      Luxurious towels

I have to confess that I am slightly obsessive about the towels I use . They have to be thick fluffy and soft on the skin.
So as I love Sheridan bedding I decided to try their towels as I needed to replace some of my old ones.

Sheridan are an Australian company and they only use premium materials in the products they make.

Just like bedding has a thread count, and more threads per inch means higher quality , towels are measured in grams per square metre. The higher the count the more absorbent and heavier the towel will be. Premium quality towels generally start at 450GSM. These towels are 660 to 680 gsm and are made from Egyptian cotton which is one of the finest cottons.

The towels come in a range of 10 colours and I bought silver. However I would describe the colour as more of a taupe colour, but I liked the colour so I kept them.

They come in a range of sizes and include:
      Face cloths 33cm by 33cm
Hand towels 100cm Length and 50cm width
Bath towels 140cm Length by 69cm Width
Bath sheet 167 cm Length by 91cm Width

They are described as luxury towels and they certainly live up to their name as they are very thick and soft to the touch. They have a generous pile and they are all larger than my other towels.

The towels are plain with a simple decorative band towards the top of the towel.
I bought hand towels and the bath sheets which are the largest size as I like to cocoon myself in a generous size towel after I shower, so I don't buy bath towels any more. Nothing worse than a narrow skimpy bath towel in my opinion.

I always wash towels before using them and these wash a treat. They have been washed many times now and have retained the colour, thickness and softness and I have not had any loops appearing or any stray threads.
I wash my towels frequently usually after one use especially as I like to use a nice clean fresh towel .

I wash at 40c and if I line dry I always make sure that towels do not fully dry so I finish off in the tumble dryer as that way they fluff up and retain their softness. Or if the weather is bad I tumble dry.
I think you could get away without using a fabric softener on these towels but I tend to use one as I love the scent.

      Overall Opinion
I love these towels, they look and feel luxurious and are so soft against my skin and I think they were an excellent buy.
They are very absorbent and very thick, so much so that I have run out of space for towels in my bathroom cupboard as these take up more space.
I really love wrapping myself in these towels especially after a long bubble bath. It just adds to the experience in my opinion.
They are expensive but I got mine when they were half price at Debenhams and paid £21 for the bath sheet and £8 for the hand towel but at that price I think they were a bargain.
I think you get what you pay for when you buy towels. I bought the ones I am replacing at least 10 years ago and there is still life in them. My husband didn't think we needed new ones and actually moaned so I said he could have exclusive use of the old towels!

The towels are currently half price from Just Linen an online company I have used and can recommend. Also available at House of Fraser and Debenhams - but at full price.
