn't get any better the longer you use it. I had the original for about 3 weeks - the packaging went crusty around the holes and the gel turned solid. In the end I just threw it away as it was looking tatty and not doing the job it was intended for. The summer fruits one fared slightly better, but not much and I definately won't be buying the 'easy pouch' again, even if it is on offer!

Overall I wouldn't recommend this air freshener as the looks don't impress and it's not 'fit for purpose'.
