A luxury finish at a fair price

      ~Sanderson Victoria Curtains~

Having bought some of the other products from the Sanderson Victoria range, picking these seemed an obvious choice when it came to getting some matching/ toning curtains, as I liked the material used for the rest of the bedding and soft furnishing range and wanted to have a smart co-ordinated look to the scheme used. The curtains came packed very neatly in clear plastic wrappers that allowed me to see the curtains before they were unpacked, there was a card inner support used which allowed the curtains within to arrive in good condition, with only minimal creasing to the material. The protective cases and neat packing and folding, meant that the curtains only needed a very light iron before being threaded with curtain hooks and put in place, which took very little time to do.

      ~A little about the range~

Sanderson say that their Victoria range offers 'an elegant blend of nostalgic, overblown blooms and subdued golden colour' with the use of the wonderful jacquard fabric that they use to create the items that are available. They also say that the 'intricate texture and detail' of the jacquard material is further enhanced with a 'subtle lustre' to the fabric, which I feel is a good description of the beautiful material the curtains are made from. The curtains match in with the rest of the bedding range that is finished with a rope trim and toffee coloured silk border detail although the curtains themselves do not carry the rope trim which I feel would have been over fussy.

There is choice of matching pillows, as well as duvet covers in various sizes, a throw and cushions with a rope trim and sequin detail that completes the Victoria bedding and soft furnishing collection and the items that I have are all well made. The design used for the curtains is very smart and refined, with the light golden toffee biscuit colour of the material having a heavy jacquard feel that oozes quality. The pattern used to make the fabric is lovely and can be viewed on the bed set from the same range which is shown at www.justlinen.co.uk (type in the name Sanderson Victoria and that should bring up the design) as the picture of the product is not shown here.

The soft relaxing colours of the thread and fabric are a good foil for the lining of the curtains which is made from a neutral liner fabric that hangs well when the curtains are in situ. The stitching on the curtains is good with the set I have in use showing no signs of coming apart and there has been no fading of the material over time, which I have been pleased about. The curtain tape that came stitched onto the curtains is a good width with it giving you 3 height options for placing your curtain hooks onto. I found that placing the hooks onto the middle setting gave the results I wanted, so I stuck with that and the effect when the curtains were put in place was in line with what I was hoping for.

      ~Size options and rating~

As with the rest of the stitching on the curtains the tapes are fitted safely and securely in place and have not come away from the curtains over time. The curtains hang well and look very well made, giving a luxury finish that matches really well with the rest of the Victoria range. The curtains come in 2 size options with there being a 54 inch drop or a longer 72 inch drop available. Prices for the curtains are reasonable with there being reductions on the range as it has been on sale for some time now, making these curtains a good by in terms of value for money verses the quality and finish of the curtains. Over all I have been pleased with these curtains and feel they were a good choice so I would like to give them a 4 star rating, as yet they are still looking as new and fresh as ever with no fading, ripping or fraying which I feel shows they are of a good quality.

Sizes for a set of fully lined curtains are as follows:

      Size 1 = 54 inch drop 168 cms x 137 cms / 66 inches x54 inches
      Size 2 =72 inch drop 168 cms x 183 cms / 66 inches x 72 inches

These Victoria curtains are still available to purchase online and may also be sold in store with there being some good discounts available on this range at the moment. The linings are not blackout standard although they do offer a good degree of protection from harsh sunlight during the day if/ when the curtains are in use.
