I like to have nice refreshing aroma in the car and must admit, I have been looking for a new car air freshener for a while (I kept forgetting to pick one up) however when I got reminded by my husband that fishing season is about to start soon, I didn't hesitate and literary run to my local Sainsbury's to pick one up as a precaution. My hubby is keen fishermen and takes car on his days out which wouldn't be so bad, but imagine having fish in the car boot, not talking about his fishing kit which leaves behind rather disgusting smell. I was very pleased to find selection of Jelly Belly car air fresheners and didn't hesitate to pick one. There were few different "flavours" to choose from I was torn between blueberry and tangerine, at the end I decided to try tangerine which is bright orange in colour. ***What is it? *** As name suggests, it's a car air freshener which comes in a shape of oversized 3D jelly bean. They are made by Jelly Belly Company which is very famous for their lovely tasty jelly beans and other snacks. They are made in many different "flavours" most of them being fruity and are about 10cm long. ***Packaging*** Jelly Belly air freshener is packaged in cardboard/plastic packaging. Cardboard is white in colour with multi-coloured jelly beans printed all over. You are able to size the colour of the air freshener which is packaged in a transparent plastic. Packaging is quite attractive and certainly stands out in the aisle from all the rest of car accessories. Air freshener has plastic hook attached to it should you want to hand it somewhere in the car, I hand it down from my review mirror. ***My thoughts*** I have chosen tangerine "flavour" as I love refreshing citrusy smell and couldn't wait to unwrap it. I didn't hesitate and opened it up whilst still in the shop car park. Product is really pleasing to look at, very simple in shape of giant jelly bean with Jelly Belly written in the middle of it with white writing. Lovely citrusy smell hit me and I was really pleased with it at the time. I love the fact that it wasn't too overpowering and headachy smell, just nice and refreshing. I had this air freshener for about 3-4 weeks now and I must say though, I am disappointed with its performance. Other than on first couple of days, this air freshener simply fails to refresh inside of my car. I would expect my car to be filled with the sweet tangerine smell the morning when I first get into the car or at the end of the day when I finish work, but really haven't been able to detect that lovely tangerine smell I was so happy with on the day of purchase. ***Price, availability, varieties*** I brought mine from Sainsbury's supermarket for around £3 mark. Widely available in other supermarkets or online roughly at around the same price. Even though tangerine "flavour" failed to meet my expectations, I will purchase it again, I have read some positive reviews about blueberry one so this will be my next purchase I think. I would be quite intrigued to try pear, lemon or cherry flavours too. I will see how my next purchase goes, hope it performs better than tangerine. *** Additional Info you might want to know*** Jelly Belly car air freshener has following safety warnings: Flammable Toxic to aquatic organisms Harmful in contact with skin Harmful if swallowed I will give this product I am only giving 2/5 stars. Thank you for reading :)
I began my love affair with these Jelly Belly air fresheners over a year ago after my daughter introduced me to them. Knowing how much I love fruity scents she mentioned them to me and then I went in her car where she had one hanging and that was it. I had to have one! I have used a variety of air fresheners not just in my home, but also in my car over the years and have found that most of them for cars in particular, have been pine fragrances, which is something that has often puzzled me as I don't know why your car has to smell of pine or toilet cleaner, as some of the air fresheners have often reminded me of! The best in-car air fresheners I have personally found have been the plug-in types, but even those I have found do not last very long and can often be quite expensive. My daughter was very impressed by the longevity of these Jelly Belly air fresheners and with that information and the lovely fruity fragrance, I bought one and have been buying them ever since. I tried the Bubble Gum, Tutti Frutti and Cherry Jelly Belly air fresheners from this range first and suitably impressed with all three I decided my next purchase was to be Tangerine. I usually purchase mine from Asda where they are priced usually at £3, but they can often be on offer for £2, so I tend to wait until they are the cheaper price and then buy a couple. These Jelly Bean shaped air fresheners are quite quirky to look at with their unique jelly bean shape and also they smell a lot better than those cheap toilet-cleaner smelling cardboard trees too in my opinion. Of course you may expect quality from this brand, as Jelly Belly