If like me you find it hard to save your hard earned pennies without dipping into them occassionally, then the Terramundi Money Pot is for you! Terramundi Money Pots have been used in Italy for over 2000 years and their design has remained unchanged for that time. The British Museum even houses some examples of these pots dating back ... These things are a great and unusual gift generally loved by all! I got my partner one of these for his birthday and he was well pleased. They come with a little card that you fill in stating what you are going to use the money on once the pot is full...the only thing is it HAS to be something fun like a holiday, so no bill paying ... This year, for my birthday, I received a Terramundi money pot. What is a Terramundi, I hear you ask? A Terramundi is a traditional Italian earthernware pot, used to save money in. A piggy bank with a difference. The difference is- once your money is in then you can't get it out until you break the pot. If you are anything like me then ... Read the complete review

With my wedding looming and money the main thing on our minds it was a nice surprise to get one of these for my Birthday. It is white in colour with sliver writing saying wedding day on the front. I always wanted one of these, everytime I seen them in the shop but I always thought at £18.99 for a large one and £12.99 for a smaller one ... Read the complete review

Terramundi's are a form of clay pot, which you can use like a piggy bank. Unlike a traditional piggy bank, there is no stopper to take money out. In order to remove the money you have to smash the jar. This is good in one way, that you can not break into your savings until you have built up a decent amount, however it also means in an emergency ... Read the complete review

My husband and I received a Wedding Day Terramundi Money Pot as one of our wedding gifts. I must admit that I was a bit perplexed when we opened the box - what was this odd pot? After some internet research and reading the guide that came with the pot, I discovered that the pots had been used in Italy for thousands of years as a symbol ... Read the complete review

These are gorgeous pots, all beautifully decorated and seem to cost between 10 and 20 pounds depending on the shop you buy it from. So why would you want to smash one? Mine was a present though so I don't deduct this figure from it's inner value, but although I didn't pay for it I still would never want to throw it down and watch the money fly ... Terramundi pots were first made in Italy 2000 or so years ago. Traditionally, the first coin was dropped into the pot and then safe until the pot was full of money. When full, the pot was smashed to release the treasure. The terramundi retails from around £13.00 plus p and p via the internet, to around £20.00 in department ... Read the complete review

The Terramundi money pots are a great little way to save money, although a tad expensive to buy at first and retail around £18 pounds , they are really good fun with all the patterns that are around, I personally have the cow print one, but they can vary from all different colours such as blue and purple but also patterns that are strips, cow ... These are beautiful looking money pots, there's no doubt about it, and I was quite tempted, but surely they are just the ultimate expression of the throwaway consumer society. You are supposed to spend money just to buy something to save money in, and then you can't use it again (okay I take the point that you could break it carefully then glue ... Read the complete review

I first came across Terramundi Money Pots about 5 years ago, whilst browsing in a Garden Centre and they immediately caught my eye. So much so, that when I was asked by my Sister what I would like for a birthday present, I asked for one! Terramundi Money Pots are decorative clay money pots, which are handmade in Italy and then painted ... Read the complete review

If you have anyone to buy for this Christmas who has a new baby, then look no further than a Terramundi Money Pot for a gift they will absolutely adore. An Italian tradition for over 2000 years, the design remains unchanged. The British Museum houses some very ancient examples of the money pots. Tradition states that from the day the first coin is put into the pot, then it must remain untouched until the pot is full. When the full pot is eventually smashed then the contents should be ... There is something nice about a money box, even for adults, a sort of nostalgia for pocket money in childhood perhaps, and the excitement of saving up for something you really wanted. Even though these days most of us are more likely to stick it on a credit card and worry about it later, money boxes are a reminder not just of childhood but also ... Read the complete review
