“ Brand: Oust / Product Type: Air Freshener „
Whilst I prefer to open windows and my door to let fresh air in to freshen my home, this isn't always possible and so turn to alternative methods of either burning wax tarts and scented candles (my preference) or for a quick fix I reach for a can of air freshener. I only use air fresheners occasionally, so often only have one can at a time in my home with the one I am currently using being Oust Odour Eliminator in 'Garden Fresh' fragrance. Having recently finished using the contents of this can up entirely, my review will now focus on my thoughts on using the product. Oust tends to retail at around the £1 mark, making it quite a reasonable price to pay for something that eliminates odours and doesn't just cover them up. I purchased my can from my local Poundstretcher store where they had two fragrances to choose from - Cotton and Garden Fresh - the latter being the one I chose, having previously tried different fragrances I wanted to try a different variety. This was priced at £1.09, though has since had a reduction in price to a round £1. Oust is available in a 300ml sized tin and can be found on the cleaning aisle of most large supermarkets and discount stores. Packaging wise it's pretty standard fare really; being in a cylindrically shaped can that is slimline enough to grip with ease for spraying, and though predominantly white each fragrance features a different coloured lid and matching themed background with Garden Fresh featuring a bright pink lid and images of pink florals in a field. It's attractive enough but not different enough to stand out amongst its competitors really, so unless you were actively seeking it out then it wouldn't immediately grab your attention. My thoughts on using Oust Garden Fresh? I have previously bought Oust in the past though for some reason have never tried this Garden Fresh fragrance before, having tried all of the other varieties this seems to have eluded me until know. I'm not one for using air fresheners on a regular basis as mentioned I prefer to open my windows or failing that burn scented wax tarts but now and again an air freshener spray is far more convenient, and because this eradicates and doesn't mask smells it is one of my top choices along with Febreze (which I only buy when on offer as it's not always purse friendly cost wise). Oust is simple to use - simply aim upwards towards the ceiling and spray. There is a small nozzle directly attached to the lid where the spray emits from in a fast and furious fashion. Once pressed it releases a fine mist which although looks white at first is actually clear. The scent is quite strong and my first thoughts on spritzing this around my home was that it was a little bit too overpowering. There is no denying that there is a summery fresh fragrance to this but the overall thought I was left with on the first occasion of using it was it gave off a slightly artificial aroma, whereas some of the other Oust fragrances seem a bit closer to nature. Garden Fresh is quite strong florally which is nothing surprising, but it seems *too* intense and literally took my breath away at first. Having spritzed this in each of my rooms (I live in a small cottage on one floor) I found the scent started to fade by the time I'd gone back to the first room I'd sprayed this in and by this time it was a more subtle, acceptable level of aroma. I've since used the entire contents of Garden Fresh up so would I recommend it? I wasn't overly impressed at first on the fragrance having much preferred the others in the Oust family but nevertheless carried on using this as I'm not a wasteful person. I mainly stuck to just freshening up my bathroom and kitchen to help dispel any nasty odours that come with the territory of those rooms and found it did work. The Garden Fresh scent is pretty enough once its settled in the air but doesn't last too long - maybe 20 minutes or so at the most, but for money its acceptable though I do prefer Febreze over Oust at the end of the day. It did eradicate nasty aromas and didn't just cover them up by masking them, so for that I think 4/5 is a reasonable amount to award though I don't think I'll buy this particular fragrance again out of personal choice but as a product it did its job perfectly well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Giving Oust a try ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have no brand loyalty whatsoever when it comes to buying air fresheners - I just tend to pick out whatever's on offer or costs the least! I have never bought an Oust freshener before, but it was just £1 on a recent trip to my local supermarket so I decided to give it a go. Oust promises to do more than just freshen your rooms - it promises to eliminate odours by neutralising "bad odour molecules". ~~~~~~~~~~ Give it a spray ~~~~~~~~~~ In terms of appearance, this is a bog standard air freshener really - it comes in an aerosol can with a bright pink lid, which is quite eye-catching, and the word Oust written across it in blue lettering. Ir takes a small amount of effort to press the button at the to - my four year old recently gave this a go and struggled with it - which can only be a good thing as otherwise our whole house would get sprayed from top to bottom with it! Luckily I can manage it no problem, and it emits a fine mist of spray. Straight away you can smell the sweet, floral smell of the air freshener. It's a nice smell I think - quite fresh and feminine. However I do wonder if it would be to everyone's taste as it is quite sweet and flowery. I was pretty cynical about the claims that this would do more than mask odours but I have to say I have been quite impressed - I do think this definitely does help to get rid of smells altogether. I cooked salmon last night, and noticed a slightly unpleasant smell lingering in the kitchen this morning. But a good spray of this and the smell was gone, and hasn't returned. But I did notice that the smell itself doesn't linger for very long - in fact within minutes it's hard to detect much of the scent of this air freshener in the air. ~~~~~~~~ In summary ~~~~~~~~ Overall I am pleased with this air freshener as it does definitely help to get rid of odours for good, as irt promises. However I would like the scent to linger ofr a little longer, so I will give it four stars.