have grew over the last 50 years to become a recognised snack all over the world and also the number one jelly bean. Taking the ingredients used in their jelly beans, they have sought to transfer the intensity of the taste into scents for their air fresheners and candles. As soon as I hung my Tangerine jelly bean air freshener in my car, it filled it with its fruity scent but it isn't overpowering. Indeed I am aware of the subtle fragrance all the time whilst in the car, but what I like most is getting into my car and smelling the sharp fruity fragrance which greets me as I open the door. I have given lifts to family and friends and many have commented on how lovely the fragrance is when they get into my car. Like my daughter, I have also been very impressed by the longevity of these car air fresheners and these last for a number of weeks I have found. My Tangerine scented Jelly Belly air freshener has a lovely tangy orange fragrance which has lasted over 5 weeks now and counting. The longevity of this one is just as good as the others I have tried in this range and as yet I haven't found anything else on the market which comes close to matching these, so they are good value for money in my opinion. You can also get an idea of the scent of these car air fresheners before buying one, as they have a 'scratch & sniff' sticker on the packaging. There is only one from this range which I don't think I will purchase and that is the Blueberry Jelly Belly, as I thought it a little sickly smelling when I was 'scratching and sniffing' them in Asda, but I love all the others and these are definitely the best air fresheners I have ever used in my car. Using these has prompted me to look for the other air fresheners and candles for the home that Jelly Belly also produce. I make my Jelly Belly air freshener purchases from Asda, but they are widely available at most supermarkets and garage forecourt shops, but they are also available from Amazon online at varying prices.
I first came across these Jelly Belly air fresheners for the car about 3 years ago now. They come in a variety of colours and scents including Bubblegum, Tutti Fruiti, Tangerine, Blueberry and Cherry. They also come in two different shapes - you can either get the soft plastic 3D ones as shown above or you can get 2D card ones. I always go for the 3D ones because they have a much stronger scent. This fragrance was the first fragrance I tried from the range and it remains a favourite of mine so I would definitely say that this one is my most regular purchase. Prices for these vary but they can usually be found at about the £2.50 - £3.00 mark. I usually buy mine in Tesco or on ebay but the last one I got from a local independent car shop. The air freshener looks exactly the same as shown above. It is housed in some cardboard and I like the design. The air freshener itself is encased in some thin clear plastic and you are given a small clear plastic hook to help you to hang your freshener. Of course, although these are designed for use in the car you dont necessarily have to use them in the car. However, I always do and I usually use the hook to hang the air freshener from somewhere in my car - maybe the mirror or on of the handles above the doors. There is no way to sort of ease the scent into your car like you do with the Magic Tree fresheners and instead you take this straight out of the packet and use it straight away. The air freshener looks like a jelly bean. It does have the distinctive shape of the Jelly Belly beans and it is brightly coloured. The air freshener is around 8cm tall at its tallest point and around 4 or 5cm wide. It has a maximum depth of around 1cm so it is quite 3D. It has Jelly Belly branding on the front in white which looks good. As soon as you get this out of the packet you are hit with a very strong scent. Of course, this is the tangerine version so you get a beautiful fruity and fresh fragrance that has a strong citrus feel to it and it is very appealing. It is a strong scent but not at all overbearing and instead I find myself really enjoying the scent. The scent is lovely and it does provide a lovely fragrance in your car. I have used these to get rid of smells in the past such as fast food and this is really effective to get rid of the nasty odours but I do also buy these just to freshen the air up. The scent remains strong for a couple of weeks and it can still be detected around a month later but it has dulled down by then. To keep the scent strong and to keep your car smelling super fresh I would say you need a new one of these every month or so. I have tried others from the range and most recently a friend bought me the Tutti Fruiti version which is a nice scent and I do really like it but I think that this tangerine scent is going to remain as my favourite because I love the strong citrus smell and I feel that it lasts for a good amount of time and looks good too. I have tried numerous different brands before but I always return to Jelly Belly.
