Poundland Padded Envelopes
Advantages: Great value, range of sizes.
Disadvantages: Would not trust them for european or world wide postage.
Occasionally I will sell bits of jewellery on eBay, and once all the bidding is done and payments are received it is time to post the winners items. In an effort to keep my costs as low as possible I started buying padded envelopes from Poundland. I usually buy the medium sized padded envelopes as this gives me enough room to wrap the jewellery properly, either in a small gift box or velvet bag and pop the invoice in there too.
I feel that the Poundland envelopes are not as good quality as Jiffy padded envelopes, but at a fraction of the cost (6 for a £1) I think they are perfectly adequate for sending mainland U.K mail, if I were to send something abroad I would opt for a tougher brand of padded envelope.
The envelopes are not overly generous with the bubble padding but it is well attached to the inside of the brown envelope and is thick enough to protect the contents from most knocks and bumps the postal service give.
Sealing the envelopes is very simple as there is a peel off sticky strip that runs the length of the envelope flap, once the flap is stuck down it usually can not be undone without ripping the envelope. I usually run a strip of sellotape over the sealed envelope flap for a little extra security.
I have never had any complaints about packaging from the people I have sold to on eBay, they have all been happy with the packaging and the cost at which I offer it to them, which is thanks to these super cheap envelopes.
The envelopes are very easy to write on and the massive post office labels stick easily and firmly to the envelopes, you do have to bear in mind that the smaller the envelopes are the less room there is for an address and labels.
The envelopes are available in small, medium and large sizes. In my opinion the small envelopes are too small for most items, the medium envelopes will happily hold, CD's, DVD's and small books, the large envelopes will comfortably hold most things that you would want to post.
All things considered I feel the Poundland Padded Envelops are a good option for any one who sells a lot of items via the internet, the quality of the envelopes is of a good standard given the price, I have never had one rip or any items placed within damaged during delivery.
Thank you for reading.
Summary: Great value padded envelopes for the small time internet seller.
