I bought these Ikea Riktig curtain tie backs to hold back the curtains in a few of our rooms. They are really reasonably priced at just £4.99 for a pair, and they are available in three different colours; a silver colour, black and white. I have them in each of the colours in various rooms. These tie backs match a lot of the Ikea curtain poles, and there is also a couple of different styles of Riktig curtain rings designed to match as well. I have paired the silver coloured Riktig tie backs with the silver coloured Vagen curtain pole and they match perfectly. I have paired the black Riktig tie backs with the black Skuggig curtain pole and these match perfectly. And I have paired the white Riktig tie backs with the white Irja curtain pole and again they match perfectly. They are made of a powder coated steel, and they are a very simple sleek curved design. They will match any room and any decor, they are not too fussy and over the top at all. They attach very simply to the wall with two screws, which are not supplied in the packet as they state to use screws and fixings suitable for your particular type of wall. They are quite substantial and deep and so will probably hold most curtains back easily, in one of my rooms they hold back both the curtains and the voile panels easily. They look nice and sleek and simple, they do the job they are supposed to, you can get a choice of colours, not much else to say really other than I do reccomend these.
RIKTIG Tie-backs We were recently re doing second sons bedroom after gutting it when he left for university and whilst we were in IKEA saw these curtain tie backs. They seemed ideal as they are not "girly" and also it means that when he is home he has nothing fiddly to contend with, but needs to simply drape the curtains over the tie backs. The tie backs are available in black, silver and white; we chose the black. They cost £4.99 for 2 so they weren't going to break the bank even if we later decided we wanted to change them. The tie backs are quite sturdy looking but once I take them out of the bag they are thinner feeling and more flimsy than they look. However, this is not a problem and the very slight flexibility might make it easier to just push the curtains over. They are very modern in design, light and quite curvy with a hole in the middle; for deign not for the curtains! The tie backs have to be self assembled and there are no screws or fittings insode the plastic packaging. I think this is so that individuals can select the fittings which are most suitable for their wall and curtain type. Each tie back requires two screws and they are (apparently) very simple to attach to the wall. Simply measure where you want them to go and get the fittings onto the tie backs. To clean the tie backs they should be wiped with a dry cloth. I also clean them with a damp cloth and this seems to work fine. They don't seem to show up many marks and are almost impervious even to lots of finger print marks. VERDICT... We have medium weight cream curtains which look good with the tie backs. They are stylish and practical and because there is quite a gap between the wall and the tie back, the curtains fit through and drape nicely without bunching up. It also does make it easy to get the curtains over the tie backs and even with very little effort they drape nicely. Very reasonably priced, I would recommend these to anyone who wants this type of thing Thanks for reading Daniela xx
