The best air freshener I have ever found!

My mum had been looking for a decent air freshener for a while for our bathroom and chose this one. Quite often we have found that air fresheners are not very effective in that they don't smell all that nice and the smells they emit don't last very long. However, this air freshener has a lovely berry scent that held consistently strong levels for a number of weeks, yet the scent was not overpowering. One of my friends even commented on how nice the bathroom was smelling. The appearance of the air freshener in my opinion is also very pleasant, as it is a nice pink pyramind shape that fitted in nicely alongside ornaments, and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb! The only bad thing is that ever since my mum purchased this air freshener a while ago, we have been unable to find any other shops that stock it. We have found the citrus scented ones but in my opinion they don't smell anywhere near as nice as this berry one, and it is a shame we are unable to find these anywhere.

A lovely berry smelling air freshener

The Odour Zapper Room Freshener is a liquid air freshener. My air freshener is the Wild Berries one. I bought this a few reasons, firstly I like to have air fresheners in the house because I like my home to smell fresh and clean. We have a dog so I don't like plug in air fresheners in case they settle into his water or squirt into his face if he sniffs them. The other reason I bought this was that my mum had one in her bathroom and it smelt really nice so I thought I would try it for myself. The Odour Zapper costs £2.99 is made by a company called Iba and I bought mine from Tesco but have also seen it on sale in Waitrose too for the same price. There are other colours and fragrances in the range although I have only seen the wild berries and the original on sale. The Odour Zapper works using odour neutralisers and fragrance with natural ingredients. It is designed to last for 45 days although in small writing does say that this depends on use, airflow and temperature of the room. It is ideal for tobacco smells, toilet smells, pet smells, cooking smells and musty or mouldy smells. The air freshener consists of a glass base containing the bright pink liquid air freshener, a wick which absorbs the liquid but which is covered by a pink plastic cone which has vents to allow the air freshener to escape. The air freshener is simple to use. When you first get it you have to snap the plastic cone off the top carefully and then take the bottle cap off. They warn you not to touch the wick with your hands. You then simply push the cone back on and its ready to go. They suggest you place the air freshener somewhere where there is frequent air movement to help waft the scent around. I tried the air freshener in a couple of places. At first I placed it in the hallway of our house and it released a lovely fresh berry smell as you walked through and was really quite pleasant. I then moved the air freshener through to the bathroom and this is where it has been for the last month. I like walking into the bathroom and smelling the lovely berry smell, its nice but not too overpowering. The product states that the scent lasts for 45 days and I would agree with this. My air freshener has been working for 42 days now and there is just a little bit of liquid left. Over the last week I have noticed that the smell has decreased, you can still smell it when you go near it but you don't smell it as soon as you walk in the room. I like this air freshener. It has a lovely natural berry smell unlike many other air fresheners which can smell rather chemically. It lasts longer than many of the cheaper air fresheners that I have tried. It also looks quite nice and although the pink colour doesn't go with the rest of my natural coloured bathroom it does look quite attractive.

        Room freshener that neutralises odours

Looking for something nice and fragrant before Christmas I spotted a very bright modern cone shaped room freshener made by Iba-Bouchard. It was called an Odour zapper (Thought it might keep the bathroom smelling sweeter after eating sprouts!) * What's it like?* **Size - The glass base is round and measures about 8cm in diameter, it is shaped in stages, until it ends in a narrow neck that has a plastic insert and the wick which is 1.5cm wide is fitted into this. With the cone fitted it is about 9.5cm high. **Colour - the conical shaped top is a cerise pink and pearly so although bright is still pretty rather than gaudy. The liquid is a beautiful slightly deeper colour than the top and clear. **Fragrance - my choice of fragrance was Wild Berries. It smells good enough to eat! A lovely fresh, fruity fragrance, reminiscent of summer days and picking lovely fruit. *How is it used?* To use I had to snap off the plastic cone, and twist it anti-clockwise, removing the bottle cap taking care not to touch the wick. Then the cone was replaced. It should be placed in an area with frequent air movement, although mine doesn't get much air all around it, only from the front as it is on a shelf in the bathroom. *What is it designed to do?* It is meant to neutralise many unwanted household odours, replacing them with the fragrance of the liquid, which contains natural extracts. It is meant to leave your home smelling clean and fresh for up to 45 days depending on use, air flow and temperature. It says that it deals with tobacco smells, toilet odours, pet smells, cooking and musty mould smells. *Where is it made and any precautions?* It is made in the EU, and the company is based in Nottingham. Care should be taken that it is kept away from excessive heat and strong sunlight and if spilled should be wiped up with a damp cloth. It should be kept out of reach of children and should it be splashed into eyes rinsed immediately and medical advice obtained. They advise keeping the label and taking it with you. Similar advice that if it is on the skin to rinse well. Direct contact with plastic, painted, polished and varnished surfaces should be avoided. *Cost?* Currently on sale at Tesco at £2.93 but I bought mine cheaper as it was on offer before Christmas. *Results?* I was surprised the first time I went into the bathroom a few hours after opening the odour zapper, it smelt very fruity, but after a few days wasn't quite as strong, but still smelt pleasant. I haven't actually noticed any odours in the bathroom recently, and people have commented how nice it smells, so I think it is doing what it says. It has nearly finished and that is over 50 days, so very good value for money.
