When you have several cats like we do, the house is in constant need of de-furring. Everywhere I look, there a pussycat skulking around somewhere, wiping its nether regions over linen and climbing into beds and onto sofas. On top of this, we have people dropping dirt, food remains, scratching off bits of dead skin and stuff. Yes, the house is a joy to live in! You can buy those throw away lint rollers, which are alright, though you have to mess about scraping off layers of paper everytime you use a layer, which gets tedious. There exists a better solution in the form of this Wizard Pro. With a felt-like material surface, you simply choose your surface and brush gently using the comfortable handle to aid the process. The tool is sleek and rather sexy looking, like a hairbrush. The colour scheme is modern, so it wouldn't look out of place on a dresser either. Measuring about the length of a big pencil, you can take it abroad with you or keep in in a desk drawer without any hassle. The tool works well on sofas, beds and carpets and is especially good at tackling those stubborn pet hairs which seem to get embedded deep down into carpets. As you move the roller back and forth it collects the dirt and hairs. You then do a little twisting and the collected grime is moved into a container which stores the furry bits. When you are ready, you can open this section and empty it, thus allowing a new cleaning cycle to commence! This procedure is all swift and pain free and beats the hassle of tearing off strips of lint every two minutes. A sturdy, useful and cheap tool at about five pounds and worth having if you have pets.
I have 2 cats that both produce a lot of fur so as well as already owning an Dyson Animal Vacuum which I couldn't live without I also having to remover fur from my clothes, bed and sofa on a regular basis. I first spotted the Lint Wizard Pro in Woolworths last year and kept meaning to buy one but then they all closed down so I decided to have a look on the internet and found one on eBay for £4.99 plus P&P, the lady was selling a lot so I wondered if she had raided Woolies before it shut down for them! When I purchased the item I was very pleased because as well as getting the main tool you also get a mini travel tool which is great for taking away on holidays. I was very excited to get it out of the packaging and try it out, the promotional video Woolworths used to show had really impressed me and I wanted to see if the tool was as good as it looked. And well yes it is! I first tested it out on my sofa on my Black and White cats favourite seat, he malts the most, so much so I wonder how he doesn't go bald when I brush him and the results I got were fantastic, it picked up all his fur plus other bits of dust, tobacco and crumbs that were hidden on the fabric and within ten minutes I had my sofa looking pretty much like I didn't have a furry monster in my home! To use the wizard you push it in the direction of the lever that you use to clean the brush, once you have enough dust/dirt on the fabric you just move the lever to the other side and it cleans all the dirt into the built in dust bin, you will need to push the lever back and forth a few times to get it really clean. Once the bin is full you just push a button and shake all the dirt into a normal waste bin and carry on. If you want to see a demo video go to http://www.lintwizardpro.com/Default.asp?bhcp=1. I use the main wizard on my furniture/curtains and keep the travel one for my clothes as it does keep little bits of dust in the material and I did notice that it put some on my clothes after using it heavily. Its so much easier to use than those sticky fur collectors and much more cost effective too. I am looking at buying another couple for when I eventually wear my first one out as I just don't want to be without one ever again (until something more amazing comes along anyway!) the only problem is I can only find them in the UK on eBay.
Lint Wizard Pro - Self Cleaning Lint brushes **PRODUCT** This is a brush which will pick up lint, pet hair, dandruff and dust. It is reusable as it will clean itself when you move the lever across. So you will not have to buy refills instead you just remove the contents from the container once it is full. You can reuse it over and over again. The brush has a lint removal surface which can be moved, so you can change to another surface once one is dirty. The surface is red and feels like felt to me. There is a dirt bin on the back of the brush which can be opened and closed. It is tinted blue so you can see if it is full. Once it is full you can empty the contents. In the package I bought I got two brushes for £7.99. One was a large brush and the other was very small, which would fit into your purse, fit in you car or would be ideal for travelling. The brush can clean clothes, carpets, couches, upholstery, car seats and whatever else you can think of. Personally I bought this to clean my black wool coat. You can use it on wool, velvet, cotton and furniture upholstery. **HOW TO USE** I find this brush very easy to use and easy to clean the dirt out of it. Each brush has two built in reusable lint removal surfaces. You need to make sure the cleaning lever is completely to one side to ensure the lint removal surface is fully exposed, if it is not there will be a ridge which will stop you from lifting all the dirt. Then all you have to do is sweep firmly over the mess making sure you go in one direction only. Move in the direction of the arrow (which is on the cleaning level) or all the dirt from the brush will end up on your clothes or items you are cleaning. Sometimes you will have to repeat this more than once. Hopefully the dirt will be trapped on the lint removal surface. All you have to do now is slide the cleaning lever backwards and forwards a few times to get rid of the dirt so it is in the dirt bin window. Once you have cleaned your item or the dirt bin is full you will need to empty it out. All you have to do is open the clip and empty it out and close the window for use again. **MY EXPERIENCE** I use this brush on a daily basis to clean a black wool coat I wear to work. I find that it is good to get the fluff and hairs off my coat. In fact it nearly makes my coat look like it's new. Unfortunately the coat gathers fluff during the day so the brush needs to be used regularly. I find that it is effective and easy to use with little mess. The only drawback I can think of is with a lot of use over a period of time it will not work just as well as the fluff doesn't stick to the lint surface as well, however this is with a lot of use. It is handy to have the travel size brush to use, as it doesn't have a handle and can fit into your handbag so its easy to travel with and use for emergencies. **OVERALL** Even though I feel that this brush is rather expensive at £7.99 I do feel that I have got my money's worth out if it as it is reusable. Eventually after a long period of use you will have to replace it. For this price you do get two brushes. The only thing I would say is that the first brush I bought had to be returned and changed for a new one as the lint removal surface was peeling off and therefore I could not use it. In Homebase (where I purchased it) they changed it for me no problems and the new one is alright. Maybe it would be worth while to check tat it is not peeling off before purchasing. I find that it does work effectively removing all fluff from my wool coat, the lint removal surface seems like a magnet and most times you only need to brush over the surface once to remove anything which is handy and convenient. If you have coats that attract fluff very easily I would recommend you give this product a go and you won't regret it as I didn't.
