Advantages: they go well on paper and card

Disadvantages: not great on wood or cotton

Sharpie pens are very popular with people who craft. I bought these from Asda and liked the fact that you could get four different colours as I thought it would be very helpful when I'm crafting.

I like to make things with card and am always looking for decent pens to use. People recommended that I tried Sharpie pens and I was told these would work on surfaces such as material and wood too so thought it would be very beneficial.

They are fine, however, I think that they are thicker than you'd think. The nib is very thick but the actual line that is made is thinner but it is still thicker than a biro, I would say it's about 2mm thick so perhaps a little misleading being called 'fine' although I know it is fine compared to the thick one!

They are comfortable to hold as they are quite large so you feel like you have good control over them whereas if they were thin I'd find them more flimsy so maintaining straight lines may be a problem.

It writes nicely onto card and does take about 10 minutes to dry so you have to be careful not to smudge it during this time. It looks nice too, I found the red dried to be quite dark, it's not a bright red but I thought this is nice.

When I tried writing on cloth it did bleed a little and when my daughter used it on wood she says that it is better than some pens but still not perfect as it does bleed a bit into the grain.

For working on decent quality paper and card I think these are perfect but maybe they are not good enough for other, more challenging mediums.
