      A good strong clothes peg

After buying a pink peg bucket from a local independent store I was on the lookout for some pink pegs. The ones I had been using were rubbish. Although they seemed to grip over the clothes line well and seemed quite strong the washing would slide along the line. I would get back from work and a line full of clothes would all have blown up one end of the line and hang there in a bundle. I'm also losing pegs all the time, my youngest cat layla keeps taking them from the peg pot whilst I'm using them and running of with them. I spotted these pink pegs in my local pound store and not only were they pink they looked strong too.

The pegs are made by Bently and are called ultra Clothes Pegs, I got 20 pegs for my £1.00 and the cardboard sleeve informs the customer that they will be rust free and have rubber tips for a better grip.

Each peg approximately 8cm's long and are 2 shades of pink. The pale pink parts feel like the usual hard plastic pegs are made from and the darker shades have a rubbery feel to them. The arms of the pegs that you press to open it is made from rubbery type plastic, its easy to grip and non slip so the peg wont ping out of your hand. The metal spring in the middle of the peg is strong and feels firm when I peg clothes out on the line. The part of the peg that grips the laundry is made from the non slip rubbery feeling plastic and is raised where the peg grips the material, this is so the pegs don't leave marks on your clothes. There's nothing worse than peg marks on the washing.

After using the pegs I am really pleased I bought them. I did have my doubts with them being in the pound store but these have turned out to be a good buy. They grip the clothes really well, the washing doesn't slide up and down the line even in the recent really windy weather we have had the clothes stayed firm on the line and didn't budge.

Despite the pegs really gripping well the raised rubber part that grips your clothes doesn't leave peg marks in delicate fabric. I hate bending over waistbands when I peg trousers and skirts out and these enable me to do this without Marks jeans coming un-pegged, something that often happened with my old pegs.

All in all I'm more than pleased with my Bently pink pegs, in fact I have since been back and bought another packet. They grip so well without marking clothes and keep the washing in place in really windy weather.

I bought my pegs from a local store but they can be found at various on line stores including www.jacksonscamping.com. where they are £1.99.
