Advantages: Variety of colours, the box it comes in

Disadvantages: Go 'blunt' quite easily

Having tried the Staedler felt tips, I decided to give these a go. I usually use Muji coloured gel pens (they come in packs of 18 in Hong Kong, but am unsure if they do this in the UK) but as I'm not going back to HK this summer, I needed an alternative. I went for these thinking that the longevity must surely be longer than gel pens.

Anyway, as mentioned in my other review, the box design is brilliant. Innovative and can be reused. I usually bin the packaging my pens come in but this one is for keepers. It can be folded and clicked into place so that it stands up at an acute angle so the pens can be taken out and put back in with ease. This saves time having to open and close it if it were not designed as it is.

Moving onto the pens themselves. The pens come in a wide range of colours so if you were to use them for colour coding, you would not run out of options. The flow of ink is also good and consistent. However, with prolonged use, the pen tips can sometimes deform and thus, are no longer 'fine'liners but just normal ink pens. To combat this, I've taken to using these pens with a bit more care and as much light-handedness as possible in order for me to be able to use these pens for a bit longer as fine liners. With time though, this would happen to most pens which have tips similar to these fineliners.

The pens are in a triangular prism shape and are thus, easy to hold. Keeping a grip on them is easy even though there is no designated grip area. However, for those with bigger hands, they may find these pens a bit harder to hold as they are quite slim in design.

The cost of these pens are neither expensive, nor cheap. But on that scale, they are more towards cheap than expensive (depending on the store you decide to purchase them from).

Overall, these pens are good fineliners and they will serve you well, however, I think I will be sticking to my Muji gel pens.

Summary: Not really something that I will purchase again as it lacks longevity.