We have a small kitten at home and one medium sized dog. The kitten has his own litter tray and as such, I'm always conscious of any 'smells' which might not be evident to me, but may be to anyone who visits my home. Our dog is also getting on a bit in years and he's not always as fragrant as he should be, which is another reason I like to use odour neutralisers and room fresheners. I've used Oust products for years, for as long as they've been available really and I think I must have tried just about every one of their fragrances in the range. The Garden Fresh oust is the one I'm currently using and the only reason I bought this particular fragrance was because I'd received a 50p off coupon through the post. I wouldn't normally use anything with a name like 'Garden Fresh' as it reminds me of floral-type sweet sickly smells, but in actual fact, this one really isn't like that at all. The smell is gorgeous. It's fresh and natural and doesn't smell man-made or chemical-based, so I was pleasantly surprised the first time I sprayed it. I bought my can from Tescos' and with the 50p off coupon, this brought the price sown to just under £1. I've now used around about half of the can. It's an aerosol spray which I shake well before I use, just to ensure all the contents are nicely dispersed. I spray it into the centre of the room, concentrating on those rooms were the animals have been and then I close the door for a little while. I never spray it and close the door with either the cat or the dog inside the room, of course. The aerosol delivers a nice fine mist which smells beautiful. I love these Oust Aerosols, but this one in particular just has the loveliest of aromas and it makes the room smell clean and fresh. As it also acts as an odour neutraliser, it really does help to eliminate nasty smells, and it doesn't just cover them up. It seems to last for ages too, so I don't have to keep on coming back to re-spray time and time again. I always make sure that I spray into the centre of the room and not directly onto upholstery or soft furnishings, such as curtains etc., as the back of the can does contain a warning that it may mark or stain. I prefer to use spray air fresheners and odour neutralisers instead of the plug in air fresheners, as I always feel I have more control and also they are usually a lot less expensive to buy. This one from Oust is definitely a firm favourite of mine and it does a fantastic job. Highly recommended.
