Tesco Value Air Freshener
Disadvantages: Everything about it
I always try and get a bargain wherever possible but sometimes it really doesn't pay to scrimp and buying Tesco Value air freshener was one of those times as it was absolutely disgusting. The best thing about it was the price but after using it I would go so far as to say it was overpriced and even if I was given this for free I wouldn't ever use it again.
The air freshener costs 39p for a large 300ml can of spray so I was swayed in to trying it out as I thought that at least if I didn't like it then it wasn't going to be too much money down the drain. However I didn't realise that I would dislike it so much and end up throwing out nearly a full can of it.
It comes in the usual white and blue value packaging which isn't particularly pretty to look at but it's what's on the inside that counts and I hate paying more for something just because it looks pretty.
The can is metal with a plastic lid and the air freshener itself is an aerosol one.
To use you just press down and spray it around a room. The first thing that I noticed about this compared to other air fresheners was that this didn't come out of the can in a fine mist and coat the air but instead it came out in a powerful surge and instead of misting all over the room it just sort of sprayed in a straight line.
The second thing I noticed of course was the smell which to be frank was absolutely vile. I think it is supposed to be a floral smell but it is so chemical smelling and cloying that it was actually hard to tell. It also really permeated a room after spraying so much that I was choking after only spraying it for a couple of seconds. It took absolutely ages for the horrible smell to leave and I ended up having to open all the windows even though it was the middle of winter because I hated it so much.
I normally find that the value products from Tesco are usually quite good. Often other than the packaging there isn't a huge difference between them and the more expensive ones but this definitely wasn't the case with this air freshener and I could tell straight away that it was inferior to the other brands that I have used before.
Even for the money this isn't worth it and I would rather live with so called bad smells than ever have to use this again.
Summary: An absolutely vile smelling air freshener
