Tesco Happy Birthday Balloons
Advantages: Look good, strong
It was my daughter's fourth birthday recently, and unfortunately for me she decided she wanted a party at our house, despite me offering up lots of alternatives that meant I wouldn't have a house full of hyper children! Once I admitted defeat, I started to think about decorating, party games and so on. But I soon realised that whenever I have been to a party with three and four year olds, they are not really interested in either the decorations or the games - they just want to run about, eat cake and go a bit bonkers. So I decided not to go too overboard and just went for the basics.
And one of the basics for me was lots of balloons! I bought a few different packs, including some nice pink and purple ones I knew my little girl would love, but I also picked a pack of these Happy Birthday balloons in Tesco. A pack costs £1 for ten balloons, and there are five colours - yellow, white, red, green and blue, with two balloons of each colour.
Blowing up loads of balloons isn't really my idea of fun, especially when the balloons are poor quality and hard to blow up! But I am pleased to say that these were really easy to blow up, and stretchy enough to tie quite easily too. None burst while they were being inflated - although we lost a few on the big day itself! - and between my husband and I these were blown up pretty quickly. The colours are really bold and bright, and were a nice change from the pink and purple balloons that we also had. They were a good size too.
And also each balloon is emblazoned with the words "Happy Birthday" and a picture of a cake . The graphic is all in black but is large and covers most of one surface of the balloon. Although, in all honesty, my daughter didn't really care whether they had words and pictures on them, I quite liked the graphic and thought it made the balloons a bit more interesting.
I was glad I got these extra balloons as the children seemed to love playing with them on the day. And even now, several weeks later, we have quite a few left that have survived without being popped or deflating.
Overall these are great balloons. They are strong and durable, and the colours are bright and fun. At 10p each I have no complaints, and will give them five stars.
Summary: Great birthday balloons