Air fresheners are what I use regularly in my home along with scented candles so that it does smell a little nicer. It is very important to me for my home to smell nice because I have a cat and sometimes when I return home after being out for the day my home does smell a little of pet smells. This is when I mostly use a can of freshener because it is an instant smell and also I use it more often to remove cooking smells. This freshener comes in a slim line, tall can. The amount is 300ml in this can and so quite a lot for the price. I paid only £1 from my local store on offer. It has an inverted nozzle and is very easy to just press and spray with this one and not having to keep replacing a top every time it is used. With this one it does not have a direct spray, it sprays evenly into the air and it has a really nice, fine mist and is not too heavy. This means it does not land on furniture and wet it etc. just a nice mist that lands well around the room. It has a really nice fragrance and one that I can best describe as floral and just a nice smell of fresh flowers. The name reflects well for this one because it is like the garden coming into the home and gives for a nice fragrance in each room it is sprayed. Only a quick spray for a few seconds into the middle of the room into the air is all that is needed with this one because it has a really good quality and so it is one that does not need to be sprayed for too long. There is no need to keep spraying because it is not necessary because just the couple of seconds is well enough to freshen the room nicely. As I said I have a cat and a neighbours cat that almost lives in my home and so pet smells are apparent in my home. This spray neutralises those pet odours very well and I am pleased with how it eliminates those horrid smells perfectly. It is a nice one for the bathroom too. It is one that can be sprayed into any room that you may want to give for a pleasant smell. It is really good for removing the smell of fish, it removed the smell of fish recently in my home from cooking and although I do not mind the smell of fish, I do not like it when it lingers around my home awhile after it has been cooked. There is nothing worse than a cooking smell that just smells way after it has been cooked. This spray eliminates the smell very well. I do not smoke or any of my family members but I do think that if you are a smoker this one would certainly help to remove the smell of smoke around your home quite nicely. Lots of people do still smoke inside their homes and I just think this one would be worth buying to help the rooms smell a little bit nicer after smoking. There is nothing worse than the smell of a stale smoke smell in a room. This one would help to make the room smell nice and fresh for at least a while, especially if you are expecting visitors and you want your home to smell nice when they arrive. I really love this one, it is one that I am going to buy again in the future. I highly do recommend it for others to give it a go. It is well worth the money and it works very well at helping to keep the rooms smelling really nice and fresh and leaves them with a nice fresh, floral fragrance. It is a well known brand and one that has a nice name to go with the fragrance of this product. The can is easily recycled after use too. This one gives me all the I expect from a branded air freshener, good value for the money and a good smelling air freshener and quality. It is affordable for most budgets too. A little certainly does go a very long way with this Oust spray. There are lots of different fragrances with this brand but I do like this one quite a lot for my home. Also on Ciao under my username pinky50. I give this one 5 stars. Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
Whilst I could never claim to be a huge fan of aerosol air fresheners I do have to concede that they can and do add some freshness and fragrance when sprayed around my home. A combination of doggy odours, cigarette smells and dirty nappies don't make for a particularly pleasant ambiance to live in at times, especially during the Winter months when it's not always practical to have the windows open and there are only so much I can expect a fragranced candle to do so I tend to buy whatever air freshener is available on special offer when I need some. The range of Oust fresheners were recently available for £1.00 per can in Tesco and taking the opportunity to stock up I bought a few cans in the different fragrances that were on offer. Garden Fresh wouldn't necessarily have been my first choice given the fact that I assumed it was going to be a floral fragrance and not really suited to my own tastes but I decided to give it a try as I like the brand and find them to be good fresheners for eliminating rather than just masking erroneous smells. Sold as shown in the picture here Oust's Garden Fresh has a red top so easily noticeable on a supermarket shelf and features a simple push-button atomiser which releases a decent spray or fragrance when pressed. Rather than being a heavy, floral fragrance Garden Fresh is light and airy whilst containing some flowery notes which are rather pleasant. It's not a cloying fragrance at all which suited me down to the ground and I found that it didn't take too many sprays for it to be noticeable without being too overpowering. It reminded me of some of the lighter floral fragrances that Yankee Candles produce and whilst aerosol air fresheners have nowhere near the amount of longevity that a scented candle has Garden Fresh proved itself to be an effective freshener that did manage to get rid of any nasty smells that might have been lingering. I found it particularly useful in the kitchen, the only room in my home that I smoke in (though cigarette odours do have a nasty habit of drifting into other rooms), and this combined with having my kitchen window open manages to get rid of the majority of tobacco odours. I find it to be a good food-smell neutraliser which again makes it ideal for use in a kitchen and after giving a quick spray into each of my rooms I find that my home smells a lot fresher than it did prior to its use. None of the Oust fragrances have a huge amount of longevity I don't think and generally after around 15 minutes I can no longer detect the fragrance that they offer, this is a shame really as Garden Fresh is really quite nice but for a quick spray round on a morning time I think it offers a good way of freshening up my home. Nothing really beats having the windows open but as it's not really the weather to have them open for long at the moment I have to make do with fragranced candles and air fresheners so overall I have very few complaints with this one from Oust and would recommend it to other people. For a quid I can't grumble too much even if it doesn't have massive longevity, a can lasts me a good few weeks and it's a quick and effective way of adding a bit of fragrance round my home. It's certainly not as cheap or artificial smelling compared to some other generic air fresheners that are available and I do think that Oust have produced a nice product here. Overall, Garden Fresh would be a fragrance I buy again in the future and it gets a very good 4 star rating from me here. Thanks for reading my review.