WHAT IS IT? A plastic jelly bean shaped air freshener for the car or home. This one is a tangerine fragrance but Jelly Belly make a few different ones to match with the flavours of jelly beans they sell. THE DESIGN The air freshener is made of soft plastic with a gel inside that makes the fragrance. There is a plastic hook to hang the air freshener up around your rearview mirror or around a drawer handle if you are using it in the home. THE FRAGRANCE The tangerine smell is strong when you first open the air freshener and it does not fade very much until it has worn out. It is a sweet orange smell that is quite natural but also smells sugary, it smells how a tangerine Jelly Belly jelly bean tastes. In my car I can always smell it and when I have had passengers in my car they have noticed the orange smell before they see the air freshener. The tangerine smell is very good to keep in my shoe cupboard because it smells nice and also it neutralises and bad smells from my husband's shoes. WHAT I THINK I like this air freshener very much and the only thing wrong with it is that it doesn't last for very long compared to other car air fresheners like Magic Tree. I replace mine about every 3 weeks and sometimes more often than that. I like the smell because it is strong but very citrus smelling and that makes my car smell fresh and clean even if it is not very clean inside! There is no warning when the smell is going to wear out because it doesn't fade or anything just cuts out one day and you realise you cannot smell it at all. I think the air freshener looks very good as well because it is a modern design and the 3D jelly bean looks very good in my car. It says Jelly Belly on the front of the air freshener but that doesn't matter to me because I am not brand loyal to things like this and anyway the logo rubs off very easily in warm weather so it might not say Jelly Belly for long. My daughter says the smell of the inside of my car makes her want sweets and I have researched the power of aroma before and she might be right. The smell is more like sweets than fresh fruit so it might not be very good for people who are on diets because it might make you want sweets while you are driving. ANYTHING ELSE This Jelly Belly air freshener costs between £1.99 and £2.99 and it is quite often on promotional price in the main supermarkets. 4 Dooyoo Stars.
I love Jelly Belly sweets and think they are delicious. I especially like the fact that the sweets come in some really strong and usual flavours. I bought this air freshener for my car after seeing it in B&M bargains where it was only £1.50. As I was a fan of the sweets I was curious to see how this would smell. Citrus smells are one of my favourite kind of smells so although there were a couple of different air fresheners on sale I went for the tangerine one. The tangerine Jelly Belly sweet is really strong and fruity smelling so I was hoping that the air freshener since it was from the same company would smell as strong and be as a high quality. The freshener is shaped like a large jelly belly and is a bright orange in colour. I'm not sure what it is made of by it is sort of like a flexible plastic. It's a bit strange actually I was expecting it to have a soft gel filling but it works so that's all that matters. It looks really good though and is something a little bit more quirky and for my car mirror than the other fresheners available. This smells so good. I was a bit dubious thinking it would smell to much like a sweet but although it actually does smell like a sweet it doesn't smell sickly and cloying at all. It is really fresh actually and also is really strong smelling. The orange is the most dominant smell to it but it does have other fruity aromas to it. I really like the smell of it and think that although it is sweet it isn't too much and would suit a lot of peoples taste as it isn't too overpowering. Passengers that I have had in the car have remarked about the nice smell and asked me what air freshener that I was using. I also smoke in my car (I know it's a filthy habit) and this does a really good job of stopping my car from absolutely stinking of cigarette smoke. It doesn't completely get rid of it but it does mask it really well. I have tried a few of the Jelly Belly fresheners and this is definitely my favourite one as the smell is the least sickly sweet. It is just a really nice orange smelling freshener that fragrances the whole car and stops it smelling bad.
