Suck UK Christmas Pudding Bin Bags
Advantages: design, durable, fun, festive
~Christmas Pudding Bin Bags~
These bin bags are available from www.suck.uk.com priced at £10 for a pack of 12. The other variety available resemble fish swimming around in their fish bowl!
These novelty bin bags have a 70 litre capacity and are made from 'degradable low density polyethylene. They can be recycled. Basically, once full, the bags are designed to resemble the shape and appearance of a Christmas pudding! As well as having a fun design, the bin bags are practical for disposing of rubbish or holding festive items.
Whilst I normally buy regular bin bags from the pound shop, I was over the moon when a friend sent me a few of these novelty bin bags last Christmas. I am easily amused and this was one of my favourite parcels! I plan on buying my own this year despite the high cost of 83p per bag.
The bags are reasonably thick and are definitely durable. When they are delivered, they are folded individually so there is no potential tear issues whilst trying to separate the bags. They are quite large - the website states 600mm x 900mm which I find to be accurate. Once unfolded and puffed out, they are a lot bigger than they initially look. I tried one out in my regular kitchen bin and found it to be much larger than standard black bags.
I am a Christmas addict and found that these bags to be such fun to have around my home. At first, I didn't want to use these for regular rubbish as they are too pretty for that in my opinion. One bag was filled up with around 200 colourful play balls for my sons ball pitt. The bag held the contents well with no signs of straining -they really are well made. The top of the bag has a bit of excess plastic which can be tidied easily to keep the contents safe and secure. None of the contents were visible through the bag.
I find these bags to be perfect for cheap Santa sacks! They hold quite a lot and one bag I had was filled with quite a few presents. Some of the wrapped presents had slightly sharp edges but the bag didn't tear which is always a good sign of quality. I found the bags to be useful for transporting gifts over to my brother in laws - all the gifts arrived dry and in perfect condition. I also found it useful to have store my fiances families presents in one bag and my families in another to keep them all together.
The main talking point is the design. The bottom of the bag is brown with black dots (some have green dots), then there is a dollop of thick, cascading icing and the bag is finished off with the green top. It looks fun, quirky and much more appealing that a bog standard, black bin bag. I re-used the bags a few times as it seemed a shame to throw them out. After Christmas, I realised we had ran out of proper bin bags so we had no alternative but to use these bags for household rubbish. They performed well in this role and help food, packages etc in without spillage. My fiance did get a few funny looks when taking the bag out to put it in the bin which I found amusing!
I wouldn't buy these for regular household rubbish despite them being up to the job. I find them best for gift bags or Christmas sacks as they hold a lot and definitely look festive. I can't resist buying a full packet this year as they will come in handy for taking presents to my parents home on Christmas Day.
Expensive but fun!
