Advantages: A bargain! Can be refilled, great brand, can hang it around your neck.
Disadvantages: I don't want anyone to steal this pen!
Fed up of pens going missing from my desk and having nothing to write with when a customer called, I decided to keep my eye out for a pen I could easily keep with me. I've seen some pens you can hang around your neck etc, but I didn't think they looked great and half of them didn't seem to write great either... Then I came across the Parker Slinger II pen.
The Parker Slinger II is a ball point pen with a lanyard attached so you can hang it around your neck. Parker is THE brand when it comes to pens. There's no doubt about it, Parker pens are quality pens, so I knew this ballpoint pen would write nicely and last the tests of time.
The Parker Slinger II is a chunky pen, which isn't a feature I'd normally go for, but this does feel nice in my hand and I can write nicely with. The lanyard is attached to a small cone-like cap which simply clips on and off the pen... whether or not the ballpoint is out (ready to write). The barrel clicks to expose the ballpoint and again to retract it back in. The barrel of the pen has a polish chrome finish (which makes the pen looks great) and has a sturdy plastic clip (mine is black, Mum's is purple, but I've seen other colours available too) so it can be secured in a pocket.
My pen writes in blue ink, but I believe you can buy them with black ink. The end simply screws off to enable you to put a refill in the pen.
Best of all... I've seen these retailing for £4 - 6.50, but I only paid £2.99 for mine from Partners! I've bought Mum one too, but guess what? Mine hasn't made it to work, because I like it so much I wouldn't want it to go missing!
Summary: A great pen!

- 29/10/09 That's probably a good idea for people who work in offices with lots of tea leafs. Luckily I can just order more biros from office services when mine are (inevitably) pinched! |
