~Poundland Padded Envelopes~

Poundland offer quite a large range of packaging products. They currently offer three different sized packs of padded envelopes.

*7pack (sometimes you find packs with 8) of small envelopes
*5pack (sometimes you find packs of 6) of medium envelopes
*3pack of large envelopes

These envelopes are padded out with a bubble insert and feature a sticky tab seal. The envelopes are stacked together and come wrapped in an outer plastic wrapper. These envelopes are designed to add a little extra protection when posting things that are bigger than a letter or greetings card.

~Price and Availability~

As you would expect, these envelopes are available in Poundland stores at £1.00 per packet!

~My Thoughts~

As an avid eBayer, I need to buy quite a lot of packaging supplies. My sister is the same and can often spend up to £10 a week on various sized envelopes, bubble wrap and tape. Before Poundland was opened in my town, I bought my envelopes wholesale online or from the local Post Office when I was running low. The Post Office charges a fortune for envelopes and I totally grudge it now so usually make sure I have stock of Poundland envelopes in my home.

These envelopes represent excellent value for money and are definitely a worthwhile purchase if you post a lot of parcels. I would highly recommend them to eBayers in particular as they do reduce your postage outgoings which is essential given how much Royal Mail have increased postage prices recently. I'm not sure if all Poundland stores will be the same but sometimes they do not have all sizes available. On this odd occasion I pop to the nearby Poundworld - yes I am a traitor but what can you do?

The envelopes are a tan colour and do not look as padded as Jiffy bags but I have never had issues with them remaining together and secure during their journey! The envelopes open up to various widths and a substantial amount of bubble wrap is securely and neatly located in each envelope. The envelopes do seal well and remain sealed for their journey without splitting open. They are of a good quality. It is easy enough to write on them without the ink seeping through to the contents and stamps/postage stickers stick well without falling off.

I use all three sizes but probably use the medium envelopes most often. The smaller envelopes are still a good size and are perfect for items which are small enough to be considered 'large letter' size by Royal Mail ie CDs, lipsticks, face masks etc. The medium sized envelopes are the most convenient for me for eBay parcels including DVDs, boxsets, make up lots, body lotion tubes etc. Some of these products would fit in the smaller envelopes length wise but the width makes the smaller envelope become too bulky and crumpled looking so I always go for the medium size. I only use the large size occasionally as I don't often post bigger items. I have posted two parcels requiring bigger envelopes recently including a tin of goodies for a secret santa (the tin was quite big) and a tin of shortbread which I was sending to a friend.

I am aware of how rough Royal Mail can be with parcels so I wouldn't use these envelopes for anything breakable such as an ornament or candle jar. I wouldn't use any envelope for these more fragile items as I would prefer to bubble wrap and box to avoid any mishaps. I normally just use these envelopes for various eBay parcels and they are perfectly fine for this purpose. I've not had any leakages (from body creams/sachets) or damages which I find excellent given how many parcels I have sent using these envelopes for protection. They are durable and do not tear or burst without a great deal of force.

~Conclusion~

I find it difficult to give anything but praise for these envelopes. They may not looking anything special but they have saved both myself and my sister a fortune over the last few years and I will continue to buy them. It is sad that I get excited about finding an 8 pack rather than a 7 pack? Every penny helps though - get down to Poundland!

Thanks for reading :)