When you have pets they do of course come with their own special odours! Now, as a homeowner I hate the smell of 'dog' yet I own them but I do everything in my power to ensure that my home smells as normal as possible as I'd hate people to walk into my house and smell that horrible scent of dog. Therefore, I am always using products which have been designed to minimise odours some with great success and some not so great. One product that I have used which seems to give somewhat good results is the Oust Aerosol Garden Fresh. I have used Oust products before and generally find that they are good value for money so when I came across this aerosol in my local Wilkinsons I thought it was definitely worth a try especially given the fact that it was reduced to £1 per can! == The Aerosol == Oust Aerosol Garden Fresh has a specialist formula whereby it helps to neutralise odours in the air and therefore leaving the room smelling clean and fresh. It's fast action definitely makes it a quick fix in making sure a room smells fresh. == Packaging == The aerosol comes in an aerosol canister with a press down spray. Because the scent is 'Garden Fresh' it does have a pink theme with images of a flower garden and flowers are depicted on the front of the canister. There is also the Oust logo together with product name on the front. On the back there is product information, directions on how to use it as well as warnings information and the list of ingredients. == In Use == I generally use the aerosol when I am cleaning almost as to finish the room off once it has been polished and vacummed. However, it does come in handy when you want to freshen the rooms up especially if you have people coming over. The aerosol is easy to use as you simply press down on the top of the spray and it comes out in a fine mist which does cover a considerable area. The scent of the aerosol is 'Garden Fresh' and I was expecting something quite sweet and floral given that Oust opted for a pink theme to its packaging. Instead you get a floral fragrance which isn't sweet but definitely quite fresh and has a clean aroma to it which is quite nice. Certainly makes a change from other floral type air fresheners as it doesn't have such a synthetic smell to it. I really do quite like this air freshener as it is one of the only products that promise to eliminate odours which does actually work quite well. I find that it really does freshen up the room for quite some time which is nice. You do have to be careful with it on some fabrics but my sofas in the house are absolutely fine and they also freshen up quite well. I can spray this in my house and a good few hours later I can still get a faint whiff of it and no odours. == Overall == Now, I know it doesn't eliminate all odours forever but it definitely does a good job in helping to keep my house smelling clean and fresh. I really cannot find fault with it at all. It does exactly what it offers and I am perfectly happy to buy it again. Because I find it so useful I can easily recommend it to those wanting to eliminate odours and can award it 5 stars. == Product Information == Brand: Oust Price: From £1.00 Size: 300ml
Having a dog at home I do like to make sure that I have an air freshener around just to keep the home smelling nice. I tend to opt for whatever is on offer really as I like to have an air freshener downstairs and in the bathroom and the one that I am using downstairs at the moment is the Oust garden fresh fragrance. I remember when Oust first came out and its big selling point was the fact that it claimed to be an odour eliminator as opposed to just an air freshener. The fact that the product claims to eliminate odours as opposed to just masking them is a real bonus for me because I don't like any bad smells in my house at all. The product is made by the SC Johnson family which is one that I am happy to trust as I see it as a recognised brand. The garden fresh Oust that I have at the minute comes in a tall tin which does just look like any other air freshening product really. It features the Oust name in large blue letters across the front which is immediately visible on the shelf and I particularly like the almost fun looking font in which they use to provide information on the front of their tin. This one tells us that the fragrance of this product is garden fresh and this is backed up by a picture of some pink flowers in what looks to be the biggest garden known to man which also has mountains in the background! Oh how I wish! The tin has a pink top part which is what drew me to choosing this fragrance as I love anything pink! Now this brand does claim that its special formula neutralises bad smells in the air such as those from pets, the bathroom, smoke and musty mildew odours leaving your home smelling fresh. I wouldn't say that my home smells particularly as I do like to keep on top of cleaning but obviously there are occasions when an odour will fill the air and I do want something that will take care of that. To use this product you should shake the can and then spray the product in to the middle of the room. The product is not designed to be used on fabrics and I personally like to take my dog out of the room I am spraying it in though this isn't something which the packaging advises and so it is more a personal preference. The spray is quite powerful when you push the button and so it will quickly release plenty of the fragrance in to the room I find. You only need a few bursts of the spray to release a good amount of the fragrance and so a tin really does last a long time I find. The scent of this product is what seals the deal for me to be honest. It is quite a sweet and floral scent and I find it really pleasant. The scent fills the room quite quickly and soon the bulk of any bad odours are removed. I find that this works well in the bathroom and for general freshening up around the home but for cooking scents such as after I have cooked burgers or something the scent can seem to linger even when you can no longer smell the oust and so I will give it another few bursts of the spray. A 300ml of this product can often be found either on offer in a supermarket or sometimes in the pound shops obviously selling for a pound. I think this is an excellent product for covering and removing bad smells around the home and it has a really nice fresh fragrance which isn't too artificial smelling. I would certainly recommend this product to you for around the house. Thank you for reading my review!
