Advantages: None.

Disadvantages: A poorly made airing horse that broke with just a gentle touch.

As we are living together now it's fair to say that we have needed the vast majority of things that you may use on an almost daily basis in your horse. One of the items that we have now had to purchase again is an airing horse, this is due to being given this Minky Trio clothes airer. The brand is a good brand and you would think that you would be getting good quality with this three tier airing horse costing around £20.00 from various stockists including Amazon & Homebase.

This airing horse comes wrapped in plastic with a piece of paper within that has some very basic product information and the barcode on it. This is all very straight forward and minimal packaging is used. I felt that there was just enough packaging to avoid getting scratches and blemishes on the product before getting it home any extra packaging would just have been too much!

This horse is very easy to fold out; you simple lift up the horse and then there is a level that folds down and locks the airing horse in to place. The horse stands neat, straight and quite sturdy and we were able to use this for quite a few months with one or two machine loads of washing on it, however, as we have gone through a few airers in the past it's fair to say that we don't overload one of these, preferring just to hang lightweight tops, shirts and work trousers on it and we will hang up vast quantities of underwear in our bathroom and dry jumpers and heavy items either over doors or on radiators to ensure there is only a minimal amount of weight on the airer.

We had this airing horse for around 5 months before it was badly damaged and could not be fixed. This airing horse was lent on by a guest in our house, very lightly, when they were trying to reach our kitten and within just a few seconds the airing horse was seen to visibly dip down low. The safety lock did work in the respect that it stopped the airer folding up with either our relatives hand inside or our kitten's tail, however, as soon as the mechanism was lifted in order to fold the airing horse down this was the moment when one side of the airer decided to completely snap. The airer was then folded down almost completely, turned on it's side and when the other side was touched in order to try and work out how the broken side should look this just broke as well meaning the airer was unusable and could not be fixed.

The metal of the airing horse had actually broken in two places on both sides and at the point of looking at the second side there was no weight being applied on the airer at all as all the washing had been removed and it was laid down on it's side to try and prevent any further damage.

We were quite annoyed that we have had to go out and purchase another airing horse and it's quite disappointing that a relative of my partners went out and spent this money in good faith and the airing horse was poor quality. This airer was definitely not overloaded and when it was lent on it was not with full body weight and probably no worse than putting a large towel or a jumper on the airer. We were very disappointed with the poor quality and it's fair to say that after spending another £20 on a different airing horse that we won't be returning to the Minky brand in the future and would not recommend it to friends or family at all.

Summary: Poor airing horse that just broke before our eyes.
