I like to keep pictures of vintage cars and modern cars in premium looking frames as I have a great passion super cars and muscle cars. For this particular frame I displayed a Ferrari 458 Italia (for the super car lovers out there). The place that I get my frames from is mainly Amazon as they offer extremely competitive prices with quick and reliable deliveries.
This particular frame costs around £3 in Amazon and around £4 in small picture shops. The obvious choice is to buy from Amazon as they do a wide range of frames with a large number of stock. I bought 4 of these frames from Amazon a while ago and the service was good. Overall, the pricing is very sensible for such a good looking frame.
The frame is a subtle silver that looks very classy in a contemporary living room. For me, I chose it as it kind of reflected on the design of the car that I framed but this frame design can be very good at capturing family memories as well as achievements such as certificates. the backing is a dark blue with the brand logo in silver (but this will not be viewable as your picture will be covering it).
My personal experience
The frame is very robust and heavy so it can definitely take a bump, however the same can not be said with the glass as it seems very slightly easy to brake. But then again most cheap frames are like this!!
What can you expect for £3 + it is very probable that you will never drop it at all.
Would I recommend?
As a matter of fact I am considering getting more as I am looking at them right now!!!
They are cool, cheap and very premium looking. A definite recommendation.
Up until recently I hadn't heard the brand name of Shudehill which make photo frames. I bought this in a local shop for about £4.00 which I thought was very good value for the quality and size of photo frame that I purchased and I bought it because I really do like to display photographs in my home of my family.
Shudehill do lots of photo frames in different designs, colours and finishes, mine is quite simple in its design which is again what I was in the market for.
My frame is oblong in shape and it measures 5" x 3.5" which fits my standard sized piccie very well indeed. The frame itself is brushed silver with a brighter silver outline to the outside edge of it and to the inside of the frame where the photograph goes as well and its smooth and not too thick with a glass panel to the front of it to pop your photograph in there and the back is secured by two black plastic easy to use little clasps and the back opens like a book, you pop your photograph behind the glass that I have already mentioned and then close it back up and its all black velvet in appearance and smart to the back of it.
This is a weighty frame, easy to wipe clean and looks really regal and simple and unfussy and I have to admit to really liking this one!
The best place to look for this brand of frames seems to be on Amazon and Ebay at the moment or Google if interested as well!
Since the birth of my son last July my home has been taken over with photographs of the little man each of which displayed in various sized photo frames. I generally buy frames as and when I need them giving little thought to the matter but for 'special' photos I like to buy good quality frames that take pride of place on my living room coffee table. Shudehill frames offer a good balance between quality and cost with the prices of them working out to be very reasonable for how they look and I think they can make for pretty nice gifts too.
This review will focus on the frame featured in Dooyoo's picture, I suggested the product here as it's the latest frame I bought for myself and with a birthday coming up in the family I thought it would make for a fantastic personal gift when given complete with a photograph. The frames I bought measure 7" x 5" although they are available in a standard 6" x 4" too and are nicely packaged with tissue paper protecting the metal and presented in a outer flat box which is blue in colour. The silver metal has a brushed appearance to it so it looks matt rather than shiny and looks a lot more expensive than the £3.75 I paid for each of mine. The stand at the back of the frame is covered in a plush velvet material, black in colour and again good quality with a few catches that hold it in place over a photograph and sandwiched by a simple glass viewing window. Removing the back to put a photo in takes no time at all and once a photo has been put in place the back simply slots back into place and holds firm thanks to the catches and a decent sized stand which allows the photograph to be stood up and displayed.
I've bought a few Shudehill frames in the past and have never had any troubles with discolouration of the metal or any signs of wear after they have been wiped over. The finish of the frames is fantastic I think and whilst they are subtle in their appearance I think they have an understated quality to them which doesn't detract from the image they are displaying. As mentioned I bought a second frame recently to give away as an upcoming birthday present and for me they make an inexpensive, personalised gift which I know will be well received and admired. There's nothing to complain about as far as how the frames are made, the quality of materials used is excellent and every frame I've bought from the company has had the same look of quality to them, compared to some cheaper frames that are available I do think that Shudehill produce some lovely looking items and for me these frames add a touch of elegance to my living room.
They're usually available in card and gift shops, Shudehill generally produce giftware and their recognisable blue boxes should be easily found at a number of high street shops and online retailers. I bought my frames from amazon as I had some vouchers to use and for £3.75 each I really have nothing to criticise them on, I love photographs anyway and have always displayed them around my home to me are a lovely way of personalising the place you live in and a way to display some cherished memories.
Five stars as a rating from me, thanks for reading my review.
