Advantages: Excellent Quality, Does A Great Job, Environmentally Safe, Great To Handle & Use
Disadvantages: More Expensive Than Other Rubbers
An eraser isn't a huge product on the market, but when it comes to buying one, you will want a good one. Staedler are a well-known manufacture for all kinds of office equipment including pencils and erasers, such as the Mars Plastic version that I am reviewing. The rubber comes in a cellophane packet with a tear strip for easy removal.
The rubber inside is enclosed in a cardboard sleeve, which gives it some protection and enables convenient handling. The rubber has the dimensions of: 65mm, 23mm and 13mm so is of a fair size. Hence, it is rectangular shaped and ideal for handling. The rubber is phthalate and latex free, which makes it efficient and environmentally safe.
The eraser can be used for graphite on paper as well as other materials like card and even cut wood such as MDF. It can also be used for OHP pen on overhead film, which is useful for schools and offices with things such as presentations. The eraser lasts a long time, as it doesn't wear away quickly like other erasers. The residue form using the rubber isn't crumbly either and rather comes off as small strands of twisted rubber, which can easily be brushed away. The rubber barely touches your paper and leaves it in tact, so you don't need to worry about it ripping your page apart.
The rubber is very precise too as it has distinct sharp corners to help you erase the most precise spots on the page. The rubber does not become decolourised after a lot of use, so won't continue to rub black marks on your work. It's really simple to use and doesn't require a lot of pressure. It will get rid of all graphite writing on paper from any sort of pencil.
I like this rubber as it's of great quality and does a fine job. I find the cardboard sleeve round the rubber good, as it stops it getting marked from other pens it may be with and also gives a better feel when handling the rubber. You can slowly and easily slide this sleeve off to reveal more of the rubber. The rubber has a pleasant smell, which is comforting too... not like you should be buying this as some sort of drug inhaler. It's not cannabis - it's a rubber.
For just 60p, and available in most good stationers such as WHSmith, I would highly recommend this rubber as it's the number one eraser you can buy on the market. It's of great quality, does a superb job and feels good to handle. You may think it's only a rubber, but at the price it comes at, you may as well buy the best.
