Tesco Value Plastic Cups
Advantages: Easy to hold, comfortable, thin plastic so I can see my drink level, cheap.
Disadvantages: Thin, flimsy, break easily.
At work we have a couple of parties throughout the year and one of the more recent ones was to celebrate an anniversary of one of my colleagues joining the company. What we always do is choose one item of food to bring in each and then work provides the money for cutlery, cups, plates etc and we always pick these up from Tesco which is our nearest supermarket.
This time round we picked up these Tesco value plastic cups as we didn't have a big budget and wanted to shave off a few pounds to pick up some cupcakes we wanted from a shop in our town. We paid just 55p for a 25 pack of cups and as there were around 10 or 12 people to cater for this was ideal as it meant that people could use multiple cups if there was a need for it but where possible they could be encouraged to mark their cup or leave it in a certain place to ensure that they could re-use it. Obviously we thought that this price was reasonable enough and they were the cheaper cups available in store which is why we picked these ones.
These cups are nothing special really and they are made from a very thin plastic. They have ridges all across them and because they are thin it is simple to see the colour of liquid that is contained within them. This made it easy for me to find my drink at work because I was the only person drinking Lucozade (I was under the weather) and so I had no problems knowing that it was my drink right away. These cups are very small so they need to be refilled quite frequently and I would say that they hold somewhere in the region of 150ml of liquid but that isn't necessarily exact. Because of how thin these cups are they are easy to snap too and I often find myself doing that with these type of cups when I am bored. These cups are very lightweight which means that even when full that they are simple to knock over.
These cups are simple to use of course as you just need to pour liquid in to them but because they are thin and lightweight they are not very strong and therefore I am going to rate them 3/5. These are cheap and cheerful and of course you do get what you pay for. I'd recommend these for use at work parties and the like but if you were trying to use these outside they would just blow all around your garden or crumple in the breeze most likely. Yes the price is low and the quality is average but none of these cups had any holes in them nor did they break up in anyone's hand so that is the main thing of course. I am sure we will buy these again for work as we have bought them in the past and the best thing is that there is no washing up!