I love opening the car doors and smelling a nice scent, there's nothing worse than a smelly car on a long journey. I always have air fresheners hanging from either the rear view mirror or one of the ceiling handles in the back of the car. One air freshener I've used recently is this Jelly Belly tangerine one. I purchased my Jelly Belly air freshener from my local Asda, it's available to buy in store or online, they are also available to purchase from Halfords. The Jelly Belly tangerine air freshener usually costs around the £2 mark. The air freshener is packaged in a transparent plastic bag which is attached to a strip of cardboard with the Jelly Belly branding on it. When opening the plastic bag I have to use scissors but have to be very careful not to cut into the air freshener itself. The air freshener is in the shape of a jelly bean just like the other scents in this range too. The freshener is made from a weird material, it has the same feeling to those eye masks that you put in the fridge! It's flexible when you try and move it, it's really quite weird. It is bright orange in colour matching the tangerine scent. The scent of the air freshener is very vibrant and fruity, it does have an orange smell to it. I put this air freshener on my interior rear view mirror and it fills the whole car with this fruity aroma really well. The scent is as strong as it was when first placed in the car for around three weeks, it then lasts another good three weeks with a less intense scent but the aroma is still there. I love the strong fruity smell when opening the car doors. Although this Jelly Belly air freshener is a lot more expensive than other brands such as Magic Tree, the quality of these definitely make them worth the extra money. The scent is orange and fruity and will make your car smell nice for around six weeks in total. I personally think these are more pleasing on the eye than the tree air fresheners too.
These Jelly Belly air fresheners are sooooo nice. I currently have one in my car and I just want to sit in it all the time so that I can permanently smell it. I recently bought 2 of them from Asda at £2 each but you can buy them from petrol stations and other supermarkets. The ones I bought were this version which is tangerine and also the pear version, both as gorgeous smelling as the other. The air freshener comes on a cardboard sheet encased in a plastic cover. You need scissors to cut open the cardboard but you can open the plastic case bit yourself via a small opening on the side. As soon as you open this you can immediately smell the fruity scent of the freshener coming through. The product is in the shape of a jelly bean and is a flat bean shape with a squidgy centre. The colours are extremely vibrant and match the colour of the fruit for the freshener that you have picked. They look far more exciting than other air fresheners and appeal to both children and adults. The smells are very strong and fruity and extremely sweet and they make you want to eat the fruit in question. In fact I bought some pears today for the first time in a long time, so maybe that was prompted by me smelling the other air freshener! They recommend on the back of the product that you can put them in your car, office or anywhere else you want smelling nice. My car smells amazing at the moment as we put the tangerine one in the car. However, we put the pear one in a small bedroom upstairs which is used as a sort of office room and I can't smell the air freshener to the same degree in there. We do have the door open to the rest of the house most of the time so maybe this is why. I have therefore come to the conclusion that they work better in confined spaces but I guess this would be the same for any air freshener. As I have only recently purchased these I'm unfortunately not able to comment on the lasting effect of these from personal experience. However, my friend who uses them regularly and who I copied the idea from says they last a lot longer than normal air fresheners do. I smelt one in her car the other day which had apparently been there for about 10 weeks and it still smelt strong which is unusual for car air fresheners. I have high hopes for mine to last a long time too! If you like strong fruity smells you'll love these.
The tangerine Jelly Belly in-car air freshener was, in fact, the second in the range which I decided to buy. After a pretty good experience with the Cherry version, I chose to broaden-out and venture into their other varieties. After sniffing my way through the whole section in Halfords, I settled on the tangerine version. From there, you know how it went. I put it straight in the car, and I'd experience at least twice per day, but after being overpowered by the first time I walked into the car - and not consciously anticipating the aroma - every other time I was completely oblivious to its smell. I literally didn't notice it was there after a day. The first time it was unmissable, but thereafter you'd have to basically put your nose to the thing to even tell that it had a distinct scent to it. Needless to say, it threw it away within the week. Judging by how effective the Cherry version was, I'd assume that I'd become immune to the smell, as other people who came in the car did comment on the aroma it gave off. However, it seems as though you'd be better used to trying out different ranges than to explore the entire Jelly Belly air freshener collection. It's got a funny little shape and stands out, but just doesn't do the job it's meant to. You can pick them up for something in the region of £2.40, so if you fancy a change then go for it, but if you've done the Jelly Belly thing in the past, forget it.