When searching for a replacement for our Febreeze which had run out, I came across this for just £1 in Asda and decided to give it a go. I had seen all the adverts about how it actually gets rid of the smell and doesn't cover it up, and decided to give it a shot. After all, even if it doesn't get rid of the smell as it claims - it's worth it for just a pound! I also desperatly needed it because it can get pretty whiffy with our dog Lola around! The Container The container looks like most air freshners do, but has a quite different feature colour. The usaul whitey-green and a quite refreshing deep reddy pink. Although it doesn't really suit my house, it stays in the cupboard hidden away, so I don't mind. For the right person though, I think it is quite a nice idea to have a brighter colour. The lid which covers the button you use to spray comes off easy enough for me but I think a weaker old person would struggle a bit. Underneath it hides the usaul spray button, so no suprise there. All in all I give the container a 5/5 star rating - it does what it needs to as well as it can. The Smell A nice refreshing outside smell - just as it claims! I will admit I was suprised because when I brought it for just a pound I wasn't expecting what came out of the container. It does smell like the great outdoors and is really relaxing - not overpowering. It also stays and keeps everything smelling fine and dandy for a good while which is a big plus. It isn't too feminime either as my other half and teenage son like the smell as much as I do. Another big thumbs up! Again a 5/5 star rating for a really nice fresh smell which is balanced out really nicely! Does it get rid of odours? As far as I can say, yes it does! When the naturey scent finally dissapears you're left with a non smelly house! That is quite an achievment as well because when we leave the dog for a few hours and get back... well it isn't nice! So a few sprays of this just helps things along and I am pleased to say - keeps the smells away for at least the next few hours! I can also say that it gets rid of all smells I have ever challenged it with - be it smelly food, puke and many other things that really don't smell very nice! 5/5 stars because it does what it says! Warnings Like normal, keep out of reach from children, don't put it near a naked flame and don't keep it in tempretures hotter than 50 celsius. The normal stuff, but I thought I better put it so some idiot doesn't go and blow them selves up! Overall I would definetly recommend this to you, even if you don't have pets it is still a great thing to have in the cupboard and really does come in useful at times. So yeah, I would recommend! 5/5 stars for Oust Aerosol Garden Fresh Thanks for reading!
