Poundland Padded Envelopes
Advantages: They are very cheap and are strong envelopes
Disadvantages: The sticky part is not always very strong
WHAT ARE THEY?
Padded envelopes from Poundland. You can buy different sizes but I only buy the medium envelopes, these come in a pack of 6 and are the right size for lots of different things.
WHAT I USE THEM FOR
I started buying the envelopes from Poundland last year because I had listed a lot of beauty tutorial DVDs on Ebay. I had been buying single envelopes when I needed them but it was getting very expensive so I bought a pack of these to try and have been buying them ever since. I haven't got any right now to measure them but they hold up to 3 DVDs and you can also put a book in the envelopes or bulkier things because the envelopes open out wide.
WHAT I THINK
These are very good envelopes. Sometimes the sticky does not feel very strong but then I just put a piece of tape over the join and that secures the contents, that is usually when it is something shaped inside the envelope because that pulls it into a funny shape for the sticky to work properly but if I am posting something flat like a DVD or book the sticky will usually be ok. The seams are strong and I have used at least 100 of these now and have never had complaints from Ebay buyers about the envelopes, it is nice to send my items in new envelopes so they look smart when they arrive with the buyer because a lot of Ebay sellers reuse padded envelopes now and it is very rare to get a new one in the post.
The front of the envelope is a bit shiny so you can smudge the writing quite easy if you're not very careful, using a ballpoint pen it takes a minute to dry and be smudge proof but now I know I am just more careful and I do not think that is a disadvantage. My writing looks clear on the envelope and the paper covering does not run easily, I took some parcels to the post office in the rain last week and even though the top one got a bit wet my writing did not run and I do not worry that if the envelopes get wet on the way to my buyer they will be damaged. The padding on them isn't very thick so I would not use them to post fragile things unless they were wrapped in bubble wrap before being put in the envelope and even then I would probably choose one of the thicker envelopes from the post office.
I received an item in one of these envelopes when I bought some cosmetics from Ebay, I recognised the envelope and it was in very good condition when it came to me and there was no damage to the envelope or the contents inside it. The seller had done the same as me and put tape over the sticky so I think that is something a lot of people notice but the envelopes are still a bargain.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
Summary: These are very good padded envelopes
