Advantages: No advantage in buying this, save your thirty pence.
Disadvantages: Make the air smell worse than it did before.
Having an elderly dog in the house means that I tend to get through quite a lot of air freshener. The reasons for this are clear without the need to go into specific details on the subject.
So, I thought I might try to save some of that all important money and buy Tesco's Value Air Freshener. There is nothing exciting about the packaging. It is white with blue stripes and carries a price tag of just 30 pence. This is a big saving against the Haze Air Fresheners that range from around £1.70 upwards.
I debated for a while and then decided that it must be worth a try. After all, I had always brainwashed my children into agreeing that 'We like yoghurt, bread, crisps, biscuits and baked beans with pretty blue stripes on the packaging. In fact we prefer them.'
The next day I did my usual clean up and sprayed the room with my new air freshener. The dog made that 'tsk tsk' noise that they make as they rub their noses on the carpet and which, roughly translated means, ' That stinks!' He then vacated the house and refused to come back in.

However, I was not to be deterred. I used the same aerosol spray upstairs and in the hallway. It didn't seem to have the same aroma as one of the more expensive brands but I did have a cold, so maybe that was why I wasn't to sure. Apart from that I had bought two cans of it, so I wasn't going to give up.
Then there was a knock at the door and my daughter came in. Her first words were 'You've been using Tesco Air Freshener, haven't you?'
I asked how she knew and she said that she would know that fragrance anywhere because it had a unique whiff of greenfly spray, hairspray and something else unmentionable.
At that point the postman called and knocked at the door to hand me a package. I noticed that he wrinkled his nose at the aroma coming aroma the hallway. That was enough. I took both cans and threw them into the dustbin.
So, unless you have no sense of smell and you get no visitors, don't buy this product because you could end up creating a worse smell then there was before.
At 30p Tesco Air Freshener is a waste of money. This is a perfect example of getting what you pay for.
Summary: This is a perfect example of getting exactly what you paid for.
