Advantages: Can be used as a wieght for baloons too

Disadvantages: There are better more attractive boxes available .. but those are more expensive too

I went to a wedding recently and we received a favour inside a little silver box silk effect hollow box identical to this one.
First let me define a wedding favour. Basically it is just a little gift that is given to each guest as an acknowledgement a thank you for sharing the special day. A wedding favour can be anything, but the tradition us 5 sugared almonds . I would suggest 5 is the magic number symbolizing, health, wealth , happiness long life and fertility. We received 5 chocolate sweets in our favour box.

So if you wish to have these silver boxes for your wedding they are available in wedding departments and on line at http://www.soraiseyourglasses.com they are 58p each.
I found a much cheaper deal at http://www.partypacks.co.uk Where they cost 20p each or 100 for 17 p that's much more reasonable.

You will receive these little boxes flat so you have to make them up. These boxes are made of thin card. They are pre cut and the fold lines scored so they are fairly easy to assemble.
Once assembled they measure 65 x 65 x 60mm so do check the size of the favour you are putting in it as 65 mm is not very big . Made up this makes a box with a did which has a 3cm silver hook /loop on the top . I think it would be best to fill the box before you fold and construct the lid and hanging loop this is the only fiddly part and if you are making a lot you don't want to undo them all to fill them and then fold the lid in position again

These little favour boxes have a little card loop on the top one you can put your little finger through and carry the favour box easily with out squashing the box. These boxes are designed with this card loop so that they can be used as balloon weights.
Helium balloons were attached to some of these boxes at the wedding reception. The box does need to be filled with something fairly heavy to keep the balloon down stones or sand is suggested.

I expect some wedding favours would be heavy enoughth to do the job so the box plus favour and balloon could be at the table placements so the balloon would be part of the gift.
These little boxes can be used at other celebrations such as birthday parties. Ideal for a silver wedding or retirement party, any party really where you want to present a small keepsake to your guests

Summary: Little silver card boxes for favours or to weight a balloon .

I've seen these and often wondered where they came from! Some weddings I've been to however don't bother with the wedding gift boxes and use net pouches or silk for little gifts.

At the wedding we went to last week we got British Heart Foundation pin badges and a note saying a donation had been given, as the groom's dad had died from heart disease. i thought that was really lovely :o)
