Advantages: An attractive doorstop that does the job and supports the RNLI.
Disadvantages: None. Good product and you are helping the Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Ahoy there, my hearties!
It's time that you help out the RNLI. How about buying this lovely doorstop as a nice contribution to the charity? The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a fantastic charity and I fear people who haven't lived by the coast but only gone on holiday there may forget how valuable the RNLI are to us.
About the charity:
Amazing people volunteer their time to keep us safe at sea and rescue people from treacherous conditions. They risk their own lives for people who get into trouble. The brave lifeboat crew are on call day and night and here's the astounding part the government DO NOT provide any funding to support their vital work. The RNLI relies completely on public donations yet it is our costal emergency service. This is shocking.
RNLI Sailboat Doorstop:
This weighted, cotton, sailboat doorstop is charming and will be a talking piece in your home for all the right reasons. It holds open the door between the lounge and dining area allowing through access. This is good because the pine door blows open when windy outside. The sailboat is chunky and won't be blown over. This doorstop weight is cushioned so there are no sharp parts jutting out. Toes are protected from being stubbed but there's nothing to be done if you aren't looking where you're going and trip over it!
The doorstop measures 25 x 23 x 10cm (10 x 9 x 4 inches). The boat is a patriotic red, white and blue pleasure seaside item. The blues are a reflection of the way the sea looks sometimes various light conditions. There's no obvious separation between the mainsail and the headsail as the boat is an all in one object with no separate parts. Aside from a cheery red flag which is the only part that just protrudes from the bulk of the sail boat. This colour is an echo of the red circles which represent portholes in the hull.
It is perfect for a coastal home but is also a wonderful reminder of the coast and happy memories, when living further inland. It is a happy reminder of the seaside and our beautiful coastline.
Time to begin your journey with the RNLI:
Weigh anchor and sail the seas but if you're a landlubber that hasn't got the legs or the head for sailing the seas than please support this wonderful organisation. Do consider buying this item which, today, is on sale for £9.95 instead of £12.95:
I purchased this in late spring from an RNLI shop in North Wales. However, it can be purchased online but P&P is £4.95. There is also a donation and gift aid option available. Remember they are lifesavers. Lifeboat stations are being closed due to funding problems. One day it could be you, your family or friend that need their help. Without the support of the public the RNLI will no longer exist and the next time you are stranded off-shore, injured or in danger, they will not be there to rescue you.
Please, take the time to explore their website and consider making a donation.
Set your sails a rippling in the breeze and allow yourself a journey with the RNLI.
Summary: The doorstop works, looks lovely, and if you buy you'll be supporting the RNLI charity.