When me and my partner moved in together last year I didn't really have much intention of buying an aerosol air freshener. To be honest, it wasn't really something I had considered as at home we had rarely had them, instead having gel fresheners, reed diffusers, plug ins etc. However after much insistence from the OH I picked up this Oust from Asda where it was on offer for just £1. I then found another one in the kitchen cupboard a few months later which we are currently using. Oust is an aerosol air freshener. Oust is special because it doesn't just mask the smell, it neutralises it therefore removing the smell and then adding a subtle fragrance to it. Both Oust sprays I have had are the garden fresh variety simply because a) the lid is pink and b) the scent is the one that sounded most appealing to me. Other scents include clean and outdoor. To use the spray you simply push down the top of the can and then spray a small amount around the room. The spray is dispensed evenly and a good amount is given meaning you don't need to stand there spraying, one simple spray is enough in most cases. The scent you initially get is freshness - it smells very clean and fresh. This is then quickly followed by a subtle floral scent which helps to brighten up the room. The scent isn't particularly longlasting, 5 minutes later and the scent has gone however so is the smell you were trying to get rid of so it does do its job! There is one problem I have found with this spray. The liquid dispensed is quite thick. The other day I sprayed a quick squirt in the hallway after the cat had used his tray and despite being a couple of metres away from the wall, both the wall and two canvas pictures were covered in little white dots which did wipe away but have left a couple of marks. I do like this air freshener. I think it does the job very well and it gets rid of odours quickly and efficiently. The floral scent is pleasant and not overpowering but I don't like the way it covered my walls! I may buy it again but I wouldn't choose it over other brands like febreeze.
I have already wrote a review of my positive experiences with the Oust air sanitiser product, and recently I picked up another can of this product but only in a different fragrance - garden fresh fragrance to be exact. THis product does come in several different fragrances but I hadn't bought this particular one before and with it being on offer in Tesco at present at a £1 I thought it was the ideal time to try it out. The main reason I needed a new can of this Oust was that we use reusable nappies which we wash every other day. Whilst they are kept in the nappy pail, I always add a few drops of tea tree oil which not only help the smell but start to work on the nappies as well. Recently however, my daughter has been teething badly and having terrible nappies. Despite me washing the nappies each day during this phase they continued to leave a terrible lingering smell in our bathroom, that isn't usually there thanks to the tea tree oil. From my previous experience of using Oust, I knew that it had the capacity to get rid of strong smells quickly and effectively. This Oust product claims to eliminate odours without just masking them by tackling the odour causing bacteria in the air. The garden fresh scent is a nice change and apart from getting rid of the bad smell left from the bad nappies, it did leave a fresh summery smell that was pleasant when you came into the bathroom. As I found previously with the Oust product that I used, it did effectively get rid of the bad odour in the room and kept it away. It certainly didn't just mask it like other air fresheners do, as the smell didn't return until we had more bad nappies added to the nappy bucket. Thankfully we are past the bad nappies and another tooth has popped through so the Oust has done its job for now, but it was totally effective in getting rid of the bad smell left by the nappies that was so awful in our bathroom. This worked perfectly until we had another bad nappy but then we simply sprayed it again and the smell went away. A great product and something to always have at hand at home!
Air freshener is a staple part of my cleaning regime, I clean a room, then give it a zap with an air freshener, I think it finishes off the clean with a nice smell, instead of that of the smell of cleaning chemicals. I love the Oust range and often buy a can when Asda do their special cleaning events. ---Packaging--- This Oust garden fresh comes in the normal Oust packaging, basic white with the Oust branding. The top of the can is a deep red/pink colour, signifying the garden fresh scent of the air freshener, other scents are available and each have different coloured tops. ---Oust!--- Oust claims to eliminate all bad odours instead of just masking them. This is a fantastic claim, and the air freshener does indeed live up to these claims. Using this in the bathroom and kitchen after using strong cleaning fluids does get rid of the foul chemical smell and replaces it with the garden fresh scent. The trigger for the spray isn't like some other air fresheners where you have to take the lid of to press on the trigger. It is interlocked into the design on the top of the spray can which means it isn't one of those small white buttons you press on other designed triggers. This one is moulded into the lid, and has a much bigger area in which you can push to release the air freshener. The scent smells exactly like the garden, it's a hard scent to describe, but a mix of flowers and summer seem to sum it up nicely. It is a fresh and uplifting scent. After spraying some of the air freshener, the scent does linger in the room for a while, after the scent has disappeared it doesn't bring back the bad smell that was in the room before, due to it's odour eliminating properties, it just smells of nothing really. ---Overall--- Oust usually retails at around £2, but is often on offer, especially during Asda's cleaning events for £1, so wait around then stock up! I'd definitely recommend this air freshener, not only does it smell good and lingers for a while, but it also gets rid of the bad smells that were there before! Originally written April 2012
