“ Brand: Past Times / Misc House Type: Photo / Picture Frame „
Last year my husband and I finally sealed the deal and got married! It happened fairly quickly with just a few months of planning and so I didn't really have a chance to think about all the wedding photos and how we would display them. We received several beautiful photo frames when we got married that we've proudly displayed around our home but I wanted something special for a bookcase in our living room. I started looking around but just couldn't find the perfect frame and then around this time last year I came across this photo frame in Past Times. I absolutely adore past times as their shops are just jam packed full of beautiful little trinkets. I actually went in to Past Times for a large novelty Christmas decoration that I had seen reduced to half price and I spotted this while browsing the items. I believe I paid £5.00 for this frame but it was on special as the store was only open for the Christmas period and had lots of special offers on. This photo frame is in the shape of a heart and is ideal for a heart shaped photograph. We actually had a novelty photograph printed when we got our wedding photos which shows my husband and I in the shape of a heart cloud. Now we've not shown this off to anyone as it was really intended as part of a long running family joke related to wedding photos but actually I thought it looked sweet and this has been the ideal frame for it. The pale pink of the frame is an enamel which looks beautiful and I love the marbled effect throughout it. The effect is even all over yet unique to look at and it really is very pretty and feminine. This adds a lovely touch to our bookcase which is mainly full of my husbands collectable books that are very masculine to look at and I really like the contrast between his tastes and mine. There is a little silver area around the outside of the photo frame section and this has pretty little flowers on it too. I love these crystal flowers as they are very sparkly and they catch the light too when the sun is shining in the morning or last thing at night across my living room. This is elegant and pretty without being too over the top or blinged up. Using this photo frame is very simple and you can remove the back like you do with all photo frames. Then there is a piece of glass and you can just cut your photo and fit it in to place. I found it easy enough to get my photograph to fit this frame however I already had a photograph that really was the ideal shape for a photo frame like this. The back of this is secure and I've never had a problem with my photograph falling out of the frame or anything. The stand on the back of this frame is sturdy and it has never fallen over or closed up causing the frame to fall over. This is even though our cat sometimes goes over and starts to sniff it or touch it so it really is sturdy and well balanced. I feel that this frame is worth 5 out of 5 stars. It looks lovely, it is sturdy and it has been standing in the same place for almost a year now and there has been no damage occur to this either. The crystal flowers still look fantastic now and I can just give this a wipe over when I am doing my polishing to keep it looking fantastic. I was pleased with the price that I paid which I think may have been half price however I'm not 100% sure now. I would definitely recommend this photo frame as it looks pretty and it is stylish too without being too feminine for my husband to put up with. It is very pink and shiny but it just compliments our wedding photo so nicely and despite being a different shade of pink to the walls in our living room (which are more red as it turns out) this still fits in nicely and looks fantastic.
I recently was looking for a few photo frames for some of our holiday photos, we purchased some to go with our lounge but whilst browsing in a local shop Past Times which was having a closing down sale I came across the Pink Heart Photo Frame, it was a perfect match for our bedroom and I thought it would like quite nice sat on our bedside table. Being attracted to anything which is in pink I had to have it, also as it was a closing down sale I got the photo frame for half price so it was a bit of a bargain. The actual photo frame is in the shape of a heart, the outer part of the frame is made from a pale pink enamel which looks as though it has a sort of marble finish to it, this is edged with a thin silver border both around the outside of the frame and around the actual photo area as well. The area which the photo sits in is also heart shaped to mirror the shape of the frame itself, going around this part of the frame is a silver chain effect border made up of small silver ovals with eight silver flowers spaced out around it, inside some of the oval shapes and the flowers are small crystals which really sparkle when the light catches them. The design is quite simple and the frame is not over fussy but it really does look pretty sitting in our bedroom. The back of the frame can be removed in order to insert the picture, this is the same as most frames in that a section of the back removed to reveal the glass front of the photo area, you simply place the picture inside the frame and replace the back section clipping it in place, with some larger photos you may need to trim the edges in order to get the photo to fit in the frame as it is not a regular shape and not a huge frame, although the actual display area is quite large in comparison to some other frames we have where the frame is larger than the display area. The back of the frame has a strut used to stand the frame up, when you purchase the frame this is pressed flat again the back of the photo frame but just needs to be pulled outwards in order to stand the frame up. The strut is positioned in just the right place to ensure that the frame is well balanced and cannot fall over, it is nice and sturdy which also helps with the stability of the frame. The whole frame measures 8.2cm (H) x 7.9cm (W) approximately with a display area of 2.5 x 2.5 again these are approximate measurements, the photo frame is not massive so obviously there are going to be some photos you cannot display in this frame, however for us it is the perfect size for our bedroom allowing us to display one of our holiday photos, it is not too bulky but on the other hand not so small that no photos will ever fit in it. As I have said I purchased the Pink Heart Photo frame from a shop called Past Times (they also have a website) the shop was having a closing down sale, although this closing down sale has been going on for several months so I actually wonder whether they are closing down or not, anyway because of this sale all items were half price, the frame was originally priced at £10.00 however I only paid £5.00 for it which I think was quite a bargain. Personally I think £10.00 is a little expensive for this item, however I think I would still be tempted to buy it due to how well it goes with our colour scheme, but I was more than happy to pay £5.00 for it. The frame is very well made, none of the crystals have fallen off of the frame when I have been dusting and the strut has remained strong meaning the frame does not keep falling over, generally the frame is of very good quality and very well made, definitely worth the money. I have since had a look online and it seems that the frame is also being sold at £5.00 on there now reduced from £10.00. I would definitely recommend the Pink Heart Photo Frame, it is very girly and would be suitable for both adults and young girls who like anything pink. This frame is ideal for any smaller photos you might have and would also make a lovely present for somebody. We have our frame in the bedroom as it goes with the colour scheme but it would be suitable to have in any room. Overall I feel this item was well worth the money and is a product I would recommend.
I am a massive fan of most things from Past Times. It is one of mine and my boyfriends favourite shops and often we buy trinkets from there. We both love the old feel of things and the fact they are so well made and of late there is usually a sale on of some description too which helps! I love photographs dotted around and about my home and was recently in Past Times looking for a new one. I only wanted something small and dainty for a small photograph of my family dog that recently passed away and this seemed ideal for me and not only was it light pink and heart shaped but it is currently on sale for £8.00 rather that its usual £10.00 (for a limited time only) and from instore and from the Past Time website (which is www.pasttimes.com.). This quite simply is a rather small, very light pink and silver enamelled heart shaped frame that measures 8.2h x 7.9w and holds a photograph measuring 2.5 x 2.5. The frame although silver in colour is actually pewter in materials and then the heart itself is enamelled with silver embossting on it and a few, scatted cleared round crystals to give a wee bit of bling to the piece. The pink shell colour is really evenly enamelled on there, the crystals sparkle slighty and the silver pattern is really tidy, dainty and intricate. In the hole to the front of it there is a clear glass panel that isn't very thick and that's of course the window to your photograph! The back of the frame is secured on and simply flips open to pop your photograph in and then you secure it by sliding up two little black clips. This is simply a photograph frame that is meant to be put on something so it has a little rest to the back of the frame it simply leans on nicely and that is this photograph frame in a nutshell. Pretty to look at, weighty and it stands really well indeed and of course looks really beautiful quality considering where it comes from and not one bit tacky. This comes gift boxed too as and as it is an exclusive design for Past Times comes in a yellow and green box simply with Past Times written on one corner of it and with white tissue paper inside. It really is a nice quality and not one bit tacky, small photo frame, easy to dust and look after and it will serve me for years and I really like this one!
