I have always kept my shoes under my bed. For as long back as I can remember The problem with this was that when I wanted a pair in a hurry I ended up grabbing loads out and having to hunt and making a mess everywhere. Because I couldn't see them I never threw any out, cleaned them or anything so when I recently moved to a flat with a bigger bedroom I knew I had to do something about storing my things better and that's when I started looking for a shoe rack of some description.

I have had a wooden shoe rack once upon a time but it kept collapsing and didn't hold enough pairs so I ended to slinging the lot on it and it was another headache. This one I liked the look of when I spotted it on Amazon costing £11.67 and with free postage and packaging and promising to hold 21 pairs of shoes I ordered one to see how I got on thinking I could buy more shoe racks when and if I wanted to!

The Packaging:

The unit comes in an oblong box and on the front and on the back of it there is a photograph of the shoe rack assembled and with 21 pairs of shoes neatly stacked on it. On there we are also told that it is Prima 21 Pairs Shoe Rack 'Holds 21 pairs of shoes, easy to assemble' and is 'free standing and easy to clean' and that it measures 95cmx54cmx25cm in total where erected. There are no instructions given on the box however there are instructions given in it which are really rather useless and shown in diagram form rather than written words. Really though you don't need them anyway!

Putting It Up:

Once we got over the shock of having rubbish instructions we got on with it and to be fair to the unit it really isn't hard to pop it all together. What you get is 4 long white plastic white bits which make the sides of the unit then four end plastic matching pieces that go on the top and bottom of each side and then 12 stainless steel poles that slot into the unit to make shelves, we made up the outer unit and popped the rungs in which was simple to do so and then bashed in by hand the outer edges to make the unit tall and slim and sort of oblongish in shape (a hammer is shown to do this with on the instructions but we didn't have one to hand which didn't present us with an issue).

I was impressed that it only took us a few minutes to put together, that it wasn't fiddly and didn't' take any tools at all and that when up although made from plastic it didn't look flimsy and was rather robust in appearance. I picked it up to move it from the living room where we put it together and into my bedroom and it never fell apart or gave me any jip at all and was lightweight.

Yes it holds 21 pairs of shoes! The shelves haven't buckled under the strain and stilettos and flats and pumps and allsort sslot in securely very well indeed. However boots and the likes are not really suitable cos of height even on the bottom shelf as that has the same height as all the other shelves.

Yes its wipe clean, yes its sturdy and above all it looks nice as well as being functional. It doesn't wobble about and shoes don't fall off it when I'm near it either and I have to say this has been a fabulous purchase for me and my home! Its nice to see all my shoes lined up and easy to get to and I'm happy to recommend this to anyone who wants something like it. In fact I like mine so much that I have just ordered myself another one as its ideal!
