Advantages: Amazing array of colour choice

Disadvantages: None

I used to be a gel pen fanatic. I would collect the scented ones, the glitter ones and the highlighter ones. I had a large collection, but hardly ever used them, which meant that many dried up and I became sad. Now being more sensible with my money, but still being attracted to pens, this Staedtler colour fine liner set was perfect. As I do art, this set has proven to be useful for pen and ink drawings.

The design of the box is also to note. Being translucent, not only does it showcase the pens in all its glory, the break-open lid can be flipped over to form a stand for the pens, which makes it easy for you to take them out to use. Each pen has a coloured lid which corresponds to its tone. The triangular shape of the pen means that it gives you good grip and the silver gives it that extra edge and class.

The pack contains twenty six different coloured pens including the typical red, yellow, blue, green, purple and orange varieties, but what sets this pack apart is that it contains unique colours as well. The teal, turquoise, lime green, scarlet, rose pink as well as two shades of brown means that you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to using the pens.

As I mentioned, I use the pens mainly for pen and ink drawings, but also for writing cards, notes and colour coding in my notes or school work. As it is an ink pen, it is absorbed very quickly into the page and doesn't smudge at all. They do not work well on shiny surfaces, so avoid using them on plastic bags or fabric, although they are machine washable so they will wash away if they do end up on the clothes.

Currently around £10 (Originally £24) at most stationary stores, these pens are a no brainer. Not only are they of high quality, but the variety and range that they give you will be most useful to anyone, be it artist, doctor, housewife... Go grab yourself a set now!