I always like to keep topped up with air fresheners in the home so that it is always left smelling lovely, and I always ensure that there is one in the bathroom at all times. I have tried out numerous amounts of fresheners but after seeing the brand Oust on various adverts, I knew it did a little more than the average air freshener in that it works to remove the smell altogether as well. I thought it was worth a try so I picked one up in the supermarket for just over £1.00 which was a reasonable price, and not that much more expensive than the usual ones I buy. I think there was a few scents, but I opted for Garden Fresh, firstly because the name of it sounded like something I would like, and secondly I have to admit for the sole fact it was pink. It comes as shown in the image above, quite a clean cut yet quality looking air freshener, and I was hoping for big results from this. You get a reasonable amount in this spray which is 300ml worth, probably about the same as your average air freshener, which I think is great for the price. It is formulated to work on even the strongest of smells, and is recommended for use on bad air molecules, within pet environments, for bathroom use, to mask the scent of smoke and finally to eliminate musty odours. As somebody who does not own a pet or live with smokers, these were not for me, however I specifically purchased mine for use in the bathroom or other rooms if necessary. To use this it is quite simple, and when you hold down the spray it does not come out too powerfully, and just the right amount is sprayed. I hold it down for about five to ten seconds depending on the size of the room and just spray everywhere, focusing on above mainly so that the spray can work itself down and thoroughly clean out the room. The first thing to notice was the lovely scent of this. I was slightly apprehensive that 'garden fresh' may mean your bathroom could end up smelling of pine or trees, and this was my worst nightmare! However, just to my delight it is an extremely light and fresh scent with hints of flowers. I would say it is the perfect air freshener for use within bathrooms, although it would work fantastic in any room, and would also be a lovely scent to spray in rooms before guests arrive as it is a very welcoming scent. I was impressed with this, but did it remove the smells altogether? Thankfully, I am happy to say that Oust really does do the job. It is much better than your bog standard air freshener in that it does work to remove nasty smells altogether. I can not vouch for whether it works on stronger scents such as smoke or pets, but as an all around air freshener it is really quite lovely and does remove lingering smells quite quickly. One thing to note is that the smell does not stay strong for very long and I was a little bit disappointed by this, but at least it does work to remove the original bad smell. Overall, an excellent air freshener with a little something extra in that it removes nasty scents. I have to knock off one star purely because the Oust scent does not last too long and this was a disappointment in my eyes. Thank you for reading.
I find that air fresheners are now are often on special offer and very cheap for branded ones. I have been in lots of shops recently and see a lot for around just a £1 and the normal price has been almost £2 and so a good saving. This one is housed in a tall can, it has a nozzle that is inserted and easy to press, it does not come with a lid and so it means it is easier to just grab and use and I do find this convenient. This can is 300ml and so quite a lot of freshener for the price. The spray comes out of the can nicely, it is an even spray and does not drip from the can, it is an even mist and all I do is spray it into the centre of my rooms and it does not shoot out of the can and land on my furniture as I have found with some other sprays. This one just lands with a light mist. This light mist means it does not ruin my furniture and make it wet or damp. It just lands lightly and in a way that I prefer a spray to land. The smell of the freshener is one that smells of flowers, the floral smell is pleasant but not too strong. The spray kills odours around the home and neutralises them. I have pets and this spray helps to remove those pet odours but it does not totally remove them but it just helps for a more pleasant smell in the room where my pets sleep. It is advised not to directly spray near where a pet sleeps but just in the room etc. I find this one does help remove strong food smells such as curries and fish. It does help the room smell more fresher and more cleaner. It removes those stale smells when you have been out of the home for the day and returned. It helps the room smell a little more fresher. It is a nice one for the bathroom and it leaves a fresher smell in this particular room as well as a lounge or whichever room it is being used in. I like this one, it is good quality and good value for the price, the brand is a good one and this fragrance is a lasting one and it apparent for quite some time after it has been sprayed in a room. It is worth the money and one I will buy again in the future. The smell of flowers is a good choice because it is one that is more suitable to most people. I rate this one 5 stars.