I have just recently tried this Car Air Freshener. I have been wanting to try it for a while now and although I seem to be quite loyal to my Yankee Candle Air Fresheners I just liked the idea of the scents from this range. Unfortunately these ones are only in 4 scents and all fruity ones. This isn't that big a problem, but I think perhaps Buttered Popcorn which is 1 of my favourite Jelly Belly flavours would have been a nice scent. I had seen this range online and it is sold in Asda as well. They seem quite pricey and I think the right price of 1 of these in my local Asda is £3, but they are currently on Rollback for £2 each. Still seems expensive in a way since I can get 3 Yankee Candle ones for £4 online. I thought if I was going to try it then may as well buy when it was that bit cheaper. This looks like the Dooyoo picture. You can see the Jelly Bean shaped bit through a plastic bit with a cardboard surround. To get into this is a little bit harder than other ones. You pull off all the Cardboard and then you are left with the plastic shell bit. This is sealed so you have to cut this and get the Bean out. There isn't much space to cut, so watch you don't cut the actual product. So the Bean is now out and you hang this from your Interior mirror. This doesn't have a bit string attatched to it and instead is a plastic bit which clips over the mirror. This is a bit annoying as since the Bean sways back and forward I sometimes heard a little scratch from the plastic of this rubbing against the plastic of the Mirror. The Bean feels a bit waxy but not exactly like a candle. It's an odd feeling thing and I was expecting this to feel Jelly Like. The scent of this is lovely. It is a tangy sweet scent. It isn't too strong but just a nice strenght and the scent of this seems to last a good lenght of time. I tend to change my air freshener every month and have been using this one only for 2 weeks. I would buy this again and probably try the others in the range, just wished they were a tiny bit cheaper.
After my daughter discovered the "jelly belly" range of toiletries and other scented products, she has been literally badgering me to buy some other products for myself. After talking her out of spending the very last few pounds of her Christmas money on scented candles for me (bless her), we went to do our weekly shop at Asda, and were pleased to find a stand in the entrance holding various different scented "jelly belly" air fresheners, at a knock down price, so of course I was finally talked around! There were a couple of different scents available, with us having to toss a coin between the two finalists (she was buying it, so couldn't afford both!), and decided upon the tangerine scented one. The freshener itself is in the shape of a jelly bean, which of course is what this brand is famous for, being the makers of the "gourmet jelly bean", but obviously much larger, around 3 ½" long. The bean shape is almost flat and made of a strange almost flexible plastic/rubber material. At first I thought it was liquid filled, but after closer examination soon saw it was a trick of the light. There is a single plastic hook attached to the bean itself so that this can be hung up if required, but if not placed where we have, I think this would be the ideal wardrobe freshener, instead of the scented draw liners my Nan buys me every Christmas! The scent of this is divine, with it being actually quite strong, a really citrusy scent but a much more orange sweet scent (think starbursts) than an actual fresh orange scent, so this is incredibly sweet smelling. It doesn't actually state on the freshener packaging were this would be ideally placed, but found it was perfect for my car, hanging it at the back of my interior mirror, with it being large enough to see and still smell it, but didn't obscure my field of vision whilst driving, this is still strong enough to smell in the car (especially after the car has been shut up all night!) but is intensely strong when the heaters are on. Price wise we purchased this from asda for £2.00, but on the website www.jellybelly.com these can be purchased for a slightly higher price of £2.99, though still worth at! Longevity wise this has been hanging for nearly two weeks in my car and has yet to show any signs of the scent fading away, still strong scented and filing my car with this delicious sent I truly regret not buying the others in the range at the same time, not only this it is brightly coloured and funky looking, this is a really superb freshener that I will gladly buy again, recommended! Thanks for reading x
