Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Don't work, horrible to write with

I bought these pens to use as a cheap pen for revision quite a while ago. The pack contains 10 biros. 4 blue coloured ones, 3 black coloured ones and 3 red coloured ones. The packet of 10 biros cost me 40p, making each Biro worth 4p each.

The pens look and feel cheap, with the barrels made of thin plastic, and the lids made out of slightly thicker plastic. My other half stood on one of the pens I had dropped and it didn't just split like other Biros would, it shattered into loads of pieces. Just holding the pens to write, you had to be really careful as the barrel felt extremely brittle.

I was quite realistic in the fact that I knew cheap pens like this would not allow me to write beautifully etc, but I did expect them to actually work! I went to use one of the black pens, and the ink was extremely faded and on the paper looked like the pen was running out. And after a few sentences, the pen did stop working. After shaking it to try and get the ink flowing, it worked again, but the ink was still very faded. The process of the pen working then not working went on and on until I gave up trying to use the cheap pens. Some of the packed did not work at all!

When the Biro did work, the nib was 'scratchy' feeling against the paper and not in the slightest bit smooth, which is what I like in a pen. When I used it on the cheap paper I had bought for my revision, the pen made a few small holes in the pen, where I had to drag it to make it write.

The colours in the pens that did work were faded and not well pigmented at all. The black was the worst in my opinion, and actually this is the most important colour for me, as anything official I write, has to be in black ink.

I would not buy these again, I am all for saving money and buying cheap things like pens, but these do not even work. I would give them 0 stars but that is not an option so they will begrudgingly get 1 star.

Summary: A 40p better spent elsewhere
