Advantages: Toasty and warm - great for winter
Disadvantages: Hard to walk in
Anyone that knows me knows that I am notorious for being cold, so when my nan gave me a snuggie as a present she knew she was on to a winner. Not only does it successfully keep me warm, it is also PINK! Brilliant!
~So what is the Snuggie?~
Snuggies have become well known over the past couple of years or so. Basically, it is a fleece blanket with arms. This is a genius idea. Now if I want to curl up on the sofa with a good book, want to change the channel on the tv or surf the net on my laptop I don't need to fight the blanket that I will have wrapped around me in the winter months. I simply slip my arms into the blankets sleeves and get myself comfy, leaving my hands free. This means that my arms can stay nice and toasty under the blanket, and I can do other things at the same time. Winner all round. :-D
the Snuggie is a JML product. JML are a pretty well known company, and do a lot of mail order stuff through their t.v. channel and t.v. advertising. They also sell their products in a number of shops such as Wilkinsons, Tesco and Asda and have their website. I've seen the snuggie on sale for around £14.99 in the shops, but seeing as mine was a gift, I am not sure on what mine actually cost. On the JML website at the moment it is possible to buy a pack of 2 snuggies for £24.99, (I can't find them individually on the site at the moment). There are a variety of colours available. As mentioned at the beginning, mine is pink, but other colours available include red, navy, leopard and zebra. They do come in 'one size fits all' - this could be seen to be an advantage or a disadvantage. They are big enough to pretty much fit anyone. Seeing as I'm quite small mine drowns me. But I love that. Means I can properly snuggle up in it and have loads of blanket to spare, which is great for me as I tend to fidget quite a lot. With this I can fidget and still stay completely covered and warm. On the JML website there is a 'kids' size which is available in Khaki army style or in a princess style. I don't think I've seen these in the shops, but I might be wrong.
the Snuggie comes boxed, which helps make it a good gift - easy to wrap. :-D I couldn't guess what it was before I opened it. The range of colours makes it suitable for either sex. Once I opened the box to use the Snuggie to use it for the first time I was originally a little disappointed. It is quite a thin fleece material. I thought it would have been thicker. Once I actually was wrapped up in it though I was pleasantly surprised. It really is toasty and snuggly warm! The only thing I would really put it down for was for the first couple of washes I kept getting small amounts of pink fluff over whatever it was that I was wearing... Not really an issue as I mostly use it in the evenings once I am settled down and not going out again that day, but still a little annoying -
The Snuggie is made out of 100% polyester, and is easily washable. Once washed it dries pretty quickly, added bonus as I currently don't have a tumble drier.
There are other 'Snuggies' out there that I think are cheaper than the JML version. The JML Snuggies have a little snuggie label on one of the sleeves. I don't really know what the differences would be between the JML snuggie and any other brand.
Overall I love my snuggie, and would recommend the product. I use mine almost daily (eveningly?) at the moment whilst the weather is still pretty chilly. During the day it does tend to just get chucked on the sofa, which is kind of messy, but I don't really know where else to put it at the moment seeing as I'm using it every evening. It is difficult to walk in, especially as I'm so short. This is ok, but means I have to temporarily get cold in order to do things like make a cup of tea. Lol. I've definitely got some good use out of it so far though, and I imagine I will continue to do so. Definitely a product I am glad to own and recommend. :-D
4/5 from me.
Summary: Cosy and snug. Brilliant.