Air fresheners have come a long way in recent years. We made a lot of curries and still do. They smell lovely and aromatic when they're cooking but the smell does tend to take over the house somewhat. I remember as a youngster how they'd just mask a strong smell with their scent, mixing in with it and creating a new stranger smell. This was also true in the bathroom when someone had done a particularly smelly number (not me of course!) and was not the most pleasant aroma. Several years later a new brand of air-freshener was released called Oust. They made the bold claim that this would not just mask strong smells but actually work to eliminate them. This to me seemed like a refreshing idea and I soon bought home a can to test out. I have not looked back since. They come in several varieties and the one I am reviewing today is the garden fresh one. This comes in a tall 300ml can with a pink top. The front of the can has a picture of a field of flowers with a mountain in the background. Unlike a lot of air fresheners on the market this does not have a separate lid and the spray is released by pressing the nozzle that has been integrated into the top. I like this kind of design as I tend to either struggle with removing the lid as they are usually quite tight or end up losing them altogether! The nozzle itself is not one of those tiny rectangular white ones that is found on top of the can but a flatter one that blends into the design of the lid. Whenever I have used the nozzle I have found it easy to depress and release the spray. Oust claim at the back of the can that the spray has a special formula to neutralise bad odour molecules in the air such as pet, bath, smoke and musty/mildew odours leaving the home smelling clean and fresh. I have to say that this certainly lives up to its claim! I have used it when cooking and the pungent smell of spices is quickly dissipated leaving the slightly sweet and floral smell of the freshener behind. I tend to find heavily floral sprays to be too strong and prefer lighter smells like this one so it works well for me. There have also been occasions where I've burnt something in the kitchen. Annoyingly the smell is quite quick to get around the house, particularly to the upstairs bedrooms, despite the kitchen door usually being closed. A quick squirt of Oust into each of the rooms soon sorts this out though, leaving the rooms smelling fresh without any hint of burnt aroma around. It also works really well in the bathroom and going in after someone has done a number 2 is no longer an ordeal! Whenever I have used the air freshener it has worked quickly and in around a minute r so the odour has been eliminated. I have been really impressed with Oust and although I have wavered from time to time and bought other, more traditional air fresheners, I have always returned to this as using the others just reinforced for me how good Oust actually is. Oust is available in all major supermarkets and is priced at around the £2.00 mark. This is great value for money and comes with my recommendation!
Oust is a product we've been buying on and off for a while now, with a dog in the house we often find the need for a freshen up in the house. Most aerosol's just cover up the scent whereas Oust claims to eliminate odours which is obviously better. We've always previously purchased Oust in the original 'Clean Scent' however my Mum recently picked up the Garden Fresh scent in Asda for just £1 and it is this I'll be reviewing now. The spray comes in a pressurised aerosol can which obviously should be kept away from children, naked flames and temperature over fifty degrees Celsius. The packaging is quite attractive with a colour scheme of white and bright pink, it might not suit everyone's home but personally we keep the spray in the cleaning cupboard anyway so it's not out on show. The lid easily comes off the reveal the usual aerosol spray push button used to dispense the scent. With using I was shocked at just how good the scent was, for only a pound I was expecting it to be good, trusting the Oust brand but the fragrance was very fresh and very summery. Although I wouldn't say our house smelt, occasionally if we've been out and the dog's been in on his own for a while with the windows closed then it can smell a little bit doggy when we come in. The spray immediately eliminates these odours without smelling superficial and like a cover up. We've also found the spray really good if we've been cooking or eating smelly foods such as curry, fish or fried food, again the odours are very easy to eliminate and the house smells lovely and fresh. The summery garden scent lingers quite strongly for a while, but it's not overpowering at all. The stronger scent doesn't last too long but the air is left lovely and fresh, odours definitely eliminated. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Oust Garden Fresh to anybody as we all have occasions when our houses need a bit of a freshen up. The price is really good as the product lasts for ages even with frequent use and smells aren't just masked they're completely gone leaving a clean smelling, fresh house.
